@meeto_1 in fairness to the Australian Classification Board, the language is vague precisely because standards change. This phrase is supposed to allow for the definition of what is accepted to shift with society. That said they also have a habit of being really dumb and inconsistent. As mentioned above GTA Chinatown Wars was fine because you never take the drugs yourself. Fallout 4 (I think) was refused classification until they changed the name of one if the medications (from memory it was close to morphine, which is real and therefore bad).
We also didn't have an R18 raring until about 10 or 15 years ago, so anything that was rated R overseas got an MA15 rating here.
So yeah. Dumb. If this doesn't get sorted I'll definitely import.
@subpopz IIRC - in the US having a game rated is entirely voluntary anyway. Granted, most retailers will only sell rated games, but it's not legally required like it is in many countries, Australia included.
I know this is old now, but I was looking around earlier today and found that the Japanese PS Vita release was named "oretachi no sekai wa owatteiru". A google search later and I found a review that slams this as a (not as good) steins; gate clone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=416ZvfpT4vw
On another note, the gramattical error is intentional (probably). The Japanese title also contains an error (the 'wa' should be 'ha') but it's used as a password in-game and the characters keyboard is jammed (h-key is broken), so they use 'wa' instead. Don't know if anyone cares, but there you go
@KryptoKrunch On a related note, when I met the woman who is now my wife, she was wearing a geek love poem shirt that read: Roses are #FF0000 Violets are #0000FF All My Base are Belong to You
My favourite right now is still Hyrule Historia. I got 2 of my kids hooked on Zelda games thanks to that book, and by lending it to several kids at church I've also gotten heaps of the new generation of gamers into some of my favourite games. Its such a beautiful book, and shows the passion of the developers so well, it just hooks people in
This makes me very happy. I've played this heaps on my tablet and when they announced the console version I emailed and asked if they would go to switch since it was such a clear fit. They responded "who can say?".
For the doubters gameplay wise this is a simple sliding block puzzler with some clever mechanics as you go further. Aesthetically it's a glorious to 80's style B-grade slasher movies and it has a ton of fun with it's material. There have been killers based on almost every major horror/sci-fi franchise and it's just fantastic fun.
This is pretty fair. I loved the movie, so I really enjoyed the setting, fan-service etc. If you're not a fan of the movies though I can easily see how this would be kinda dissapointing. It's pretty linear, and feels like it shouldn't be.
One thing that bugged me that I don't see mentioned is the illogical placement of some health and ammo items. A few times in the game I'd leave the Save Room, and in the next room find a hidden area with a health pack and ammo, which were useless since the save room recharges everything anyway. Minor point, but those things would have been far more useful in areas away from save points
@6 Just in case you're serious - all DQ art is done by Akira Toriyama, who is also famous for the Dragonball series. It's not unfair to say his style across both franchises is similar.
Though if you're looking for reason why they're not releasing them in general here's my 2 cents.
Remember how people complained e when Ninty announced that the (free) GBA games wouldn't have save states, or VC menus etc? Maybe whatever they're doing to get GBA running on the 3DS prohibits them from adding anything like that, and so it doesn't really work as a proper sellable product.
That's my guess anyway. Soon they'll fix that, and we'll see them as downloadable titles and all will be right with the world.
Keen for this. Swords was not great.... Hopefully DQX will just add even more awesome that is the Wii's last year
Although a 3DS DQ would be welcome, I don't see them making XI for it, just because (so far) it hasn't got the massive user base that the DS (or the Wii, I suppose) has. Then again, that seems to be changing, so who knows?
I'm importing the US version anyway (since I won't wait for the euro version to hit Australia) so this makes no difference to me. Really dumb decision though, well done NOE
Oh hell yes This was a must have, even if they'd left out the London Life bonus, but I'm stoked they've kept it in .... Dunno how accurate 100 hours is though, seems a bit high... Still, this will be awesome
Tiny point - monster recruiting is not unique to the Joker sub-series, it's part of the monsters sub-series. Joker is just the name of the DQM games on the DS.
And in all fairness @5 - it's also your opinion that it looks the same as pokemon. Having played the first Joker game, and several DS pokemon games I'd agree with Oregano, they are actual 3D models and look much better than pokemon... But of course, that's just my opinion
Definietly good enough for me. I was always going to buy at launch, and the $350 AUD price point was what i expected. Does it bother me that they've dropped the price? No, more 3DS users can only be a good thing.
To be fair, I should admit that once I'd traded in my XL and a bunch of old games I ended up handing over $14 cash for my 3DS , so that means that each games is costing me less than a dollar
Ok, keeping this as short as I can (and ignoring those already announced): FF6, both Golden Suns, both Zeldas, M&L: Superstar Saga, and Metroid: Zero Mission.

Re: Square Enix Is Releasing A Demo For NEO: The World Ends With You
The demo lands on June 25th, not July 25th, so that's about a month before the full game launches...

Re: Undertale Creator Brings Deltarune To Switch eShop On 28th February
Just finished downloading, since you can 'Pre-Order' it... even though it's free. This means it's sitting on my switch unplayable for another 2 weeks
Guess I'll finish my genocide run, then reset and get my good ending back...

I'm going for option D.
Though if you're looking for reason why they're not releasing them in general here's my 2 cents.

Re: Feature: Remembering the Game Boy Advance
I still love my GBA games, hoping for more than just the 10 ambassador releases (though I'll manage if thats all there is)
My nearly 3 year old currently plays with my old GBA SP, and he loves it
Re: There's Hope for Layton vs. Phoenix Wright Outside Japan
Do want
Re: Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call Gets EU Release Date
I'll definitely import the US version, since Aussies won't get this for a while anyway, and I'm not missing out on London Life.

This sounds pretty sweet. I still won't play Zelda 2, cos I suck too much at it, but still..... nice list:)
Now tell me what the GBA games are please Ninty

Re: These 3DS Download Titles Are On Their Way This Year
Super keen for Mutant Mudds, and probably Mighty Switch Force... we'll see
Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword Hits Europe on 18th November
Why is everything coming out late this year??? Ah well, this will be great anyway
Re: Super Mario Land 2 and Metroid II Heading to 3DS Virtual Console
Definitely getting Metroid 2, not sure about SML though... we'll see
Re: The Last Story and Pandora's Tower Grace Europe in 2012
Yes. Yes I will. I'll probably have to import them unless Nintendo Australia surprises me, but I'll definitely get both of these
