Metal Gear Solid TS deserves 9/10 in my eyes.
The guy who wrote the Metal Gear review also wrote the Tomb Raider Legend review.

Atlantis1982

Victorious Boxers Revolution
Space Invaders Get Even (for some reviewers it was bad)
Red Steel

Can't think of any others, but I have others that did got terrible reviews, and it baffles me.

And I liked it more than you! And I have beaten it twice!

Thanks for the reminder.

Edit 2
You know what, I been seeing a few Non-Nintendo releases and I am going to add one other game that I am kind of surprise it got so much flak:
Dungeons and Dragons Online

ET for the Atari 2600 and the Zelda games for the CD-i. All games that just get heaps of "worst game ever" crap thrown on them, largely by people eho haven't even played them, and more or less exclusively because all the other cool internet kids are doing it. Neither games are amazing or anything, but they're all perfectly decent games that don't deserve anywhere near the hate they get.

The Legend of Heroes games on PSP didn't fare to well in reviews, but I love them.

Plain old gamer :)

Every single sonic game ever.
Kirby Air Ride
Enter the Matrix
Super Mario Sunshine
Battle Lode Runner
Godzilla Unleashed
Rampage Total Destruction (GCN versio, the controls are f'd in the wii one)
Mad World (not really rated lowly, but alot of things in it were criticized when they weren't even a problem, such as the targeting.)

There's probably ALOT more, but this is all I got for now.

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

Someone said Red Steel. I had a blast with that game (especially multiplayer), so I'll have to add that to my list.

@Adamant: Well said, my friend. I haven't played the CDi games, but ET for the Atari 2600, dubious legacy aside, was not the "WORST GAME EVAR!" that some claim. It was not good. No. But there were certainly plenty of other Atari and contemporary games that were far worse.

Have YOU played the Cdi zelda games? It doesn't sound like it. I have, and they deserve every bit of hate they get. Though not the WORST games ever, they do suck. Alot.

Some retro games I recently bought that are often criticised are:
Independence Day (You know what the hell, the movie and the game!)
Hotel Mario (Sure it's bad, but not apocalypticic bad!)
Several 3DO Games (I know you hate it Corbie, but your reason is personal!)
Killer Instinct
Crazy Taxi 1,2, and 3
The Dreamcast (Most Underated console ever!)
X-Men Origins: Wolveriene (Wii Version)

Battle Lode Runner was poorly reviewed? I loved that game so much! It's a great party game.

Earthbound (SNES)
All 6 Megaman Battle Networks (GBA)
All 3 Megaman Star Forces (DS)
Kirby Air Ride (GCN)
Magical Starsign (DS)
Mr. Driller Online (XBLA) A great time waster.
Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (N64)
Goemon's Great Adventure (N64)
Sonic Unleashed (PS3) I actually preffered the Werehog stages for some reason...
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (GCN) Best Sonic ever, imo
Dokapon Kingdom (Wii) A party/RPG? Hey, it works!
The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning (Xbox)
The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night (PS2)
Crash Twinsanity (PS2)
Star Fox Assault (GCN)
Evolution Worlds (GCN)
Phantasy Star Universe (360)
Phantasy Star Portable (PSP)
Mega Man Legends 1 & 2 (PS1) Some of the best Mega Man games ever made.
The Misadventures of Tron Bonne (PS1) Gotta love those Servebots!
Great Greed (GB) Betcha never heard of THAT one!
Super Bomberman (SNES)
Wario's Woods (SNES)
Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose (SNES) Only 38.50% on Gamesrankings? MADNESS!
WTF: Work Time Fun (PSP) Great in short bursts.
Advance Guardian Heroes (GBA) Story makes no sense, but the gameplay is pretty good.

That's all I can think of right now, but there may well be even more I've forgotten about at the moment.

I'm a lifelong gamer who'll play just about anything that sounds good, regardless of reviews. My Backloggery is still a work in progress, but when it's done you'll know what I mean.

Own them, beaten them, enjoyed them. What's supposed to be so bad about them? They're perfectly fine action-adventure platformers.

What? But... what? What!? Everyone I know who's played that game like it a lot, and it got great reviews back in the day. What's wrong with the world?

"Karate" and "Sssnake" are often brought up when the real "worst 2600 game ever" is discussed. ET is godly compared to those.

I totally agree, however it holds a total rating of 8.5/10 on Game rankings, so we who appreciate this gem can assume the reviewer is one of the few exceptions.

Back on topic (based on Game rankings):
Tenchu Shadow Assassins,
Castlevania Lament of Innocence,
Castlevania curse of darkness,
Gungrave
Tales of Symphonia 2
D2
Granstream Saga
Guilty Gear Isuka
Shinobi (PS2)
Megaman X8
Megaman X6
Street Fighter Ex 3

@ Metal Mario:

There's a bunch. Karate for the 2600 was mentioned, that's a good example. Of course there's things like Custer's Revenge as well. I'd actually have to go through my carts for titles of games that i've since blocked out. The real problem with ET was that it was drastically hard to figure out what you're supposed to be doing, and that even when you did (locating and assembling the pieces of the "phone home" device), the gameplay was dull and repetitive. It surely deserves ridcule as a bad game, but not "worst ever".

That being said, i'm not actually sure what i'd consider to be the "worst" game out there ... it seems that even the most horrid of games have some redeeming qualities.

I know Super Mario Sunshine is hailed as one of the worst Mario games by a lot of people, but I actually enjoy my copy a lot.

But being the worst Mario platformer doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad game because ALL the Mario games are awesome! It's like being the worst Zelda game.

(And Sunshine is actually my favorite Mario game)
