Couldn't care less about this game. What Bandai does to Digimon is an absolute shame, they should reboot Digimon World again and make it a big open world RPG like Scarlet and Violet, instead of a tedious pseudo-detective (?) game like Cybersleuth, or a niche strategy game like Survive.
@ModdedInkling it is a fact that there are allegations from the time where Reggie was still in the company.
If Reggie says "this is not my Nintendo" he's aknowledging that the allegations are true, but he's trying to blame Bowser, pretending these allegations all come from after his time, that's just not true. All that's very wrong, Reggie is probably more responsible for this since it's the system he established and Bowser has to deal with it now.
@Pillowpants would like to read/ listen to it, but heard he doesn't talk a lot about the failures of the Wii U for example, I'm interested in knowing everything, not just the stuff that went right, you can learn a lot by analyzing bad stuff.
I learned a lot as a game designer by playing SM and SWSH lol
It's also very important to not put Reggie on a pedestal. He's responsible for this, and now he's trying to make it look like everything is Bowser's fault, he just published his book and he's trying hard to present himself as some sort of hero, this is a very coward move by Reggie, it's horrible, it's still time for him to apologize for what he said ("This is not my Nintendo") and admit he made mistakes.
Being a leader is hard, sometimes you don't know what's going on, you have to be honest and always admit that bad stuff could happen under your leadership.
This is horrible. America really needs to review their worker right laws and fight against their famous "hire and fire" culture.
American companies have so much money, they have zero need to push this hard for win maximization, you have to strike a balance, your workers need to be healthy, otherwise it doesn't work.
@nhSnork RF is not a JRPG, it's a Life-Simulation game with Action-RPG elements, it cannot be considered a full-fleshed RPG, since many of these elements are more side features like Monster collecting.
This is not pejorative, I like that the franchise is a mix of a lot of different things.
One comment. And people still think competitive Pokémon is big.
GF should just ignore competitive in dev, it's irrelevant. They should make an extra, smaller budget game just for competitive people, like a free-to-play Stadium.
Draw distance as bad as Arceus should not ever happen in 22, and I guarantee to you it wouldn't on a more powerful hardware in a game as simple as PLA, that's obvious.
@YoshiF2 yes they do, but even a highly incompetent studio would be able to have decent draw distance and decent graphics on something as powerful as for example the PS4. Get what I mean?
A limited hardware like the Switch makes it hard for incompetent devs.
One of the silliest discussions I've seen in recent memory. Of course it's not, it doesn't look much better than the first game, look at the ground texture, I can count the pixels.
@Dragwhite oooh you optimistic child, the discussion will only end when Splatoon 4 is released on a new engine in 2027, for the first time justifying it's existence as a sequel in the series 😁
@Ulysses and other games like MK and SB at least upgrade the engine with most releases, Splatoon 3 is now the third installment on the same engine with features that could've all been DLC, no one can deny that.
@Ulysses yes, maybe we should question more games for doing that?
I read people saying MK8 and SBU are perfect and Nintendo can't improve on them, they're not perfect. I still think Mk could have chars from all Nintendo franchises, and open-world story mode like Forza Horizons (no this is not asking too much from a game that sells 40 million copies and diddy Kong Racing did similar things). World of Light is literally the worst story mode I've ever seen in any game, it's pure torture.
People just need to stop sucking everything up Nintendo does for our own sakes as customers, there's nothing wrong in enjoying a game like I enjoy MK8 and SBU and still see that they could be more since Nintendo has so much money.
@CammyUnofficial I never made the argument of the cost, neither have I said that Splatoon is EXACTLY as muchas a bad deal as FIFA, but people want to turn my argument into a scientific discussion apparently. I just said both games cost full price every time despite don't changing enough that justifies a new game, and if you know both games, you can't deny that. People saying FIFA only updates roasters don''t play FIFa (or they only play the switch version I guess?).
And at least with FIFA, you have to option to just wait until it drops on Game Pass, which is what I do, so I don't spend multiple hundred dollars on FIFA.
So, they are definitely comparable to some extent, and imo, are both used as cash-cows by their publishers.
@chapu2006 as I wrote above, new story modes and new mechanics, features. So basically the same stuff Splatoon 3 is doing, the only difference is FIFA makes it every year, Splatoon every five.
@Bret I'm not talking about the story itself, but the animations, the assets. You need, who would've guessed, money and effort to do that, like Splatoons story mode.
Why can't you just admit that you didn't knew FIFA still has a story mode instead of farfetching arguments that have nothing to do with what I said?
@Bret you don't know how to respond because you actually don't have any arguments. From a production perspective it's like an animated movie, what's hard to understand about that? Other games stories, including Splatoon are no different from a production perspective.
@Bret they did not drop the story, it's in VOLTA street football mode now. It's a new story with new characters, it's basically a movie with a budget that's probably higher than some minor Nintendo games for that mode alone.
@CammyUnofficial I understood what you meant, but I don't think you would've bought all Contras knowing they're basically the same thing if it was your own money.
@BTB20 the point is that they don't change much, like FIFA. With the difference that with Splatoon you wait 5 years for improvements that could've been DLC.
@Bret no, the amount of new content is comparable to what FIFA adds in just one year. Splatoon 3 has new story mode, some features and weapons right? FIFA has a new story mode every year, multiple features every year.
So it IS comparable. You could even argue Splatoon is worse in it's incremental evolution.
@CammyUnofficial did you pay for all Contra games? Well, I guess it's your money (or your parent's back in the day?)
I just think it's funny how Nintendo fans have double standards some times. Splatoon 1-3 it's literally the same game on the same engine with some added content that could easily be 20 dollar DLCs, correct me if I'm wrong not a hardcore Splatoon player, but I haven't noticed anything in 2 that would've made it incompatible with 1 and 3 at least doesn't look like it needed to be a new game either.
@Bret still 80% the same. The amount of new stuff Splatoon adds in five years is about the same as FIFA every year, new story mode, some new gameplay features, it's very comparable.
It's amazing to see how Capcom evolved from the darkest ages in the early from 2007-2012 or so to being imo one of the best studios in the world now, even with one of the best graphical engines.
The people responsible for this turn over need to be studied by everyone interested in entertainment business management.
@Tulio517 disagree, a full open world MMO would be amazing, Nintendo is missing on a pretty big opportunity actually, I'm pretty sure if they did a Zelda Universe MMO it would make them more money than any other Zelda game for sure.
@Henmii you don't understand, this conflict is the by far more relevant and dangerous since WWII.
It's not Russia against Ukraine, it's dictatorship against democracy, that's why what happens there affects the whole world, we need to show that our system works.
I'm so happy Arceus was able to bring in new people, I'm sorry for the traditionalists, but now Pokemon is finally going in he direction I always wanted, I cannot wait to see more of SV!

