I was an avid Professor Layton fan (still am, actually), and I had never given the Ace Attorney games a single chance, untill the crossover happened. The crossover was awesome, and so are the Ace Attorney games themselves. I never would've tried them without this crossover!

I got really angry when I realised they were showing this as a new game, instead of as an added DLC to the existing one. The existing one was fun, but lacked some critical things (such as a fun main game). It first seemed they were finally going to add it when they showed this... only to show they were throwing the old one in the garbage and now expect me to spend another 60 on this one. No way, I'll buy mine second hand.

@jump I really agree with you. I bought this game 2nd hand and THANK GOD I didn't pay full price for such a bad excuse of "humour"... The opening dialogue is so cringeworthy, and what I got after wasn't much better.

I was a little bit too young when I first played this, so I didn't finish it and that haunts me to this day. I still have the 3DS HD remake which I - regretfully - didn't finish too.

If they re-release the HD version on Switch this year, I solemnly swear to finally complete it!

And if not, I'll have to grab my trusty 3DS.. Because this has to happen one day.

I looked up the SoC mentioned (the Mariko one) and, as far as I can find, this is the same one already inside the v2019 Switch and Switch Lite. That won't pull the 4k...

Anyone with decent expertise here? Are there more than one Mariko codenamed SoCs?

I've only recently heard about the GameCube sales being so low. This was my console. I had it, all my friends had it.

It was so weird to hear that is wasn't actually all that popular as it is in my childhood memories.

@Kid_Sickarus As far as I'm aware the golden rule in any% speedrunning is that you have to start from a clean, vanilla-state game.

Any modifications you have to do to get to your speedrun, have to be accounted for in your time

EDIT: this probably means this will start it's own category. Nothing is impossible

@Heavyarms55 Well, having a seal makes it even more unique. Once it's been unwrapped, you can never go back to the sealed version.

@Heavyarms55 Some people collect Pokémon cards, Yu-gi-oh or Magic the Gathering cards, but those need to be in pristine condition for them to be valuable too. (It costs like $20-$30 to even get them graded)

Now, imagine you had 10.000x as much money as the average person: everything can become a collectable..

I've had my fingers crossed for Switch remakes of the Professor Layton saga, ever since I got my Switch in 2017... Man, I love that series. Reading this makes me forfeit every little hope I still had left

@Bondi_Surfer I can imagine the trailer doesn't convince you. Perhaps I can. Layton games have a very compelling story, combined with absurd humor and dozens and dozens of challenging puzzles. If you don't like puzzle games, this isn't for you. If you like a challenging laid-back singleplayer game to accidentally spend 5-6 hours in a row on.. Go check them out.

I do have to say: the original Layton games have a more complicated main story arc, Katrielle's game has more of an 'episodic' feel to it's story. I prefer the first, some people prefer the latter.

Appearantly, this doesn't work with the game pass vouchers? At least, I can't get it to work. When I click 'use voucher', the only versions which pop up are explicitly without steelbook. Too bad.

@Matthewxcv I rock the dual reds now. Got them from amazon.co.jp, payed with mastercard and got they arrived within a week (Belgium, Europe). Total price: around 70 EUR including import fees! 10/10 would recommend
