As well as playing nearly all games for the original console, the next Nintendo system will have its own tailor-made Switch 2 games you can't can't play anywhere else, alongside all the multiplatform releases and ports.
So, in order to both guide you and to stoke the internal hype fires even further (as if that were possible), we've put together this handy quick list of all Switch 2-exclusive games that have been announced thus far.
And beneath the list, you'll find some extra details for all the ones announced prior to launch, too. Let's go!

Looking for a little more info, some trailers and the like? We're happy to oblige.
Mario Kart World (June 5th)
It's got grinding on rails, wall-jumping (of sorts), a map that takes in the entire globe, and all-new open world antics as you madcap dash between wacky race locations.
We think it's fair to say that everything we've seen of Mario Kart World so far has got us mega-excited to get our hands on this one. The series needed something fairly remarkable to elevate it above the peerless Mario Kart 8, and if Nintendo pulls all of these new aspects together...well...imagine if we're just weeks away from the best Mario Kart yet. How to sleep?
Survival Kids (June 5th)
4 kids find a treasure map and rush off, entirely unprepared, for adventure!
In Survival Kids, four players...well...survive, on a tropical island. You'll need to work together, collect materials, craft, fish, cook, power up your skills for exploring.
This one could be absolute dynamite if there's enough focus on actual teamwork, and some of the clips do seem to suggest this may be the case, so we expect plenty of madcap silliness when this launches. We also fully expect to be able to put our own faces in there.
Nintendo Switch Welcome Tour
Not strictly a game, you say? Well, we think it looks like a ton of fun. As an interactive guide to everything about the Switch 2, the welcome tour takes an Astro Bot-styled approach to having fun whilst learning about your tech, albeit with much smaller controllable characters.
Minigames, hidden secrets, tech demos, and lots of sweet Nintendo lore? Give it here.
Donkey Kong Bananza (July 17th)
This reveal blew us away, if we're being honest. DK is looking better than ever in an adventure that's big on huge 3D environs, lots of camera-switching trickery and tunnelling right under the ground as a new way of both exploring and fighting.
Donkey Kong Bananza looks set to bring all of the barrel-traversing and tricksy platforming we expect from the series, now brought to life in a glorious three-dimensional world, the likes of which this franchise has never seen.
Drag x Drive (Summer 2025)
What happens when you splice Rocket League's frenetic arena action with the high-octane sport of wheelchair basketball? Well Drag x Drive, of course!
This game looks and sounds like it could be a stealth hit, we reckon, as it seems to capture the moment-to-moment excitement of a fast-paced multiplayer arcade game, whilst also utilising all of the new features of the Switch 2. Using the new Joy Con turned on their side to activate MOUSE MODE, you then use each controller as a wheel, sliding back and forth to gain momentum.
Hard to explain, but it looks super intuitive. Just watch the flipping trailer.
Kirby Air Riders (TBC 2025)
It's Kirby Kart! Sort of. Kirby Air Riders is a racer, alright, but this one sees you and pals "air ride" on hovercrafts of varying shapes and sizes around some incredibly lush-looking courses! We are hyped for this one.
Kirby Air Riders originates from the Nintendo GameCube classic racing-action game Kirby Air Ride, and it's also directed by Masahiro Sakurai.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (TBC 2025)
The epic battles of the Imprisoning Wars, in a story that leads into the events of Tears of the Kingdom! We love the Hyrule Warrior games, even if they are a little bit of an acquired taste, and this new one should deal with the biggest issue they've had thus far, performance issues on the OG Switch.
We're looking forward to smoothly slicing and dicing our foes as a whole roster of heroes from Hyrule when Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment drops.
The Duskbloods (TBC 2026)
FromSoftware dropping what looked like Bloodborne 2 for a second, and a Switch 2 exclusive no less? Did anyone else almost faint?
The Duskbloods is a PvPvE game from the creators of the Soulslike genre, and even though the idea of multiplayer does put us off a little - we are gonna put our trust in the team, we know they can create magic, come up with unique new mechanics, and utilise online aspects in very clever ways...so we are psyched.
And what a boon for the console, to have such a prestige and "grown-up" exclusive to add to its lineup almost straight away.

"Astro Bot-styled approach" – sounds good! The free/pack-in PS5 demo game was great (and a nice return to quality pack-in games), and the full blown Astro Bot (2024) is worth the price. I wish the Switch 2 demo game came with the system though. Nintendo Land was a great Wii U demo that would have been a perfect pack-in game.
