Re: Video: Court Is In Session For Ten Minutes Of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice

@BensonUii Yeah, Apollo Justice was a nightmare for me to track down online, but it's worth it! Don't forget about the Miles Edgeworth games as well, they're worth your money too!

I'm trying really hard not to spoil myself on any plot points, so I'm not gonna watch the video, but it's becoming incredibly difficult to not look at Spirit of Justice news, I just want the game now!!!

Re: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice to Arrive on the 3DS eShop in September

@DarkKirby Unfortunately though, after 5 main series games, a Miles Edgeworth spinoff game, and a crossover with Professor Layton, they can't just retcon the localisation. I do understand where you're coming from, and it is obvious at times even in the localised versions that they take place in Japan (especially in cases like the monstrous turnabout), but we can't just ignore all the work that the localisation team has done over the years. There is a team doing a fan translation though, and it seems to be quite far along, so you'll probably be able to play it soon btw, I love that comic!

Re: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice to Arrive on the 3DS eShop in September

BranJ0

@DarkKirby It's due to the fact that it takes place in such a distinctly Japanese setting. All of the previous localisations have claimed the games are in North America, so to suddenly move the whole series to Japan is a bit strange. Also, there are parts in the game that take part in England, and the Japanese characters cannot understand what the English characters are saying. This makes it very difficult to explain if the main characters are talking in English, so that's probably why they've opted out of localisation.

Re: Review: Super Meat Boy (Wii U eShop)

BranJ0

I think it's a bit harsh to not give it those two extra points simply because it doesn't have any new features. I know that it basically means that there's no reason why it was delayed for Wii U, but they probably just focused on other consoles due to their larger user base, with no intention of ever putting new innovations on the Wii U. In my opinion, I think a game should only be marked down for not having interesting gamepad integration if it could have benefitted from it but, tbh, there's nothing that the gamepad could bring to this game that would improve it in any meaningful way. At least, that's my view, I really dislike innovations just for the sake of it.

Re: GAME Grabs UK Exclusivity of Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition

BranJ0

@JAG2045 I know! I wouldn't even have found out that I missed the opportunity to preorder had nintendolife not published this article! I can't imagine it's that hard for nintendo to email people interested in the special edition, but apparently it is, because there are now tons of people without the special edition who wanted it...
@Schro Thanks for the heads up, unfortunately I might have to pass on this, considering it's roughly 95 quid, and I really don't have enough money

Re: GAME Grabs UK Exclusivity of Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition

BranJ0

@AJ_Okami Oh...well that's annoying thanks for letting me know, I guess I'll just have to buy the separately then. I still find this to be a very strange move on nintendo's part, why would they not want to meet the demand!? It's not as if they're not aware of it, they just seem to be flat-out ignoring what consumers want.

Re: Review: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team (Wii U eShop / DS)

BranJ0

@AyeHaley If you don't want to spend too much money, and aren't sure about going into the series, then I would really recommend going for the Explorers games (Explorers of Sky is the best option, a bit like Pokemon Platinum is to Diamon and Pearl). Whilst I'm not sure how good Super Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is since I haven't played it yet, the Explorers games are phenomenal, you really should try them

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life's Favourite Pokémon Games - 20th Anniversary Edition

BranJ0

@Zoda_Fett I think that mega evolutions are undoubtedly the best thing X and Y brought to the series, they make battles even more tactical and enjoyabl. However, other generations in the series had similar if not better innovations to the gameplay, but they did not suffer because of it. I don't think you can excuse the faults in X and Y just due to the slight change they introduced to the battle formula.

Re: Reaction: The Pokémon Direct Was Short and Slick, But Had a Blunted Impact

BranJ0

I think that the problem with this direct was that it needn't have been a nintendo direct at all. There were two pieces of news that, although pleasing, were nothing spectacular, simply because one (the virtual console games with pokemon bank) was quite expected, and the other was just the reveal of the titles. It feels that they made this fairly small piece of news into a whole direct just because they realised that we have not had one at all in 2016. I personally would have preferred this news to be announced slightly later in the year alongside a full direct, with the games having a trailer to accompany them.
