@GoldenGamer88 I thought I heard during the Direct/Treehouse event that the Echo characters have either slightly altered move-sets or different animations or something, but my phrasing wasn't probably best put, bad day at work kind of made my brain melt a bit, my bad. I'm hoping that Echo characters are not literally just clones but named differently though.
I love the new Echo system in the game rather than having “clone” characters taking up slots. The designs of Zelda and Marth look absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to see who else they will reveal and what stages they show. The Inkling will be a fun but strategical character I think but I will certainly give them a try.
I’m just waiting for the other 2 treehouses to be over just to watch the stock rise again after some secret reveal they’ve been holding back. I’m not surprised or disappointed at all by this, but I think Nintendo do have some secrets that they will reveal. A lot of people have forgot Nintendo said the focus would be on Smash so of course they’d show a lot of it but I admit they could have shown just a few more games or even more details for the games they’d shown.
There is no surprise that FC5 and God of War came in the top 2 but Labo having 3rd and 20th place is a surprise to me. I’d like to see how it holds up next week. I’m also surprised to see Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in 5th and Super Mario Odyssey in 8th and just noticed BoTW in 13th. The UK is a hard market for Nintendo but this to me is a brilliant result. It’s just a shame that people in the UK don’t give Nintendo more of a chance.
I’ve just got Rocket League and had a quick play over the weekend and can’t believe how much fun it is! Such a great game and I will need to play online at some point just to see how insane some people can play!
I would like to get Labo at some point as I know some people that will just spend hours creating and customizing their creations, I'll need to start saving up.
If I wanted to use a close-combat weapon, this would be my choice! But I like keeping my distance and using my Heavy Splatling Deco. The Bubble Blower is far too much fun to use, although that Ink Storm is tempting....
@BRAINFOX Any special edition with a FULL soundtrack added in is always a sign of good quality IMO and I fully agree that it is the highlight of this special edition.
When I first saw that title with that thumbnail I thought those 1up Shrooms were art of the package! Then after reading into it a bit I found out it was just censorship and I was slightly saddened there are not 1up Shrooms in the EE, curse you NL for fooling me!
Joking aside I’m always up for a good VN and I want to see how dark the game gets along with the “censorship” apparently in the game. I’m a sucker for any form of special editions of games and will probably be getting this in the future.
@Yosher Yeah fair point, I will need to try it out before I can say for certain but I just hope there is more mini-games like in Power Tennis though. I would also like to try the online and see how competitive people will be with using it or not, hopefully there will be an online Simple Mode as well for those not keen but I can see that not happening.
This is definitely a solid direct. There was a lot of great stuff mentioned, although some of it not for me. My highlights are:
Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion Loved the campaign, still finishing it with all the weapons (done around half of them) and what they had shown looks even more fun, also being able to play as Octolings online? YES!!!
Super Smash Bros: Inklings were inevitable to be added but it’s fantastic to know they’re officially in it and we’re getting a Smash Bros game this year. I can’t wait to find out more, they will have to show off something at E3.
Ocotpath Traveller: A fantastic game and that SE I want so bad just for that pop-up book more than anything! This game came as a surprise at first but after playing the demo I can’t wait, it’s a day 1 for me!
Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido: It seems I loved the look of this at E3 last year and now I know it’s coming out in June, I can’t wait for it. It looks so simple but so fun and silly I really want to play this online and locally with other people as I can see some insane matches!
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy: Loved the original back on the PS1 but never got to play any of the others and it’s good to see this coming to the Switch, I’ll be reliving some nostalgia when I get this!
@Yosher I'm undecided if I like the new gimmicks in this or not. But I am with you with the Power Shots in Mario Power Tennis, I've had many fun times playing against my friends with some close matches and some well timed Power Shots.
I've enjoyed all the Mario Tennis games (even Ultra Smash to a degree) and this one looks like it could do really well and luckily there is the option to have it off in the Simple Rules Mode but I don't really want to buy this just to spend most of my time in Simple Rules if I don't like the gimmicks and have to be forced to use them in the story and (hopefully) other game modes like in Mario Power Tennis!
@Anti-Matter I don't mind people complaining about ports, I actually can understand why but we don't know much about the new Smash and people are stating it's a port as a fact! That is what irritates me about the whole "Smash is a port". I am eager to know if it really will be a port or if it is a new game altogether though and I really want to try the inklings out. No doubt they will add more variety to an already large roster of characters!
Already people are saying it a port?? There is nothing to suggest it is or isn’t a port (as far as I can tell) from this trailer. If they showed of more, we will know but simply saying it’s a port from this alone. Port or not I will be getting this when it’s out and the Inklings are a solid fit into the game!
Even if it is a port, is that really a bad thing? It was a huge hit on the Wii U and it would sell so well on the Switch! If there is GC controller support then even better! But in all this is definitely a solid announcement and people have wanted this since Smash 4! Now because people are assuming it’s a port it’s dampened the hype? I understand ports can be annoying but I understand why there are ports and it’s not always a bad thing. I can’t wait to play at the Inklings in the new Smash! So very excited!
