I got a copy for myself and got three more copies when the game came back in stores. So far, the value is around $25 (accoring to videogamecharts.com), so I'm gonna wait until it shoots back up before I sell the three, even if I have to wait a year to do it.
It's been 5 years since the Virtual Console came out, and there's hardly a Mega Man X game at all...until now. Hopefully, both of the games will come here, too!
I might think about this before I buy it. I thought the 1st two LSW games were good and LEGO Indiana Jones was the best, but I always thought the Clone Wars TV show was too overhyped. I could give this game a go, though.
I think Iwata has totally hit the nail right on the head. Video games these days are totally on quantity, not quality. The "casual" games are so poorly made it's not even funny anymore, and the game manufacturers wonder why some people stick to retro games; because they're BETTER MADE!
"Sonic Drift 2, one of the first games that made Sonic fans ask 'if he's so fast, why is he in a car?' " It was also one of the first games to make Sonic fans to ask "Hey! Where's Sonic Drift 1?"
I believe Banjo-Kazooie are just MADE for Nintendo. Period. Their original models were screaming Nintendo all over it. Their new and blocky appearances just can't cut the mustard. I never did like the duo's new looks; Kazooie looks like she's half-drunk! I think Nintendo and Rare should get back together. Rare never has and never will belong to Microsoft.
This is one of the best articles I've ever read. I can think of other games that deserve to be released on the VC, such as the Mega Man X SNES trilogy, Mega Man Soccer, the Super Bomberman games (all of them, including Panic Bomber W!), the old Dragon Warrior games, to name a few. Also, I agree that the SNES versions of Yoshi's Cookie and Wario's Woods ARE superior! It all boils down to one thing: Nintendo got shortsighted about the VC and it is paying for it and we're rightfully screaming for more! Less WiiWare & DSiWare! More Retro!
I remember getting a Sega Genesis for Christmas of 1995. It came with Sonic 2 and we were fascinated by it all, and it was a good thing too, because my dad was deployed to South Korea at the time, and he had our SNES to keep him from getting bored.
Damien, I think you're being too cruel with this review. I do agree that it needs more stuff (such as more games and the ability to play as Luigi without 2-player mode), but I'm quite satisfied with this game. My biggest complaint is playing on a standard screen playing on widescreen mode. Shouldn't Nintendo at least make some wallpaper on the borders or something?
I still think Mario Party 1 should be released on VC (does the GameCube and Classic Controllers give blisters?). Oh well. I still have my copy, so no worries.
"Because, it’s better to enhance the completeness instead of completing it roughly in a hurry." That's something Sega needs to learn, otherwise most of the recent Sonic games wouldn't have flopped!
@Link79 I hear ya. It seems like EVERYTHING is on the phone these days. As for me, my cellphone's to primitive to play games (it's a Tracphone, so yeah.) and I would much prefer to play games on a video game system! What's wrong with playing games on a video game system?! Do we HAVE to play games on a smartphone?? Most of the games are shovelware and people are buying that garbage!! Check the SNES and Genesis! THOSE are good games! (passes out)
I already decided before I read the review not to buy it. Seriously, a glorified screensaver for the Wii? Why is Nintendo allowing this piece of garbage? They MUST be targeting the gullible, pea-brained, "cheesy app" people who don't know what the heck a Super Nintendo is!
I don't care how bad the game sells , I'm still gonna get SMAS Wii version (even though I already have the SNES version) The 16-bit SMB 3 is my favorite port!
Nice review. Personally, I think this game's the black sheep of the Magical Quest games. I think Magical Quest 3 is much better, good enough to rival even the first one IMO.

Re: ESRB Rating Outs Mega Man 5 for Virtual Console
I was wondering when the rest of the NES Mega Man games were gonna come. Maybe Mega Man 7 too?
Re: This Dr Lautrec Trailer Reminds Us of a Rather Devilish Puzzle
Professor Layton must challenge Lautrec! THAT would be an interesting crossover. 8-)
Re: Rejoin Master Higgins with Adventure Island II on Friday
@WaveBoy Even ol' Reggie knows the current state of the VC is pathetic.
Re: Super NES Classic Controller Visits Australian Club Nintendo
When are WE gonna get something like this? It almost seems we're the last to get all the really good stuff and the first to get all the useless stuff!

Whetever they do, I hope Sega doesn't bungle Sonic's 20th anniversary.
Re: Capcom Brings New Super Mario Bros. Wii to the Arcades
This is some of the coolest news I've heard in a long time! I wonder if it'll go internationally?
Re: Nintendo Download: 1st April 2011 (Europe)
Brawl Bros. sounds vaguely interesting. I remember the first time I took a quick glance at the box: I thought it was a beat-em-up game starring Mario!
Re: Review: Madden NFL Football (3DS)
It almost seems that the 3DS is getting a bunch of weak launch titles, but I bet it'll pick up steam before too long, just like the PS3.
Hey all you British! Wanna play a game of "football"?

Re: Review: The Sims 3 (3DS)
I ROFL'd at the summary. That's a good one!

Hopefully we'll get Final Fantasy 3/6 maybe next Monday?
Re: Scratch That, There's Three Adventure Island Games Coming to Virtual Console
Cool! Even though the gameplay deviated from its roots, I kinda like SAI 2. Music's pretty good for one thing!
Re: Review: Bomberman Hero (Virtual Console / Nintendo 64)
Personally, I'd give this game an 8/10. It's a good game despite no multiplayer.
Re: Review: My Little Restaurant (DSiWare)
Ho hum. Another cheap iphone-esque game that is plaguing the video game market today.
Re: Nintendo Download: 7th March 2011 (North America)
Cool! Bomberman Hero! I'm gonna get that one.

It looks like Hudson hasn't abandoned us. I wonder if we're gonna get Bomberman 64 soon?
@BlueBandanaJake It's called Bomberman 64: The Second attack.
Re: Hudson Continues Its Virtual Console Support with Adventure Island II
At least we know that Hudson ain't dead yet. But next time we see a Bomberman game, it might be under Konami's logo.
Re: Man Arrested for Blackmailing Nintendo with Stolen User Data
Boy, I'm glad it ain't from America. Ol' Fils-Aime wouldn't stand for it!

Re: Talking Point: Your Nintendo Moment of 2010
The E3 moment. Sony and Microsoft bombed this year, but Nintendo stole the whole show!

Re: Review: The Great Circus Mystery Starring Mickey & Minnie (Super Nintendo)
@StarBoy91
It's the only Magical Quest game to be ported to the Genesis/Mega Drive. It's not as good as the SNES version. I know. I played it before.
