Music is a huge part of games for, they can either make or break it (I don't know why, it just does for me), so I'm really glad good ol' Retro tunes are in here. I presume of course it sounds 8-bit? Everything does sound better 8-bit after all
I'll be DLing this when Pop Plus comes out (speaking of that, where is it anyway?), this way, I can get 1000 DSi Points, and spend them at once without spending the remaining 500 on something stupid and then have Pop come out right after (like it always does for me ).
This has so much potential. Volleyball, surfing, the list goes on and on. Howver, these may be too difficult for the WiiMote, so I guess they're sticking with what will work, unfortunately.
This has been a huge Nintendo year so far. We've got Excitebots, Little Kings Story, Swords & Soldiers, Rhythm Heaven, Punch Out!, Klonoa, the list goes on and on. My only problem is that I don't have the cash necessary for all of this
Double Dash always stirs up controversy. Its one of those "love or hate" games. It's either your favorite Mario Kart, or least favorite Mario Kart. I have (oddly) yet to find a person who is in the middle.
I remember when this was first announced and I wondered why it was E10+. Then some guy gave the descriptions from ESRB talking about it's Suggestive Themes. I loled so hard
9/10? A bit much Matt. More like an 8. Its certainly a good game, however it is a remake, and despite a good one, not worthy of a 9. Maybe I'm just harsh on games, but when I describe DKJB, I don't say it was "Fantastic", but rather "Great." I believe "Great" corresponds to an 8. I don't know why, but after you guys all merged into NintendoLife I have seen a huge amount of 9s. When a game got a 9 on WWW it was a "Really!? That's awesome, insta-buy!" but now it's more of a "I guess I'll look into it," which is the feeling I got from the 8s at WWW.
@Corbie: If it does, then I'm sure all of us here will laugh our asses off.
As for the avatar, I agree, it does fit me better (kind of like how everybody likes the mushroom on Daz better but doesn't admit it due to fear of being banned ).
Plus, I was tired of skipping my posts while scrolling down because I couldn't recognize my avatar
Great article. I personally find that everyone here is finding one flaw. Is the Wii hardcore. Is Nintendo hardcore. I'd argue yes.
Just name every 1st party Wii game you can. Galaxy, MP3, LoZ: TP, FE, Punch-Out.... Oh, what's this. Are all these titles hardcore? You bet they are. With the exception of some stuff such as Wii Music, Nintendo sure as hell is still making great hardcore games.
But what makes the Wii casual is the sheer lack of 3rd party support. The 1st party 360 games aren't what's keeping the system afloat (I can only think Halo and Gears right now), it's the 3rd party guys who make things like Bioshock and Street Fighter IV. The Wii lacks this 3rd party support, I can only name a small handful of great 3rd party Wii games.
@DaVeMa: There's multiple. One involving a bomb, another involving a missile, and another involving the son of the bad guy (being vague so people who haven't played it won't be spoiled). Those moments make you go "Oh my God. What just happened!?!" In the good way of course.
@AlexSays: Buy it. It's absolutely fantastic. Amazing campaign, great multiplayer, extreme replay value. It's a total package.
I have a question. You said that in the lobby you voted on the game type for the next match. Now, does that mean you have no control over what type you want to play? If I want to play TDM then is there a lobby for playing TDM only? That was my biggest problem with Halo 3, so if that's in the Conduit I might actually pass on one of my more antcipated titles.
Analog is way more precise, plus doesn't tire my arms out. Though I have no problem with some motion (Super Mario Galaxy) I definitely don't want to have games overuse motion controls, which many Wii games do (de Blob).
@Corbie: I guess that piece of plastic is useful for something after all
Also, great review. I've been waiting ages for it (I was actually coming onto this site to just ask when the review was coming out ). This pushes it up from a "possible" to "must buy"......
When I'm done being addicted to Call of Duty 4 that is
Agreed. I mean, we are the only major country that doesn't use metric (I think Zimbabwe, Africa is the only other country in the world). And seriously, you play foot ball with your foot.

@Objection_Blaster: It's a conspiracy man!
Re: Review: Swords & Soldiers (WiiWare)
I want this, sooooo badly. I'm happy it did well in the review
@Drake: If this had online-multiplayer, would this be a 10?
Re: Namco's Muscle March Possibly Most Bizarre WiiWare Game Yet
LOL at the tags, WTF
Re: Check Out Some Final Fantasy IV: The After Years Gameplay
WHAT? 9 episodes!? And I bet you anything they will be 800 points each, and that makes it $72, which would be more than a regular in-store game!
I will only accept episodes if they are 500 points each (even that is too expensive at $40 for a 16-bit downloadable title).
Re: First Impressions: Contra ReBirth
@Sean: Ah, fair enough. But seriously, Contra 4 was our rebirth. Am I the only one bothered by this?
Re: Two Tribes Announces Toki Tori Contest
@Stevie: I bet Chicken Brutus is already working hard right now
Re: First Impressions: Contra ReBirth
Wait, Contra Rebirth? Didn't we have Contra 4 for that.....
@Sean: You promised it to us by the end of the week last week. You're late. You herby have to give all members of NintendoLife staff free copies
Re: Rampant Speculation: IGN Teases New 'Hardcore' Title
It does kinda look like Golden Axe.......if you close one eye.......then the other.....
@bbb: I see you're just as wise cracking here as you are on Neo

