@electrolite77
Well, let's hash it out then....Why do you feel Nintendo is nickel and diming you?

Me, I don't see microtransactions, every game having on disc DLC that we pay to unlock (cough cough mass effect) or paying for online services, or having to be "gold" to do anything with your console...

So let's hear you point of view, it sounds like you have been a gamer as long as I have (since the late 70's when I was old enough to have an Atari joystick in my hand)

Re: Latest Assassin's Creed Announcement Continues Doubts Over Wii U Inclusion

@HappyMaskedGuy
I agree with you 100% on two things you said, Nintendo is far more respectable as a company than sony, and light years ahead of Microsoft.
Also I miss the days of local multiplayer, their was magic to be had staying up all night with three buddies talking smack and playing goldeneye 007 and Mario kart (Nintendo 64 days I mean)

And I also feel I'd rather have a select few quality games a year versus the milking that goes on with (for example) the music / dance games, maddens, assassins creed or call of duty - although there are SOME games in those series I enjoy. COD Ghosts was awesome, I got the wiiu version and never looked back

Re: Latest Assassin's Creed Announcement Continues Doubts Over Wii U Inclusion

@HappyMaskedGuy

I do not blame fans for not buying poor 3rd party titles. And you are correct, what Nintendo lacks in quantity they make up for a million times over in quality. I'd rather play Mario 3d, or donkey kong any day rather than assassins creed # 74 or call of duty #256, or madden 37th year in a row.

Admittedly, I enjoy games other than Nintendo games, I play some call of duty games, a big fan of uncharted, gears of war, MLB the show, etc As much as I love Nintendo games, I love others too. But what I am pissed about is lame excuses from 3rd party developers and so called "fan experts" who think everything is nintendos fault.

Re: Latest Assassin's Creed Announcement Continues Doubts Over Wii U Inclusion

AJSjedi

Well allow me to be one of the first to say screw you Ubisoft. I'm DONE supporting your games. Why don't you get a set of BALLS and just come out and say what everyone already knows...watch dogs is cancelled for Wiiu.

And while I'm on the topic, please let's hear from some of these "armchair quarterbacks" on this site who think they are such experts as to why everything wrong with the wiiu is Nintendo's fault..

Last generation, developers cried and moaned that wii was too weak, so they made a wiiu which is leaps and bounds better than wii, and better than ps3/xbox 360 as it should be. It's not as powerful as PS4 or Xbox One obviously, but here is the thing..IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE.
If nintnedo came out with a system as powerful as them tomorrow, do you think anything would be different? Do you honestly think so? Developers would simply find another lame excuse as to why they don't support it. Gamers would still find fault with it and go back to their "mature" titles, and it would be the same as it is today.

I'm not an idiot that thinks Nintendo is innocent, but overwhelmingly it gets flak for things that are not it's fault. It's not nintendos job to market 3rd party games. And it's not Nintendo wiiu owners fault that we are not paying full price for watered down ports, rehashes of old games, half-@#$ incomplete games...that is the PUBLISHERS fault.

Why buy mass effect 3 for full price when the same price on other systems gets a trilogy? why pay full price for games like assassins creed 4, batman arkham origins, injustice gods among us, or splinter cell when they don't even include all features from other systems? I do not EVER buy DLC or play online multiplayer but even I see that ripping people off does not endear them to you.

One of the greatest strengths of Nintendo is that they DONT nickel and dime you with everything like "the other two" consoles out there. But when developers want to milk fans for every penny and Nintendo does not want that, it's Nintendo's fault?

I have zero complaints about being a wiiu owner, and I have no plans to upgrade my ps3 or (heaven forbid) 360 to their next gen as nothing appeals to me, I have a huge backlog on wii, wiiu, and ps3, and not the least bit impressed by ps4 or xbox one and their requirements. But to continue to blame Nintendo for not "making a more pleasant atmosphere" for 3rd party games is just plain stupid. What are they supposed to do?

Let 3rd parties go, I am sick and tired of half !@#$ ports anyway. If you are going to make an effort, I'll try it and if I like it I'll buy it. And stop the lame excuses about "our games don't sell on wiiu"

Re: Feature: Where Is Your Wii Balance Board?

AJSjedi

Have nintendo said anything about being able to use two balance boards at the same time? If so then my wife and I can play together instead of taking turns and we will wait for the deluxe set that comes out next year. If not we may just spring for two of the sensors

Where do I begin? First off let me say clearly this is not mean to offend. However, you sound like a marketing persona, and a bad one at that. I have to disagree with all your principles. You come off sounding like someone with a grudge against disney.

It has been established the roster is the way it is because it's targeted toward the younger generation. They are more familiar with pixar films / characters than classic disney ones.