Re: Video: Bandai Namco Shares New Gameplay Footage Of Digimon Survive
@Brydontk I know next Order haven't played t, but it a least looked better than Cybersleuth in the sense that it actually looks like a Digimon game.
Next Order didn't have great reviews, but I would still love a Switch port, I highly doubtb though.

@Rambler that's what I said. It still under his management, he's saying it was not, he's lying.
Re: NoA President Responds To Alleged Working Conditions At Nintendo, Finds Reports "Troubling"
Reggie Fils-Aimé: you either die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain.
This sentence is just so true so many times in our world.
There is still time for redemption, Reggie needs to apologize before things get worse.

Re: Rune Factory 5 Passes 500,000 Global Sales On Switch
@Andy_Witmyer considering RF5 one of the besst games on Switch is disrespecting other games who put really outstanding work in.
RF is fun, but it's also a cheap cash grab, it's not a game made with a lot of effort.
Re: Rune Factory 5 Passes 500,000 Global Sales On Switch

Re: Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series Is A Brand New Anime That Looks Terrifying
@Abeedo I have not seen them. Even the worst 12 episode anime I've seen is still loads better than Pokémon.
Re: Rune Factory 5 Passes 500,000 Global Sales On Switch
I liked RF4 and I want to get 5, but this should not cost 60 dollars, 40 max.
Re: Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series Is A Brand New Anime That Looks Terrifying
@Abeedo there is no other anime where 80% of the episodes are mindless fillers.
Re: Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series Is A Brand New Anime That Looks Terrifying
Pokémon is the worst anime series ever made.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel #95 - Earthbound / Mother 2
"Gorgeous design". It's just a red box with an ugly logo that doesn't fit the game...
One of the rare cases where western marketing did a way better job.

@redd214 I want a new one very much for the power though. So we stop having N64 draw distance on games like Arceus.
