Re: Ubisoft Not Disappointed With Wii U Install Base

Amigaengine

Actually looking back through my catalog of NGC and Wii games there is one 3rd party that has always showed Nintendo players much love and that is Ubi Soft.
I love Rayman but I am far more excited for Watchdogs, Rainbow Six patriots and Blacklist. Keep making them Ubi and I will keep buying them.

Re: Hardware Classics: NEC PC Engine

Amigaengine

Been a PC engine gamer since 1989 and was nothing I did not love about the machine's NEC offered.
Wish Nintendo had done a better job with the VC releases. The quantity of titles and the emulation quality was spotty at best. Maybe they will redo some of those for the WiiU.

Re: Crytek: Crysis 3 Was "Very Close To Launching" On Wii U

Amigaengine

@JSuede
Well said. I agree that while Crysis is not a great game it would have sold well on WiiU simply by default. But if EA was to release it now there would be a chance of some nice sales but most are waiting till the middle of march when the wave of nice titles are coming.

Re: Crytek: Crysis 3 Was "Very Close To Launching" On Wii U

Amigaengine

No need on feeding the troll guys.

Have Crysis 3 for my Xbox3fixme and while I enjoy the MP and would like to see it release for WiiU its not a big deal regardless.
EA could do alot to help WiiU with supporting the console a little better but to be honest would rather see Dead Space Trilogy, Crysis Trilogy along with the first 2 Mass Effect games on the Eshop.

Re: Talking Point: Sony's PlayStation 4 Poses a Fresh Challenge for Wii U in the 2013 Holidays

Amigaengine

The PS4 is a slick sounding machine but there is a few things that bother me.

Price ? 8Gb of GDDR5 ram will not be cheap.
Controller? Telling me I cant use my 60.00 DS3 to play another round of Killzone, God of War ? WTH
Social features ? Just gets in the way of me enjoying my games.

What Nintendo should do.
Stay the course that you have shown us for 2013. The game line-up is very impressive guys
Let Sega create another F-Zero
Let Platinum give us their take on the Star Fox series
Allow Retro to spread their wing's and deliver a great new IP... after Metroid Prime 4
Give us a HD version of Eternal Darkness
Do these simple things and it will not matter what tech demo Sony & MS show.

Re: Ubisoft: Nintendo Will Make "Necessary Changes" To Wii U

Amigaengine

Really dont understand all the Ubisoft backlash ? They are a third party developer and one of the very few to admit to having more WiiU titles coming and suddenly everybody is saying they wont buy them ?

Not that nintendo console owners have showed their support for 3rd party games in the past !

Re: Amazon Lists The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker HD For $59.99

Amigaengine

Hardly just a reskin,

The game will give players the option to play entirely on the GamePad, and will feature both upgraded graphics and Miiverse integration. Nintendo also plans to tune up the original experience, though precisely what changes that might entail is a mystery at this point. On the visual side of things, the game definitely retains its core visual style, but with the addition of some noticeable visual flourishes (such as enhanced lighting to lend the cel-shading a more vibrant, dynamic look).

Well worth it imo

3. This chip is fabricated in a 40 nm advanced CMOS process at TSMC and is not low tech
4. For reference sake, the Apple A6 is fabricated in a 32 nm CMOS process and is also designed from scratch. It’s manufacturing costs, in volumes of 100k or more, about $26 - $30 a pop. Over 16 months degrade to about $15 each
a. Wii U only represents like 30M units per annum vs iPhone which is more like 100M units per annum. Put things in perspective.
5. This Wii U GPU costs more than that by about $20-$40 bucks each making it a very expensive piece of kit. Combine that with the IBM CPU and the Flash chip all on the same package and this whole thing is closer to $100 a piece when you add it all up
6. The Wii U main processor package is a very impressive piece of hardware when its said and done.

Trust me on this. It may not have water cooling and heat sinks the size of a brownie, but its one slick piece of silicon. eDRAM is not cheap to make. That is why not everybody does it. Cause its so dam expensive""

DF jumped the gun on getting this article and their analysis up there so fast when people are still hard at work with analyzing the chip as we speak. That article actually made me lose a huge chunk of respect for DF. They stated their opinions like they were fact and didn't even bother to check their sources.

Officially done with this graphics argument. It is old and means nothing except for giving lazy developers, publishers excuses.

Re: GPU Images Reveal Wii U Graphical Power

Amigaengine

All this technical stuff hurts my head lol. All i care about are good games and if i want the best graphics will simply build a PC. That is the way it has been since mid 80's and has not changed since.

The HD generation has just about ruined game consoles and more importantly has chased off the best minds in gaming. We dont see original ideas from developers because they simply cannot afford the next Shenmue which imo is just sad. Which is why you get so many grey or brown games with a special map pack.

Sorry but the 6th gen (dreamcast,GCN, PS2,Xbox) was the best generation in gaming and had nothing to do with graphics

Re: Iwata Implies That He Could Step Down Over Sluggish Sales Performance

Amigaengine

I have come to the conclusion that with what info we have now Nintendo needs to pull something big at this E3 ! There is barely a whisper of any 3rd party support for future titles compared to PS/360 and there simply is not enough 1st party titles to to stop the droughts of software.

Nintendo needs a huge shot in the arm from 3rd parties and it appears that is not coming with most major releases this spring and summer not being on Wii U which is the most troubling news of them all.

If I was Nintendo and knowing the info they have shared I would try to reach a deal with Valve and add Big Picture mode for the Wii U. In return offer nintendo games on steam. Could only be a win win situation for both companies.
