Civilization Revolutions should be a no-brainer for people that are intimidated by the mainline series. Those games are kid-friendly and low-key fun. Mafia ports would work too.
What I’d REALLY want though is a remaster (or even a port) of the classic Sid Meier games. Pirates still really holds up, and while I never tried the flight games, that would be cool too.
Either way - kind of love 2K bringing Switch love. It’s a bummer that the price is so different across platforms for the new collections, but I bet they run deals on them regularly if you can wait. Even so, those are still totally worth $50 to catch up on Bioshock or Borderlands or XCOM.
@Nerdfather1 I played this on Xbox and it’s really great. The humor and charm is what totally makes it for me with the snarky AI on the ship, parody commercials and other small details. The gameplay actually reminded me of Metroid Prime in a lot of ways.
@The_Pixel_King get around to it!! Golf Story is funny and charming and totally worth it. You’re welcome for the nudge. Also love What the Golf? too!
Now might be a great time for a release date for Sports Story. I don’t care if it’s half done - the lack of sports in our lives makes it the perfect time. Release it. Arnie voice Release it naaauwww!
@johnvboy sure hope so! I’d love a new Mario Golf game... I actually love the gameboy version with challenges and more of an RPG feel, but all of them are great in their own way.
I’m actually glad to see this coming. I’m not a big fan of golfing, but there’s something relaxing about these games. Golf Story is great and also scratches that itch. And What The Golf? is an amazing non-golf golf game coming soon worth checking out too! Just some ideas to prepare. Thanks 2K for bringing this over!
I’d really love an Astral Chain 2 logo or a Capcom collab + Viewtiful Joe or Okami sequel announcement. I’d be happy for a Bayonetta 3 release date and teaser. I’d be good with a Viewtiful Joe 1&2 remaster or DLC announcement.
But honestly, I’m good either way. Excited to dig into the Wonderful 101 remaster this month!
@JSDude1 Totally! Install base matters, especially if you want more innovative, original content. I don’t think we would have gotten Astral Chain from Platinum - my personal game of 2019 - if Switch hadn’t sold so well (or at least Wonderful 101 being rebooted). I don’t think Square would have given the green light to Bravely 2 without that and the Octopath reception either. And who can argue with the hope that more new console gamers will make us feel like we have a chance of being competitive in Smash (as unlikely as that is)!
This one’s not for me, BUT I hope it’s good and AC helps sell a lot of switches to support more game development (and a bigger marketing budget for more frequent directs)! Here’s hoping we learn about the full 2020 lineup soon.
I played this one on Xbox and loved it. Echoing other comments - it’s a solid, short experience. There are some more walking sim elements (like in a Gone Home or Edith Finch), but they’re really well done and the puzzles are great.

I thought this was great on iOS. It’s weird and sweet and well written. Totally worth the $$ and time and really well done.
