Topic: Monster Hunter 3

Thanks JayArr. I'll start working on forging a set of it, then. I also need two more Gobul hides so I can forge the Azi Dahaka.

Yesterday, I fought Alatreon 3 times in a row with a bunch of random hunters. Here was the big shocker, even for me: I took down Alatreon all 3 times without dying once. Even more surprising, I managed to deal the most damage on it each time, even making it fall down a couple of times per battle without too much help. Guess that new sword I have, Elder Monument, managed to make things much easier than normal.

Anyways, I don't know if I'll be online at all tonight, since I'll be playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 at the moment.

@BecomingTHE MAN Guess I need to do some Alatreon runs with you. I want to forge Chaos Wing and I need a bunch of Alatreon materials for it. I've only beaten Alatreon twice so far.

Hopefully you all beat SMG2 quickly.

Ok, now that school is almost over, I'll be trying to play this more. One question though: I'm at the 2 star quests offline, and my armor is a pish-posh of various equipment. What is the best set of armor for someone at my point in the game?

@ Irken - I recommend a R. Ludo set. It got me through all of the 4 Star Quest.

I played SMG2 for a few hours and went right back to playing Monster Hunter. This game flows through my veins.

@JayArr The irresistible charm of the Guild Sweetheart is overwhelming!

I've almost finished my set of R. Ludroth armor. Just need a few more scales and sponges! Also, @irken: I recommend forging a Spiral Lance. It's killer effective against the R. Ludroth and Barroth.

@pixelman Rudroth armor looks like an eskimo and seems to fit the tundra area. I love the armor and good luck getting those scales and sponges! And yes spiral lance works very well against Barroth.

I finished it! Woot! And yeah, I figured it was best suited for the Tundra. I can forge a long sword now, so I need to get one more Gobul Spike and some Baggi hides. Now, do I want to forge the awesome Azi Dahaka or the Long Sword first? Hmmmmmmmm. I also have enough Killer Beetles to upgrade my switchaxe, but I need more Malachite Ore. This is hard! D:

Anybody have tips on repelling Ceadus? I kept hacking away at it, thought I was supposed to keep it going towards area 3, but instead I lose when he breaks open the passage. Also, anybody know what element he's weak to? I was using Fire (Djin)

I went with the Azi Dahaka, and I killed a Great Jaggi with it in about a minute. Its stun ability is freaking sweet.

@BellGo Riiing His weeknees is dragon -4 and lightning -3. just keep hacking away till you get to area 3.. I beat him last night.

That's what I did Tech, hacked away, but once he got to towards the end of area 2 and broke a hole I lost...

Set cha cha to his weekness and attack his head. i dont think i did anything special to get him to let me follow. i failed my first try the same way. i used a great sword. JayArr beat him maybe he knows something special to do.

Have you guys done the Phantom event? It's hilarious.

@pixelman... Rhenopolis Armor is actually quite easy to acquire. The armor looks like a massive tank and once you put armor spheres and armor sphere plus into it, and if you have it the talisman that is Plus Ten to Auto Block. I take on the Barroth Charge and Auto Block and only take maybe 15% Damage. Its really nice. I like it, looks crazy too.

@Chrono.... get directly under the Barroths tail and use an overhead swing with the G Sword and you have very little chance of getting hit by the mud. Works for me as if I go right I usually get hit. Also the Rhenopolis Armor has very high stats against the Mud wich helps if you get his as well. As Machu also said.... keep a few Cleansers for when it doesnt work or just run to the next area and cool off a bit.

About to finish up Three Star Levels completely and also bout to finish by Barroth Armor.

@slapshot: Yep, I have that talisman equipped. I haven't made any Armor Sphere +'s yet, though. The Barroth armor looks sweet. I'm going to forge some when I get more powerful. :3

...Anyone know where I can find info on like...the food skills? I mean, I guess some of them seem obvious but others I can't really figure out. Anybody have a list or something?
