@Whirlwound I see, in this case you are more prepared than myself was đ Best of luck with the Thor, brilliant device, especially if you like tinkering with such things (and, according to what you wrote you are the kind đ ) .
@Whirlwound Just take easy on the Thor. If I may add some experiance to that: I just got my Thor 1 week ago, configured and played the hell out of it since. It is VERY different experience than either the Switch or the Deck. On one side you are given a ready to use fantastic ecosystem, which is fenced but user friendly. On the other side you get the total freedom of emulating ANYTHING (frankly, seeing GTA V, Fallout 4 and others running on a freaking Android device is truly an elevating experience), but practically you are in a jungle in which you must cut your way theough fiddling with roms and installing nightly turnip drivers. Donât get me wrong, Thor is a great device, but it doesnât give you anything out of the box, just be prepared for that.
@the_beaver âall the big titles on the Switch 2 day oneâ Nice example of wishful thinking, because so far I donât really see a slightly near situation like that you described. Also for future I see that announced games scarcely make their way to Switch 2. At the same time I really hope that from the two of us you will be the one who will be right on the long run đ
@Nintendo4Sonic If card speeds are slow, that doesnât justify GKC. If really this is the case, Nintendo should also allow installation from card (containing the full game) to internal memory. Instead, Nintendo wants you to buy GKC, because it is good for them financially. GKC is not phisycal, no matter how some try to interpret like that.
Original Switch was my very first Nintendo rig, got it in 2018 . At that time it opened me a torally new world with endless, portable joy. I wasnât bothered by âfew AAA games get Switch releaseâ thing, because âmiracle portsâ and first party titles with added portability and physical option was just the perfect mix for me. Just for context, now I have over 200 games for Switch 1. That changed significantly by the Switch 2. I preordered first day. Based on the first 6 months my experiences: 1. First party titles are fine for me, especially in physical form. 2. Third party AAA support I still find meh. I know, there should be some time to ramp up, but still, i feel it reluctant. And while âmiracle portsâ is still a thing (CP2077, SW, Outlaws, AC, âŚ)I feel bad seeing that sometimes even 30 fps is challenging for the hardware. Simply I donât see Switch 2 futureproof, especially with comments about slow storage and such. 3. GKC: Frankly, if Nintendo would heve been taken this step with Switch 1, it would be a total fail. GKC is a fckn plague, and customers cannot punish Nintendo enough with voting with their wallets and spending money to buy GKC titles on other platforms instead. Thats my opinion.
In 2022 I got a Steam Deck. Between 2022-25 if a game existed on both platform, I chose Switch, even with âSwitch taxâ just to support Nintendo. Now I only buy Switch games if: 1. It is physical OR 2. It does not run well on SD (Hello, SW Outlaws), but only in digital only In every other case I go for Steam version. And tobbe honest it is better for my wallet too.
So from my side it is a hard 7. Hoping it will get better.
Wonderful design, fantastic game all on cart, extra download code for music (MP3 AND lossless), nice art booklet included as well. Now THAT is how you treat your customers. GKC miserable companies, take note!
Hyrule Warriors for me. MK physical preordered, too. Also, AC Shadows, on Steam đ (There is a nice -40% sale now). Aaaaaaand the âUtterly Evilâ-Prize for this month goes to Square Enix. Pushing this fckn GKC approach AND not providing upgrade path for those who buys S1 version is way beyond the usual level, it is simply evil. I hope S2 sales will reflect for them how bad this approach is.
Really? They push the bs that GKCs are good for the customers etc. And AFTER they see the hate overflowing towards GKCs, suddenly comes a guy and provides âtechnicalâ mumbo-jumbo reasoning. Totally belivable. Oh wait, itâs not.
@Spacey Day before yesterday i got the error message all the time. Yesterday morning I tried again and error ceased so I was able to order. Hope it clears soon for US as well.

Absolutely. These companies just work this way. Any more questions?
