Do we know if this is replacing the wii u? Maybe it's an innovative placeholder until their next home console is ready. Like a device that's meant to be played around a table like a board game. That could still be a dedicated gaming console.

I just don't understand how Nintendo can release a console without one of their legendary titles soon after. No metroid, Zelda coming at the end of the consoles life, and Mario kart and smash were 2 and 3 years in! Sure there was Mario u but that's not exciting. We need excitement.
I don't think amiibos would have the same appeal of it weren't for the shortages. That's part of what makes them special. I'm just waiting for when the cards come and will be used as cards in, say, a Pokemon trading card game for 3ds that uses amiibo cards that can also be used by themselves for an actual trading card game. It's coming at E3.
The way the squid amiibo looks is enough to excite me. I'm buying the pack just for it. I'm also hoping it will keep stats and have leaderboards for squads or platoons or...splatoons?
Also, shooting something other than bullets will be fun.
Does it bother anyone else that there hasn't been an original zelda title for 3ds? This could fill a zelda u gap, if they had planned on the two being compatible with each other and released simultaneously or some nonsense like that.
If they put rayman in before PLOK I think I'll throw my wii u in front of a bus. PLOK is much more nintendo than rayman. Work things out with the Pickfords already!