Regarding skylanders figures, what exactly are they. Everyone I know who looks at one asks themselves that. Where as when you look at disney you instantly know exactly who or what it is. And saying they are poor quality? They are not meant to be "toys" you play with. You mentioned kids not wanting to buy things they already have...umm call of duty anyone? When they come out with new toys from a line already released they don't seem to have any trouble selling them.
One last thing also regarding skylanders, only little children seem the least bit interested, where as with infinity I've seen / read / heard more adults talking about this than kids. That is why you see so many items at the store, everyone is enjoying this game.

Again nothing personal but your points come off as bitter and biased. I copied this to your other article as well not to upset or anger you or bait you into an argument, but for the sake of discussion

Re: Disney Infinity Producer Outlines The Features Available To Wii U Players

@rjejr
That's an opinion I've read a lot. People asking why no classic Disney and mostly Pixar. The only theory I have is that since it's geared towards kids they figured start with more recent stuff. But i'm sure if this gets as big as I think it's going to get, I have no doubt eventually we will see more of the classics. How cool would it be to play as the love bug in a cars world? (NOT the Lindsey lohan love bug!) or to play as the cat from outer space in something...OOPS i'm showing my age...gotta run!

Re: Disney Infinity Producer Outlines The Features Available To Wii U Players

AJSjedi

@Mqblank
I know they are coming out with a few more figures as well, of course their is Sorcerer Mickey and jack skellington (nightmare before Christmas), but I've seen where they also plan on releasing rapunzell, Phineas and ferb or something (not interested in those) and two characters from "frozen"...whatever that is, never heard of it.

If you go into the hall of heroes in the game, you can see who is planned, though I suspect it would not be impossible to add on to those with some update. Keeping my fingers crossed for light cycles and discs!

Re: Disney Infinity Producer Outlines The Features Available To Wii U Players

AJSjedi

My wife and I picked this up last week with a bunch of extra figures and playsets (thank goodness as they were still on sale at toys r us at the time) and we can both honestly say it's been worth every penny. Make no mistake, the games is geared towards children, but if you like Disney or the Pixar movies plenty of fun can be had. Yeah, it get's pricey, no doubt. But how is it different from tons of other games and a ton of DLC. At least with infinity you get something physical to hold in your hand, the figures are cool little collectables in their own right.

As far as the games themselves we both like all of them, but my favorite so far is Lone ranger and my wife likes monsters university.

We never had an ounce of interest in skylanders, but as I am pushing 40 and she is 41 and we enjoy being big kids this is perfect for us. You get at least 6 hours per playset, and then you think about toybox mode and the money you dropped doesn't seem bad at all for the content you are getting.

I would say gameplay is very much platform, with exploration and "combat" thrown in, but nothing over the top. Great family game, even though we don't have kids (just us fighting over it)

My only regret is I hear the wreck it ralph figures won't have their own playset which SUCKS, I wanted to play in that world. Toy story will have it's own playset, and I'm holding out hope for a tron figure or playset but I'm thinking that will be in Disney infinity 2.

Re: Nintendo Comments On EarthBound's Inflated Pricing

AJSjedi

My goodness nintendo fans certainly earn their reputation sometimes.
People have been crying FOR YEARS that they waned a release, FINALLY nintendo does it...and people complain?

Here is an idea, go to a local store and purchase a new copy, OH THAT'S RIGHT YOU CAN'T.

Ok, go online and pay IN EXCESS of $100 for a snes copy, hope your snes still works, and PRAY the battery inside the cartridge to save your game isn't dead....

OR pay ten bucks and stop complaining about something so petty.

Re: Feature: The History Of The Famicom

AJSjedi

They need to release some famicom classics on the US virtual console. I want 3d hot rally, the original doki doki panic, goonies, kong 2, nuts n milk, and the two super famicom classics Mario & wario and that Mario kart excitebike. Nintendo, take my money please!
And if they ever do GameCube games, I'd like to play doshin the giant!

Re: Investment Expert Feels Nintendo Earnings Miss Will Trigger Multi-Platform Approach

AJSjedi

@Damo
I doubt anyone is saying sugar coat anything, I think what a lot of posters (including myself) are saying is WE GET IT, times are tough for wiiu. Nobody is denys this fact. All we are saying is it's not some big secret, ANY other game site spends day in day out bashing nintendo. The reason many people come to nintendo life is to ESCAPE that. No one is burying their head in the sand or pretending wiiu life is good. But their comes a point where the vast majority don't care what "industry experts" say about nintendo. They care only about games, fellow gamers, etc. NOBODY wants to hear patcher predictions. Stop insulting readers or become the new ign. Nothing personal, your articles are usually great, but don't be so close minded toward those who read them.

