Love the Ys series and Memories of Celceta was my first game (and the reason I bought a Vita!). Absolutely loved it and the soundtrack is, expectedly, a banger (Ys games have really good soundtracks).
I recently wrapped up a replay of Ys Memoire: Oath in Felghana and was surprised how much less I enjoyed it than expected.. loved it the first playthrough a couple of years ago but getting lost in dungeons became unfun fairly quick - Memories is the "newer" 3 character fighting style and it's way more fun in my opinion.
@ferryb001 What you're describing is actual theft, depriving someone of property. Software piracy is copyright infringement. Nothing was actually stolen except a digital copy, and that digital copy does not equate to a lost sale.
Do you really think those million of downloads were from people standing in a store, holding the game in their hands, thinking "hmmmmmm.... should I buy this, or.. ya know what, no. Nope! I'm going to pirate it, only because this site is available to pirate from, I'm going to download it illegally! No sale for you, Nintendo! Hahahaha!" You're going to need to think a bit more critically.
There are people who download pirated games all the time. They are not going to buy it in 99% of cases if a single site goes down. They'll either a) not play it, or b) find it somewhere else.
This is just another distraction in the collapse of the USA, and NL knows that these articles attract all the kids to leap up and defend Nintendo and demand, despite all the horrible people and corruption in the world, that game pirates of all people be publicly put to death. It's embarrassing.
@SuperRetroArt Lol agreed, that dude you're replying to is off his rocker. "I'd happily send Nintendo my cartridge" gotta love preemptivel bowing down to the billion dollar corporation. So eager to please, like a good little consumer.
The related article title: "Review Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition (Switch) - An Unforgivably Sloppy Port Of A Genre Classic". Have not played the Switch port of the first game but that doesn't say anything positive about the upcoming second game!
Not sold on a Switch 2, likely will not get one - but I’ll say as a huge fan of DK64 I really loved the Kong switching mechanic and would be heavily persuaded to buy a Switch 2 if it kept some of those game mechanics. That being said I don’t foresee that happening. Perhaps one day in the future I’ll grab a S2 and pick it up.
@somnambulance “the only reason” is the price? The single lap maps, the long drive to the next level that constitutes 2/3 laps, the open world being lackluster? There have been plenty of critical takes that didn’t even mention the price.
@somnambulance this is the first MK I’ve seen that’s had a mixed response upon release, and I’ve played them all as they came out. The $80 price tag sucks and I believe that if people didn’t get it for $50 with the pack-in price, their reviews would be more critical.
The only place I’ve seen nothing but praise is here on NL!
All that said, I have yet to play it yet and I’ve heard many different opinions, but this is the first time I’ve heard any negatives towards a Mario Kart game. And none of the complaints have been about the price.
This will be the first Nintendo console I don't buy day one since the Super Nintendo. Not that there's anything wrong with it (I don't even mind the high price of admission), but games come out so frequently now and I have too little time to catch up on all the Switch 1 and PS5 games. I'd rather spend that money playing games on consoles I already have.
I love 200cc mode, it was the ultimate challenge once you 3-starred 150cc. You have to rely on braking which is basically unused at 50-100cc, heck even 150cc there are only certain parts that require braking. The tracks clearly are not designed with those speeds in mind but to me that just added to the challenge.
@BTB20 "Why are you supporting the pirates? If you just play your games normally like everyone else there won't be any problem."
First of all, stop calling them pirates. There are plenty more reasons to mod than just pirating games.
Second, I want you to think about what you said here. Like really try to think beneath the surface: "If you just play your games normally like everyone else there won't be any problem" - this is essentially "you can use the thing you paid for, as long as you use it the way we intend". Now apply this logic to literally anything else you've bought. Billion dollar corporations demanding you use their device THAT YOU PAID FOR in a specific way or else it can be remotely destroyed is insane and extremely dystopian, and absolutely not something that should be allowed to happen.
Such a one-dimensional view you have of the entire situation.

@NFrealinkling Ban from their servers? Sure. But this is outright disabling full functionality of the console.
