Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Legend Of Zelda Game?

Gamercake

If you count Wind Waker and Wind Waker HD as one, then it has the highest total, and rightly so. The Wind Waker had great dungeons and graphics, and even though it was a bit short, what was there was the best in the series.

Re: Feature: Time to Vote For Your Game of the Year 2013

It has to be Wind Waker HD. The Wind Waker is definitely my favourite Zelda game and it's easily one of the best video games ever. The Wind Waker HD was better than the original so it just HAS to be Game of the Year. I think Super Mario 3D World and Rayman Legends come in close second.

Re: Review: Wii Sports Club: Tennis (Wii U eShop)

I think that the Tennis game is very well executed. The Wii MotionPlus controls feel amazing, and really add to the experience, and the HD graphics are cool too. The only problem is that online is pretty much unplayable due to the horrendous lag when you play with someone who has a mildly bad internet connection. It's disappointing, but if you plan to play couch co-op only, it's definitely worth a purchase.

Re: Preview: Super Mario 3D World

Gamercake

This game clearly seems like one of the best games this year and, to be honest, it looks far superior to anything on the PS4 or Xbone. I think this will turn out to be a great year for the Wii U.

Initially, I wasn't too impressed with this game. The E3 trailer was dull and boring, and the game seemed like a lazy effort to bring 3D Land to the Wii U, but now after some incredible new footage and info, I've got a feeling that this just might beat Galaxy.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Clarifies That Local Multiplayer is Still the Priority for Mario

Gamercake

To be honest, I've never been a big fan of multiplayer in the past, but I do enjoy it occasionally.
I think it's time that Nintendo started adding some online funtionality to more of their games, be it a full multiplayer experience or just a highscore table. Miiverse also has a lot of untapped potential. It's simple and effective, and there's no reason why games such as Super Mario 3D World and Pikmin 3 are left without online multiplayer.
I agree that local multiplayer is far more enjoyable than online, but there's no reason why both can't be included in a game.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2013 - Summer Edition

WHAT?!?! No Batman Arkham Origins! I am way more excited for Arkham Origins than I am for Assassins Creed 4 or Watchdogs. But the game I'm MOST looking forward to is the new 3D Mario. The galaxy games were simply amazing and probably the best two games I've ever played.
My list-
1. 3D Mario
2. Batman Arkham Origins
3. Pikmin 3
4. Wonderful 101
5. Windwaker HD

Re: Talking Point: An Open Letter To Nintendo

Gamercake

This guy just has to have PATIENCE. No console has ever had a great time only a few months after launch. Look at the PS3 and 360, in their first few months they struggled a whole lot more than the Wii U. And a better example is the 3DS; Nintendo turned what used to be laughing-stock into the best selling console right now and brought a whole bunch of high quality games. This is something that Sony can still not manage to do with the VITA. When the big games start rolling out soon, which they sure will, the Wii U will be flying off shelves like nobody's buisiness, and will be a console that is successful with a large, high quality library of games for years to come. Have faith in Nintendo.

Re: Talking Point: The Download or Disc Dilemma

Gamercake

If a game is available online and on disc, I always buy the disc version. The only reason is you can trade them in and buy second hand discs. Also, the prices are too high and for big games it takes a lot of time to download.

Re: Talking Point: The Perils and Positives of a Packed Release Schedule

Gamercake

I don't get what the problem is. If there are many games this month, but a drought in the next, you can just play a game you didn't have time to play instead. In February there weren't any new games, so I bought something I didn't have time for in November. I also picked up Epic Mickey and PIKMIN, two games I didn't have time for when they were released back on the Wii. If anything, I'm not complaining if there are too many games to play.

Re: Reaction: Doom and Gloom Merchants on Wii U Being Nintendo's Last Home Console

Gamercake

Simply put, when the 'big' games start rolling out, the Wii U will sell in bucket-loads this Christmas. And titles like LEGO City Undercover and PIKMIN 3 will also make an impact to Wii U sales. Also, let's face it, a super powerful console with no games is pretty useless. The Wii U will have a massive library of high quality titles throughout its lifetime.
