Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Pokémon Scarlet And Pokémon Violet?

ArceusSupremacy

@Royalblues I feel, and I could be very wrong, that they just don't care anymore to make Pokémon that look cool or really cute, they just make them weird so people make a lot of memes about them.

The worst things were the ultra beasts, gosh sorry James turner but I don't like your taste for Pokémon, he also praised Sobble's evolutions, which were atrocious.

Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Pokémon Scarlet And Pokémon Violet?

ArceusSupremacy

@Royalblues I gave up on Pokémon designs since gen 6, to me, most of them look really stupid and ugly, in XY and especially SM I wasn't even able to get a full team with local Pokémon I like, gosh I hate the Alola Pokemon.

In SWSH it was a little better, I ended up with a team of "kinda cool" galarian Mons.

So I'm not hopeful for Gen 9 mons, don't like the starters at all, they all look like fakemons.

Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Pokémon Scarlet And Pokémon Violet?

ArceusSupremacy

It's open world Pokémon, of course I'm excited! 🌟

Just hope it has most of the stuff from Legends, maybe not the dodging stuff and Pokémon trying to kill you, not that I didn't like it, I just think it doesn't fit modern era Pokémon, but other than that, I would like pretty much everything to come back.

I hope the world is interesting and has a lot of cool towns, the big town in the trailer already looks so huge and amazing to explore.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet Announced, Releasing Worldwide On Switch In "Late 2022"

ArceusSupremacy

@Xansie after rewatching the trailers many times, I think this looks better than Arceusy and maybe it's even the best looking mainline game, but the environment textures still look like a bad Gamecube port, it looks like Sunshine in 3D All Stars.

Heck, even Galaxy and SSHD had better textures and those were ports of Wii games.

But of course, the models themselves look much better than in those other games.

Re: Promotion Of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Reveal "Significantly Reduced" Due To "Major World Events"

ArceusSupremacy

Yeah that was really noticeable. Only the english and japanese channels premiered the event, and there wasn't a big build up on twitter or anything, especially considering it's a new gen.

But other than that, the official websites are really basic, there's still no new article on the Switch feed, no eShop page.

It feels like a lot of stuff was going against this reveal.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet Announced, Releasing Worldwide In "Late 2022"

ArceusSupremacy

@Brutchie-bear yes, I love Arceus, but it still deserves heavy criticism for the visuals.

I'm not saying the game is gonna be bad, just saying the reveal was bad.

Arceus got me more excited because they should some revolutionary Gameplay in the first teaser, here they just showed bad looking environments, how am I supposed to get hyped this way?

I will, when they show gameplay.

@RadioHedgeFund

1. This comment shows you don't know arcades. Arcades had 8 directions, so it's fundamentally different from D-Pads and from an ergonomics perspective, analog sticks are off course way more similar.

2. This is objectively just not true. The majority of successful SF pros play either stick or arcade controller. Your perspective is only true for conservatives that stick to the D-Pad instead of trying something new, you can have way quicker reactions and fluid movements on a stick. The D-Pad is more precise, sure, if you're ultra casual, this might compensate for how slow you're gonna be.

End Result: you stop yourself from enjoying any fighting game on Switch just because you're a d-pad-slave.

Re: Capcom Will Share More Street Fighter 6 News This Summer

ArceusSupremacy

@Specter_of-the_OLED lol that could only come from an MK fan.

SF is still popular, it's no MK11 but it sold over 5 million copies. It's still a Top 5 Fighting game in popularity.

And your logic doesn't make much sense, if Capcom was unhappy with the series, which I could see, they probably expected more from SF5 but with all the mistakes they did on launch they should be happy it sold anything more than 1-2 million, anyway if they were unhappy that would be more reason to port it to everything.

Re: Capcom Will Share More Street Fighter 6 News This Summer

ArceusSupremacy

@Anti-Matter I would be completely fine with playing SF6 with MH Rise graphics level or even a bit worse on my Switch, a 100% prefer that over buying it on PS5, even if I had one.

I bought MK11 on PS4 and I barely touched it, because it's not portable ( I don't have a TV in my room right now so that s*cks, my 2017 iMac has no HDMI in unfortunately, fu Apple, although it's a great machine lol).

Re: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Has Already Sold Over 6.5 Million Copies Worldwide

ArceusSupremacy

I think people are not getting how sensational these numbers are.

Also, the author of this article should have put in the effort to look for more relevant information:

SWSH and BDSP sold 6 million in it's first week. Most people were prognotisizing PLA to sell less than SWSH and BDSP.

These numbers are huge for PLA, hopefully the game becomes the best-selling Pokémon game on Switch, to send Game Freak the right message, and send Masuda straight to retirement, since he was the one that said a Pokemon like this would not work.

Re: Talking Point: A Poképro And A Pokénoob Discuss Pokémon Legends: Arceus

ArceusSupremacy

Very fun article!

Personally, even as a huge fan of Gens 1-5, I really don't understand how anyone could even think about comparing any of the other games to PLA.

Imo, PLA is by very far the best Pokémon game ever, in terms of gameplay, quality of life, and story, it absolutely humiliates all other Pokémon games, it's just worlds better. Kazumasa Iwao is the God of GF!!!

I hope Gen 9 is PLA with lots of towns, voice acting and maybe better graphics. And that it doesn't come out this year, take your time Game Freak.

Re: US Pokémon Physical Sales Just Reached Their Highest Annual Total Since The Year 2000

ArceusSupremacy

@johnvboy you have not answered to the data I presented you about the low sales im 2020, which proves you have no arguments.

