Nintendo Switch 2: All Confirmed Games & Release Dates

Never bought a Switch because i gambled on the successor being backwards compatible, thanksfully it is, so now i'm gonna be getting 2 consoles for the price of 1

Need to get the software hype train running! As those TBC and Confirmed titles looking shockingly bad!

@Lord Yes but it's been successful for along time since I was a kid these game's may not be for you. You have to understand that not everyone is gonna like the same games.

The Kickstarter for My Time at Evershine has a release of Spring 2026 for PC, with consoles shortly, and no official Switch 2 confirmation

Why is Z-A S2 edition on there twice?

Id like see mass effect ported over. Ive got cyberpunk, yakuza 0 and tears of the kingdom to get me going a good few months. Hope theres a couple of surprise drops though. Ive played ff7 remake twice and star wars outlaws looks a bit iffy when theres no light sabers

TBH 3rd party support if you already have a PC or Xbox or PS5 is somewhat mediocre. Except for very specific games, all the others are republished software that everyone with another system already played. So, I expect more.

What's the list without upgraded games from last gen?

Forget about Odyssey 2 and bring us Galexy 3.

Despite everything else one of my most hyped games is actually Witchbrook! It's almost everything I enjoy in one game: magical academia theme, gorgeous pixel art, cozy locales, and online multiplayer!

@GenzaiJH I agree! The Mario Galaxy movie is the perfect moment to surprise everyone with Mario Galaxy 3. Not sure if a Mario 3D game has ever attempted the "3" sequel naming scheme, so perhaps they would give it a subtitle instead.

Absolutely nothing of interest to me personally. I understand FFVII Intergrade has to be on a game key card, but I already have it for my PS5 ( although not much else tbh ). My Switch 2 is slowly collecting dust at this point outside of the occasional dip into the lastest Age of Imprisonment content. I probably bought everything in sight during the original Switch's first year, but I have been extremely selective in my Switch 2 purchases and at times weeks have gone by without even turning it on.

Among the rumoured games, I'm missing a lot, such as Monster Hunter Wilds, Prince of Persia remake, FFXIV, RDR2, Okami 2 and Baldur's Gate 3.

This is already a fantastic third party lineup, but I can't wait for the February Direct to know about more first party games. Fire Emblem and Splatoon are not enough.

terrible line-up, right now I'm only interested in Fire Emblem, Nintendo better reveal much more for this year because I have zero interest in Pokemon or 2D Yoshi

Sounds like we need a Nintendo Direct soon! Mario Tennis is the only Nintendo published game that’s got a solid release date that Im interested in. Resident Evil looks good, so Ill probably pick that up, and maybe Dragon Quest VII reimagined, but I’ve already played through FFVII inter grade twice, so I dont think I need another play through.

GTA 6 should be in thr rumour mill too. It be 2027 if it does come through.

Still holding out some hope for Oblivion Remaster, RDR2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Outer Worlds Spacers Choice and OW2, Avowed, Pillars of Eternity 2, and maybe some FO3/NV as well.

Only things on my radar at the moment are Death Match Love Comedy, Mario Tennis, Danganronpa 2x2, and Fortune's Weave. Might pick up FF7 or RE9, kind of remains to be seen, but not dying for them.

Nintendo themselves better step it up this year. If you’re not into Pokemon or Fire Emblem and don’t play much third party, it looks pretty bare.

Good thing I’m interested in Mario Tennis and Yoshi along with Splatoon Raiders when it comes to new games. Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven are Switch 1 games, but I’d actually play them on Switch 2 whether they get editions or not. No longer is there that one problem from the end of the 3DS era when there were games releasing on that I wished were on Switch.

Looks like another backlog year for me.

2026 is going to be lit! Fire Emblem, Yoshi, Mario Tennis, Resident Evil Requiem + Village and 8. Monster Hunter Stories 3, Final Fantasy VII remake, Tomodachi Life, Pokopia... the list just goes on with games I'd love to play!

Feels like a list of games you would expect at the end of the console's life, not the start of it.

