@Donkey-Kong-Fan You can love what a company produces but still dislike the people behind them.
I can acknowledge Nintendo makes fun games while also pointing out their ***** practices over the years. The devs and the suits are two different sets of people. It's the suits in charge I dislike.
Nintendo fans sometime are blinded by their love for Nintendo to not see it's a corporation who's main goal is profit , not to be your buddy. There is no such thing a corporation being on the consumers side.
I just never understand why some fans go to bat for a company who only cares about your credit card.
@westman98 Maybe it won't be, but atleast now gamers will be able to play their entire game library without severe sacrifices due to limited hardware like the switch.
But hey, atleast Nintendo still has those upcoming 1st party games coming out sometime in 2022. For now ther'e Skyward Sword and Metroid! WOOHOO!
@MegaVel91 With all due respect, you may be a older fan but Nintendo is not looking at you. The only age group who care about that 90's movie are all in their late 30's to 50's by now.
Nintendo is targeting new younger audiences who may or not be familiar with Mario.
I really don't get why people are upset about this. Fans, especially the older ones, should be wise enough to know they aren't the sole target demographic for this film.
A Mario movie's first and foremost goal was to make sure it appeals to the family market. Particularly the ones with lots of small children.
@Carck Well to be fair Nintendo only has three major titles coming out. One was a 10 year old port, the second being a series that hasn't really been a sales smasher, and the third being a niche game series.
Good news however thanks to the pandemic, Nintendo has managed to gotten lucky and as such, Metroid as well as SMTV will sell well.
@Moistnado Well yeah but you can flip that and say there is nothing wrong with a character being a minority either.
I recall when Watch Dogs 2 and Assassins Creed Origins released. You had a small vocal crowd questioning they choose a black male protagonist (bayek isn't black but...)
They weren't focused on the gameplay, or that each story takes place in a diverse region. They were only upset the characters weren't white.
Didn't even know the plot but just looked at images and concluded it's "forced" diversity.

Re: The Fan-Made 2D Metroid Prime Game Has Been Forced To Shut Down
Man, I have seen so many other companies not only give support to fan made projects, but on rare occasions hire the people behind them.
Christian Whitehead started out as making fan games and went on to creating one the best Sonic games in recent memory.
Nintendo on the other hand doesn't want fans to even have a thought if it involves their characters.
The lackluster Super Mario All Stars port which was done way better, and seemed to have more care put into them on the pc than the switch.

Re: Dying Light Platinum Edition Is Heading To Switch
Woohoo, can't wait to see how much they had to sacrifice just to get it to run.

@nukatha
The classic "I don't like hearing negativity about my favorite corporation"
Re: Nintendo's Share Value Trends Downward As Investor Analyst Gives 'Sell' Advice
Covid gave switch a huge sales but 2021 was pretty lackluster imo. The only big announcement was a 10 year old port and Oled model no one asked for.
Re: Now, This Is What Next-Gen Pokémon Should Look Like
This trailer was stunning. With that said, Pokemon still makes millions of dollars regardless of quality. The franchise will sell nomatter what.
Until the day comes of people getting weary or a new game comes along and truly competes, we won't see anything no where near this close.

Re: XEL, A "Vibrant Sci-Fi Zelda-Like", Will Launch On Switch In 2022
Wow, I hope this game isn't 100% Zelda like and is unique it's own way to make it stand out.
Reminds me so much of the barrage of Souls like games. So much mediocre with only a handful of gems.
You only hurt your indie game more when you compare to already established highly praised franchises.
Re: Soapbox: Life Is Strange On Nintendo Switch Signals Better LGBTQ+ Rep To Come
@eaglebob345 Hey now we all know Japan has a fetish for white people, so of course all anime characters are white!
Re: Soapbox: Life Is Strange On Nintendo Switch Signals Better LGBTQ+ Rep To Come
@Moistnado Er.. i didn't mistake you for anyone. "Small vocal crowd" was referencing the people who had a problem with the two games I mentioned.