Re: Ubisoft CEO Admits ZombiU Sales Were Disappointing, No Plans For Sequel

AJSjedi

Not to sound like a donkey, but what EXACTLY is nintendo doing "wrong"?
I don't want games missing stuff of the disc that we are "generously" offered to buy as dlc. When I buy a game, I want the WHOLE game.
I don't want any type of drm, I want to be able to do whatever the hell I want with games purchased with my heard earned money.
I'm not the least bit sad if madden or call of duty #674 is not released on wiiu, I've played them before...like everyone else...the EXACT same game OVER AND OVER.
And what is "wrong" with wiiu? Naysayers claim "it's last generation", so tell me, IF nintendo made something better than ps4 or xbone how many gamers would switch? You think ignorant fanboys are going to up and abandon microsoft or that sony gamers are going to forgo getting a ps4?
Their is a place called reality, more gamers should try it.

Re: Nintendo Defends Influx of New Mario Titles

COUGH...call of duty...COUGH...Madden...COUGH....assassins creed....COUGH...must be something wrong with my throat?

I would take a new mario EVERY YEAR over any one of those stale cut and paste "blockbusters"

Re: Review: Wrecking Crew (Wii U eShop / NES)

This has always been a MASSIVELY underrated game. I always loved the strategy and puzzle elements mixed together. Gamers can be a finicky bunch, oh you have to think instead of just shooting the bad guys?

Re: Nintendo "Feels Good" About How It Stacks Up Against Sony And Microsoft

AJSjedi

Not sure what everyone is griping about. The games I saw looked pretty awesome. mario kart 8, smash brothers, mario world 3d, and donkey kong country all looked amazing.

I buy nintendo consoles for NINTENDO games, Oh my what a concept!
I could care less if 3rd parties want to jump ship, because I have not met anyone in my 37 years that has said to me..."gee did you see that new game by XYZ company, i'm gonna go buy a nintendo so I can get it"

Sure it would be nice to have more 3rd party support, but I doubt the "wiiu is doomed" crowd is right. Wiiu will be fine. And besides, their is a reason nintendo has been around since 1889. If they truly planned on competing with ps4 or xbox DONE, they would have made a bit stronger system. Nintendo isn't as stupid as people claim they are, they know exactly what they are doing. They are giving (most) fans what they want. But who cares? Nintendo makes systems and games that are fun. Again, I don't buy nintendo games for ultra realistic graphics. I buy them for the nintendo games experience you can't get anywhere else.

I have absolutely zero regrest getting my wiiu in december (couldn't find one launch day) and judging by the nintendo games coming out along with rayman legends, I will be very occupied and have an empty wallet and a smile on my face.

Re: NBA 2K14 Won't Be Slam Dunking On Wii U

AJSjedi

@P-Gamer-C if you don't like the "inferior" wiiu luckily soon you will be able to purchase a "superior" system. And while you will have "superior games you want to play" be sure to enjoy publishers dictating how you play, when you play, how much you pay, what you can do with it ( I have an idea about that). Ill stick to my inferior games that I can buy, sell, loan, trade, borrow, and do whatever I want with at MY disgression.

Re: NBA 2K14 Won't Be Slam Dunking On Wii U

AJSjedi

@P-Gamer-C since you constantly insist on being such an anti Nintendo dueche, may I suggest you move over to IGN they specialize in that.

The ONLY reason third party games are not coming to wii u is nintendo refused (so far) to go along within the drm requirement that both Xbox DONE AND PS4 will have. Anyone who thinks only xbrick will have that is a fool. That is why I will continue to support nintendo and never again buy a Microsoft product or a stony game console.

I'm sure you get a rise,out of being a troll but I don't.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Mixed Week With Wii U Third-Party Support

AJSjedi

I don't want to sound negative but...
The partnership thing with sega is promising, but sonic is not what he used to be. Let us not forget the cancellation of aliens colonial marines on wii u, and that sega has not been at the top of their game as they were back in the heyday of the snes/genesis wars. (Iron man, hulk, and thor games come to mind)
However the bright side is their may be some crossover not related to racing. How cool would it be to have a sonic & mario adventure game with all the respective characters?

As far as wiiu being "done" that is complete BS. People have been saying nintendo was dead for years and they are still here as strong as ever. I've owned a wiiu since I found one in december and while I wish their was more games that excited me at the moment I could care less about the vast majority of third party games not showing up on wiiu, ESPECIALLY from EA. oh no! Not the same exact sports games we have been playing for 20 years? How will we survive!

The truth is nintendo was extremely smart making wiiu what it was, do you think if nintendo made something just like ps4 or nextbox that people would jump ship?
I highly doubt it. Nintendo has been around since 1889 for a reason. Why go out of your way to appeal to gamers who are so blinded by fanboyism?

I think wiiu wll be fine, and I will support companies like ubisoft by purchasing watch dogs and rayman for wiiu. I blame microsoft and their stupid timed release policy for the rayman debacle, not saying ubi is innocent but it's less on them. I didn't hear sony crying that rayman would have come out later on ps3.

Anyway, that's my two cents..