Unless the first Direct of the year reveals something good, only Fortune's Weave and Splatoon Raiders are on my radar, and Mysterious Book is a definite second-hand purchase.

Y'all really should list which ones are not Game Key cards (I know not all have been confirmed as physical or Game-key card). but it'd be super helpful.

@The_Nintendo_Expat - We just wrapped up a holiday season where we had Metroid Prime 4, Pokémon, Donkey Kong Bananza, Galaxy 1+2 and a few third party games to play. Even in 2017, going into 2018 I don’t recall there being too many awaited titles going into year two after the holiday season. I would anticipate a pretty big list of announcements in the next Direct.

That's OK I'm Keeping My Switch.

I find it really interesting how drastically different each person's thoughts are about the same list of games.

My take is that I'm not bursting with excitement at the lineup, but I'm very much willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since 1, the console is still only half a year old and it takes time to build a stong library, and 2, I believe Nintendo knows what they're doing and are playing the long game here. The more they reveal now they less they can reveal later, and taking their time allows the console to gain traction steadily. 2025 was good and I'm confident this year will be too.

Nintendo likely has a staggering amount of unannounced Switch 2 titles in development 😍🤤.

Now that it’s 2026 I’m pretty much hanging out for Indiana jones. I’ll take doom the dark ages if it drops, and the other end of the spectrum I’ll get the next bluey game too 🤣

First time where there isn’t anything huge jumping out at me. Which is probably for the best as I have played SO MANY GAMES this year.

As someone who only bought Switch 2 for the first party and exclusive third-party games (I got PC and PS5 for the rest), this is not looking promising...
Let's hope Nintendo have a bunch of NEW titles to announce soon, and not just a wave of "Switch 2 Editions".

I chose a good year to stick to my backlog and save money by not buying new games. A lot of these games either I'm not interested in, or if I am, but I can wait to get them. That said, we're probably getting a Direct either this month or early next month before Mario Tennis Frenzy releases, so Nintendo probably has plenty up their sleeves we don't know about.

@The_Nintendo_Expat to start with I felt it was a bit slow but I have to say now I’m further in I don’t mind it at all.

Having said that I’ve always enjoyed base building type games so maybe it’s just up my street. The amount farmed however could be higher as progress does feel a little slow at times.

After the demo I'm sure, Final Fantasy Remake will be awesome and I can't wait!!!

Rhythm Heaven is for Switch 1, but is a day one game.

Yoshi looks really disappointing, very simple and basic. Hopefully I'll be wrong about that.

I'm curious if we'll see a big one soon. THE Mario game is probably not coming anytime soon. Zelda 3D probably isn't coming soon.. We'll probably get a new Pokémon. And I'm gambling on a new Paper Mario!

I medically need Resident Evil Requiem. February can't get here fast enough. I'm getting the Generation Pack and I'm buying it for the PS5. Also very excited Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave.

Beginning of the year looks pretty terrible

It's just CRAZY to me that we have always been complaining about the lack of third party support in Nintendo systems, and now that we FINALLY have the games coming, people forget about them and complain about the lack of first party support (after a fantastic line up in the last months)...

Come on, guys! We are barely starting the year, and we recently have Pokemon Z/A, HW: AoI, Kirby AR and Metroid. Give Nintendo a chance, good games are not done within a few months!

@LUIGITORNADO So terrible I'm getting 12 games (not all day one, of course) within the first 3 months: Dispatch, FFVII remake, DQVII reimagined, Ys X Proud Nordics, Mario Tennis Fever, Reanimal, RE Generation Pack, Tales of Berseria remaster, MH Stories 3 and Pragmata.

Remake Classic Super Mario Land ( GB )

2026 is currently looking pretty bleak for anyone who isn't into JRPGs or remakes.

This is a poor line up. Rereleases, remasters, now reimaginings, mostly Switch 1 games, anything slightly demanding will run like garbage, no Mario in sight, way too safe, figuring out what format to get the game in is ultra confusing, prices all over the place, nothing new and exciting, no end in sight, Nintendo better have saved some of that Switch 1 money....ps, I will buy The Adventuees of Elliott. Slick game.
