@Mana_Knight I’m super sorry. That sounds super scary, and something like that happened to my family a few years ago with my brother, so I can relate a lot. It just feels awful not knowing what will happen next. I pray that your mom is ok and feels better.
@Pastellioli Thank you. Appreciate it. I know this is a weird place to reach out and talk about this sort of thing, but I don't know where else I can say something about it. Hope that all was ok for your brother and he is doing ok now. Yes, not knowing makes it so much worse. I have no idea if I am worrying too much and thinking of doomsday scenarios for no reason.
@Mana_Knight It’s fine to talk about it here, this thread is for talking about any kind of topic.
My brother is fine, he is doing well, but when that happened me and my family were so worried and sad. He was fine in the end, but it was such an awful experience I wish I could forget from how scary it was, and me thinking of the possibilities of what could have happened just make it worse. Again, I am sorry and I hope that you and your mom are doing okay.

@Mana_Knight I am sorry to hear that! I’ll be praying for you!! I can’t directly relate, but this happened to one of my friends and I was worried for him the whole time. He is better now btw. I know it can be scary, but I hope you and your family will be fine.
Yesterday in some Facebook group some people posted that they have found a hedgehog in bad condition. We (me and my wife) saw that it is in 30 minutes from home, so we ran and found the little guy.
No vets were open yesterday, so I waited to bring him this morning when they open in 10:30. Unfortunately, it died around 9:00. This is the second hedgehog we buried this year We placed it near the other one in the field (our old place where we lived).
Maybe I am the Charon for the hedgehogs or I am the Hedgehog whisperer
It was for just one night with us, but it still feels bad.
@Zuljaras glad you put that pesky blue hedgehog out of his misery.
Terrible jokes aside, I’m really sorry you went through all that and would like to extend my condolences. If it’s any consolation, Dead animals for me are honestly always a traumatic sight so I deeply synthesize with your situation and hope you’re not too disturbed by it. I may have a begun with an awful joke to lighten the mood but I share the same sentiments. I’m still haunted by the sight of that one dead cat I saw at the corner of my eye while driving a few months ago, and that one squashed bird that nearly traumatized me while I was crossing the road 5 years ago.
May that hedgehog rest in peace and May you find peace as well.
@Yousef- Thanks I am not traumatized. I am saddened by the sight of dead animals, but it is a part of life and there is no way around it. That is why when I can, I try to help some poor animal get back on its feet
PS: Black, morbid and actually traumatizing humor is my favorite btw so again, no worries!
@Zuljaras that’s heartbreaking. I love animals a lot, so hearing about them getting hurt and dying is so painful and depressing. It amazes me that I’m sometimes able to handle and stomach stuff like that when I see it or hear it in videos...it makes me sad when someone tries to help an injured animal and is unable to in the end, or an animal is hurt or diseased and there is nothing you can do about it. It’s not about dead animals, but a few years ago me and my family had pet dogs that belonged to our house owner, and one of them later got this heart disease that would make her cough so much and there wasn’t anything we could do about it to make her feel better or reverse the disease. When we moved, we had to give the dogs back to the house owner, but to this day I still don’t know what happened to her in the end, and it makes me sad that I never got to say goodbye to her one last time. She was so playful and cheerful, and I’m sad I’ll never be able to see her ever again. I’m sorry about what happened with the hedgehog.
@Yousef- I haven’t come across dead animals where I am luckily, but there was this one time me and my grandma were walking to get mail at our old house and I there was this mouse caught in a mouse trap on the road and it looked all dried up from the sun…that one just looked so awful.
@Zuljaras Animals are so great and I am happy I was able to have pet dogs and experience having animals in my company, but what really happened with one of the dogs we had was heartbreaking. I just get really sad over pet animals and animals in nature getting hurt and sick, since they have such bright futures and lives ahead of them. I always like seeing the little squirrels that roam around near the bushes and trees in the park. Just the sight of them makes me happy! They always look playful and friendly. Squirrels are my most favorite animal, and I love them a lot.
As an adult, Dan Torrance worked in a hospice, and used his shine to comfort dying patients during their final moments. So they began calling him Doctor Sleep.
@Pastellioli It is always hard to let go but nature is nature. Hmm about squirrels ... they are like a pest to me. Again, my wife calls them cute and wants to pet them. I prefer to have a catapult to see how far they can fly
@Eel Yes! Sorry I did not mention that I watched the movie! I watched right after the Shining as I am ashamed to admit that I missed this amazing horror ALL THESE YEARS! Doctor Sleep was more terrifying to me, but the acting of Jack Nicholson was sublime. Have you noticed how he looks right at the camera sometimes when he movies his eyes from one place to another. That was surreal!
@Zuljaras You don’t like squirrels? Aww. Though I will admit, they look cute in appearance and I love drawing them for that reason, but I’d probably not pet one in the wild or hold one. I think owning squirrels as pets is illegal in most states, but even if it was legal, I wouldn’t own one. I do get a bit nervous when I am in the park and one gets too close to me and then leaves. I don’t want them to scratch or give me rabies! I prefer to draw them, see them play in the park and see them in the media I consume, which you can probably see with my avatar picture.
@Pastellioli It is more like that I don't mind them. As much as I like animals in general and I try to help them there are some of them that I REALLY dislike. Like one certain breed of dogs that I find repulsive to look at I mean it is so ugly in my mind that I can't find a way to like it
Yet on the other hand I find snakes, spiders, scorpions beautiful
@Eel I read about the changes and must really start reading more books (this one included), but that would interfere with my gaming, drawing, sculpting and work I need a Time-Turner from Harry Potter!