You're used games argument is a joke, that's very irrelevant and shows a lack of understanding how Pokémon works, the game had DLC that everyone agrees is the best part of the game. And even you think the game is bad, you can still keep doing raids and shiny hunts.

Also, you can't find cheap used copies for pretty much any first party Switch game, at least not where I live, they a cost 10 euros max less than new ones.

Again, high sales don't equal customer happiness at all, that's a completely silly line of thinking, as I already said, by that logic FIFA is the best game in the world. That's the ultimate proof that your argument is just completely false and has zero logic to it.

Re: US Pokémon Physical Sales Just Reached Their Highest Annual Total Since The Year 2000

ArceusSupremacy

@iLikeUrAttitude Battle frontier does not matter as much because it's post-game, other remakes included content from third versions that were very relevant to the campaign.

DP is not just my personal opinion, the vast majority of fans agrees that Platinum was the far superior version, from all classic games, DP are one of the most if not most critisized ones by the community.

You are saying being faithful is not bad, staircase corners and grid movements is an example of being faithful being objectively bad, and still you defend these remakes.

Re: US Pokémon Physical Sales Just Reached Their Highest Annual Total Since The Year 2000

ArceusSupremacy

@johnvboy that's completely illogical. It surprises me that people are not able to think about the stuff they say.

How are people supposed to know if they like a game before buying it? Tell me? The disappointing sales of SWSH in 2020 very much suggests the game has a very bad word of mouth. The games sold only 3 million copies despite being brand new and even having DLC hyping it up, this is less than many other older games that have not gotten any content for years, like BOTW, Smash, Mario Kart, Odyssey, even Super Mario Party, New Super Mario Bros. all sold better in 2020. What's the difference between those and SWSH?
Those are generally seen as good games.

You are being incredibly stubborn, you're not in the Pokémon community, you're analyzing sales in a very simplistic and non-sensical way. I'm delivering arguments and numbers, you aren't delivering anything and just being stubborn for no reason.

By your logic, FIFA is one of the best games in te world and the fanbase is totally happy, you probably aren't in that community as well so I tell you people are not happy, but the games still sell.

Re: US Pokémon Physical Sales Just Reached Their Highest Annual Total Since The Year 2000

ArceusSupremacy

@iLikeUrAttitude I don't like DP, so of course being faithful to DP is bad imo. There was a much superior version of the game, Platinum,
the vast majority of people agree that Platinum is just the superior version.

And other remakes like HGSS and ORAS included things from third versions, with the difference that they already were based on good games.

When the vast majority of people agree that the original version is inferior, being faithful to that version is just incredibly stupid.

Trying to emulate a game's limitations caused by the hardware even though doing so will make your game a lot worse, is even objectively stupid. Or will you try to tell me you like the staircase corners? NPC movement stuck to a grid? You love that as well because it's faithful?

I completely agree with Arlo, I would be ashamed of releasing BDSP.

Re: US Pokémon Physical Sales Just Reached Their Highest Annual Total Since The Year 2000

ArceusSupremacy

@Dr_Lugae lol do you really think Sonic is comparible to Pokémon?

Pokémon is a cultural phenomenon, it's a part of the life of millions. Many will never stop giving the games another try.

Your argument is very simplistic and doesn't hold water, every Pokémon game offers a completely different experience on the Switch. A person that hated SWSH can very well enjoy BDSP.

I can say with a very high certainty that from the 20+ million SWSH buyers, there are at the very least 2-3 million that did not like the game, and just so you know, based on everything anyone can see online, again, look at Metacritic.

Re: US Pokémon Physical Sales Just Reached Their Highest Annual Total Since The Year 2000

ArceusSupremacy

@liljmoore no it's not, it's called consumerism.

I can critisize a product's flaws before it's released in the hope it gets fixed, it rarely amounts to anything with GF, but I will never stop to try. I can buy the product and still critisize the flaws, in the hope it gets fixed in the next product, worked for LA. And I can critisize the flaws forever if I so desire, in the hope the company understands I never want a product like that again.

I will forever call BDSP one of the most stupid products I have ever seen, because the game was released as an imo stupid project, and it cannot be changed.

And I will critisize people defending a product that in my view is a bad product from a company trying to fool us fans. That person's opinion is in my view, damaging to the product I like. Questioning the opinion of a person is not offending the person.

Whether or not this is a waste of time on my part, is none of other's business.

Re: US Pokémon Physical Sales Just Reached Their Highest Annual Total Since The Year 2000

ArceusSupremacy

@iLikeUrAttitude of course there is a problem with being faithful, if doing so makes your game bad.

The story of DP was bad, the progression was bad, the dex was bad, the graphics were very limited because of the hardware. Heck, they use the same stupid tiled corners, how can you defend that?

The whole Spear-pillar sequence in the remakes perfectly show why this approach is just stupid, look at Cyrus, is this supposed to look intimidating?? It looks ridiculous!

Re: US Pokémon Physical Sales Just Reached Their Highest Annual Total Since The Year 2000

ArceusSupremacy

@blindsquarel yeah but I'm still very happy with Arceus. You have to understand that we got the same ***** for 25 years, graphics are not the most important thing with this game. Never been this hyped for anything in my life, not for Infinity War, not for Endgame, not for No Way Home, not for PS4 Spider-Man.

I literally couldn't sleep this past weeks because I can't stop watching the 13 minutes gameplay, I'm at another level of Pokémon freak.