Re: Nintendo Download: Swords & Soldiers and Even More Magic Tricks
Hoho, lucky Europeans. Ah well, as long as the review comes out by Monday, I don't mind.
Review with Godspeed NintendoLife staff!
Re: Review: Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (GameCube)
Deserves this score.. My favorite Mario Kart by far. I especially enjoyed the Bomb-Omb battle. One of the best GCN games.
Oh, and first

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (13th May)
Woohooo! Mega Man is back
Re: Podcast: Episode 3 - The Conduit Interview
Love the podcast, though like Daz, I am spoiled with FPS on my 360.
@Dazza: You guys going to make a story on the new Bit. Trip. (Core) soon?
Re: Little Mac in live-action Punch-Out!! commercial
Hoho, this is great. No people talking about shopping in animal crossing or people partying, just good old gaming commercial
This is almost as good as those old Sega Saturn commericals
Re: Nintendo Download: 12 May 2009 (Japan)
I await your impressions Sean. Hopefully they will arrive soon (unlike the Excitebots review ).

Re: Swords & Soldiers Wages War in Europe Next Week
I switched my avatar back to good ol' Geno
The only bad part it seems is lack of online, but hey, it's WiiWare.
Re: Swords & Soldiers Wages War in Europe Next Week
YEEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!
.......for Europe. Europe sure has been lucky these past few weeks, and this tops it off. This is my most-anticipated WW title, and I can't wait!
And the best part is, Corbie isn't gonna review it, meaning that it'll get more than a 7/10! Huzzah
Re: Zelda: Spirit Tracks To Appeal To a Wider Age Group?
@bbb: My God, you're here too! Does everybody on Neo that I know seem to have an account here?!
And as always, I agree (though it is a few paragraphs less than usual ).
Re: Review: Animal Crossing Clock (DSiWare)
What would you give it if it was packed with the calculator?
Re: Review: Pic Pic (DS)
This looks sweet. I'll buy it when it comes out
Re: Rampant Speculation: What's Nintendo Showing Off?
Wait.......What?
ExciteFox?
Re: Modern Warfare 2 Wii-bound?
I'll be sticking to the 360 version, but still, nice to see more Wii stuff.

Re: First Impressions: The Conduit Multiplayer Madness
@DaVeMa: Gah, never mind. But yeah, the end was awesome. I love how everybody censored.
@Nanaki: Aw. Guess I'll have to wait for proper reviews then.
Re: First Impressions: The Conduit Multiplayer Madness
@DaVeMa: I was talking about the part of the mission at the very end where he censored himself.
And by satellite, I assume you mean AC130 plane? And yes, it was awesome
Re: First Look - Pop Plus: Solo
@Corbie: New avatar. Sweet. New and different while still staying same ol' Corbie.
As for the game, highly anticipated. Looks like great Pick Up & Play, but I'll have to wait for Corbie's 7/10 - I MEAN REVIEW!

Re: First Impressions: The Conduit Multiplayer Madness
@DaVeMa: Gears isn't a First-Person shooter, so it is not valid here
And did you finish CoD4's campaign? It starts off slow but really picks up when censored due to epic spoilers.

@Shadx: I highly doubt there is 100% nudity. It probably goes down to only underwear.
Re: Sexy Poker Headed to WiiWare

Re: Sexy Poker Headed to WiiWare
I can't wait for Sean's impressions on this one
Re: First Impressions: Monster Hunter 3 (Tri~)
sigh
It's a shame that some guy at Capcom said it won't come to NA
Re: Review: Pokémon Red and Blue (Game Boy)
@kawaiipickachu: It takes about 24 to beat the Elite Four, but 40 to capture all the Pokemon.
Oh, and for the review, Ash was made for the TV show, he had no "real" name in game like the others (ex- Ruby has Brendan as the boy).
Re: The Conduit: More Multiplayer Details Revealed
@Bulbasaurus: It's rated T.
Ranking system? I'll only approve if its like CoD4 where you unlock new stuff as you gain levels. Otherwise, I could care less.
Re: Review: Pokémon Red and Blue (Game Boy)
Needs more 10/10. But still, great review.

OMG!!!! That guy in comment #2 has my avatar
On the releases, I think Clubhouse is overpriced. 200 would have made it a good buy though.

Football......football.....football..........
GAH! Why do us Americans have to call it soccer!!!
@Wiiloveit: Good to see you updating your site. Havn't been there in a while due to lack of activity.
