Re: Switch Sales Fall Dramatically In Japan, But Splatoon 2 Passes The One Million Marker

Gamer401

In the United States you can walk into stores and find a few Switch systems on the shelves. They show up at one store for a few days, then another them another. This has been a regular cycle for also 2 months now. My guess is that it's because of money being directed towards the summer vacation months no now children going back to school. Using an app for a store makes it easy to find them, or just walk in the store. They usually sit on the shelves for a few days until they are sold out again, but just check another store, as they will get a shipment next.

My guess is that this will continue to be the case until mid to late October.

For those who will line up on the release date, BE WARNED!

If you're going to line up you have to be insanely committed. 11pm may have been enough for the NESC, but now that people know how disappointing it is to show up 3 hours early, that may not be enough.

Know that one person will wait in line and then in the morning their wives, kids, and friends come get in line with them. If stores asked for an ID to make sure only one per household was first sold it would help. On top of that hopefully the weather cooperates or you live in an area where there is a good climate. Then you have stores, like Walmart, who let their employees have first dibs.

When you consider all the factors against you, bots, scalpers, family and friends of people who work in the stores, family and friends of people in line, store employees, long hours, and bad weather, etc. thinking back on it I can totally understand those who say screw it.

Someone needs to get Reggie's buttocks out there in the real world so he can understand what fans go through. The only way I can see that Nintendo could stop the madness is to continue to make the unit for a while, instead of making it limited time this holiday season only.

Sincerely good luck! I wouldn't want to be in your shoes.

The blame is on Nintendo. Do it right by taking preorders for a full day or two and THEN build to those orders, plus a few thousand more to cover defects and replacements. Let everyone sign that if they preorder you must pay $25 that you cannot get back, ever. Everyone gets a system and manufacturing is done. If scalpers want to buy hundreds let them, but the public gets what they want.

Re: Guide: Where to Pre-Order Your Super NES Classic Edition

Gamer401

@singingbrakeman I totally agree. Best Buy was a disappointment again this year, same as Amazon. Gamestop delivered by at least letting people walk in and reserve. No online system failures that the customers had to face. The employees had a hang up, but it was an easy system for me.

Re: Nintendo Shows Off the New Armour in Zelda: Breath of the Wild's The Master Trials DLC

Gamer401

@darthstuey I buy titles that I'm interested in. I like open world games mostly, with a few Sci-Fi games thrown in there. I like racing games to, but not the rubber banding in Mario Kart.

When Nintendo puts out games like Pilotwings, F-Zero, Waverace, Excitebike, and Metroid I'll be back. If they ever get any 3rd party games from R*, Take 2, Bioware, or any open world games like Just Cause 3 I'll take a look. But looking at what Nintendo is doing it will be a very, very long time before I buy another game for the Switch.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Says Nintendo is 'Fact-Finding' on Joy-Con Connection and Screen Scratching Issues

Gamer401

My left joycon doesn't go out often, but it happens at the worst times. Aka character walked off a tower. I'm 8 feet away, so this should not be happening. Also I rarely take the Switch out, but after getting the reports I took is out and the screen was scratched on both sides. The comment in the article "it's arguably been overblown" and by Reggie are giving him and the website a black eye. The problems are real and all they need to do is address it and move forward. But what was said won't be forgotten.

Re: Poll: Are You Optimistic for Nintendo's 2017?

Gamer401

Nintendo hasn't changed the way it's done business in over 30 years. The continued failure to have enough NES Classic Editions shows that they still don't get the supply side of the business. Releasing a low processing prowered system, nothing new there. And no understanding of what their fans want and 3rd party support "might" still be issues. Good games, yes, but they are few. And if there is no 3rd party support to plug in the delay holes,...well, here we go again.

At the moment I'm Nintendomistic, but even that is wearing thin.

Nintendomistic - Not negative, but not getting ones hopes up or falling for the hype of any Nintendo game or system, due to past Nintendo business practices.
