I got bored quickly and quit by the end of the first tutorial game. The game is way too slow and too much effort to play, this would be better if you could use a trackball mouse to move in all directions quickly and the joycon to throw. This is little more than a tech demo, which reflected in the amount of effort put into the game and it's price. Not for me!
It would make sense if mario or bowser voices berated you for lying in. Are the coin sounds/splatoon gun fire meant to be annoying to get you out of bed sooner? I think this has its place reserved on the failed nintendo product list already.
Not a big fan of "tiles", what is this Windows 8 or something? It might look "professional" but does not aid navigation and makes articles look like they are in no particular order

It's difficult how to interpret this data. The market Nintendo created with the Wii is now going into the pockets of app developers and phone manufacturers. The core market is the preserve of "hardcore" games primarily on XBox and PS4, so where exactly is the room for Nintendo? The Big-N needs to disrupt the market again, but this time add something that cannot be snatched by mobiles.
Providing Nintendo IP as a teaser demo for a console based system makes a lot of sense. I hope that in addition Nintendo will provide companion phone applications to your console game (linked to your club Nintendo account) so you can play mini games to improve your HP, get extra lives, tips, notifications etc. back in the main console game. Using mobile games as a platform to keep the player interested and help make progress in a console game during brief "mobile" moments (waiting for the bus etc) would drive console game sales and keep you coming back to the console to redeem your mobile achievements.

I remember this being my Christmas present game in 2004! Really absorbing and just the right difficulty level and length for a portable Zelda. Loved the music too!
The Wii U has confused consumers because it does not offer enough benefit over the Wii for the average Wii user (of which there are millions) to upgrade. HD graphics is a basic expectation not a selling point, the gamepad looks cheap and offers little innovation in gameplay over the DS which was years its junior.
Nintendo need to do the following 1) Support an architecture to allow 3rd parties to easily port games and save dev costs. 2) Provide the ability to connect all previous controllers, gamepads etc and have full backwards compatibility. Consumers like re using stuff they have bought. Continue to support past controllers ongoing so new titles can use and drive controller sales. 3) Adopt a new graphical style. Nintendo games look like they have been using the same rendering engine for years and games are looking stale and outdated. Wii U games look like Wii games which look like 3DS and DS games causing consumers to be turned off innovative games because they just look the same as the last one! 4) Stop recycling old games! How many times do you need to re-release Mario Bros, provide new IP and more new games.
