@Anti-Matter - I didn’t watch the Direct, but I think I’m all caught up on what was shown. I can’t wait for the TMNT game.

@TheJGG - It did end up healing just fine, and as bad as a torn iris sounds; it really didn’t hurt that bad. It freaked me out more than anything because I couldn’t see out of it. This was a long time ago, but I did take a tree branch to the same eye a couple years ago, so I assume it’s a matter of time before karma finishes the job. Still plotting the revenge, so you can only imagine how epic it’s going to be 30+ years in the making. He’ll never see it coming.

@NintendoByNature - And then Kane will chokeslam this pathetic cartridge.

@ogo79 - Dang man, I’d have been nervous just leaving the house with all that cool stuff stashed inside. Probably would have looked into some kind of guard animal, like a dragon or a Sasquatch or something like that.

@ThanosReXXX - Ah, of course, well, we plan on being bombarded with the same cosmic dust that changed Reed Richards, so hopefully it’s enough to stretch infinitely. Good question on the blue skeletons. What could they be... freshly filleted Vulcans?

@Tyranexx - Ha, thanks! There’s been a lot of terribleness in the last year, but I’ve felt really lucky to spend this time with them. The abundance of family time as well as free time to work on the place have really been the silver lining. I feel for people trying to work from home and get their kids through distance learning. My brother used to rent some of those edutainment games from the library, so I did play a few of them. Really enjoyed the Carmen San Diego games. He had a Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark point and click game that actually used to terrify us.

@Tyranexx I did get OutRun on the Switch a few years ago. It's a good game for sure and its music is awesome, though I don't get too far in it unless I increase the time limit! If it's the default amount, I run out of time on every attempt, lol.

On Castlevania: I played a good amount of the series. So far, I've played the original, Rondo of Blood, Super Castlevania 4, and Bloodlines, as well as a little bit of 2 and 3. Most of the ones I've played, I definitely like, but they are quite challenging! Though I kinda have to agree with the AVGN on Castlevania 2...I've played it on the NES Classic and didn't like it that much. That one is kind of a chore to play. Other than that, yeah I think it's a good series! There is Castlevania Anniversary Collection if you wanna try out more of the games. I have it on Switch.

@Eel @Anti-Matter @Wavey84 (and Tyranexx) In my game room, I have a Vizio 55" TV. It is actually capable of 4K, but that's really just a bonus to me, lol. All my games look quite good on it, IMO. I got that while shopping for a new TV for myself. My home is kinda small, so I think it gets the job done. One annoying quirk about it though, is that it turns off game mode every time I turn off the TV.

I noticed some of modern TV didn't even have Component output even for same brand like SHARP. They just only have HDMI output. Component output is very important to play older generation video games such as PS2 and Wii. I have ever used Composite to HDMI converter for Wii but the output result was too bright and quite washed out (But it worked well for Gamecube games from Wii).

Heh, well, I do play quite a variety of games, @Losermagnet .... I'm glad I got to play the original trilogy with my XB1 s, that'll get traded in when I go into town to do that & some shopping & while the games were on GamePass! I heard they had terrible controller support for PC version, oddly but they specifically said that was sorted out with Legendary Edition

I played Yokai Watch 1 3DS a lot recently.
I have unlocked rank B, my main team has reached level 29+. I was in mission to find Katie at school (haunted school during midnight). There were some Yokais i want to get them but i still never get any of them even i have gave them some foods to raise a chance to get them. Any other methods to get them frequently ?

@DannyBoi
Are you so anxious with Direct and upcoming games ? 🤨
You literally posted that link on This or That thread and here.
Chills, dude.
Don't feed your anxiety with Direct and upcoming games rumours.
Just play with your current games to make you happy.

@Anti-Matter My TV (which I got in 2018) actually has one set of component ports, I actually have my soft-modded Wii hooked up to that. Never noticed that newer TVs ditched component inputs, but I think it's because most people today have more current devices hooked up to it, including game consoles. (Like the Switch, PS4, and Xbox One)

@DannyBoi Honestly, I don't really trust rumors...I wait for Nintendo to make official announcements on what products they're making. If I were you, I would keep your expectations modest at most.

I have tested by using Composite to HDMI and PS3 component cables for my PS2 machines and the result differences was like day and night. Using composite to HDMI for PS2 just made the image quality became even worse. PS2 machine with PS3 component cable = really good in 480i for games like DDR PS2, Beatmania IIDX PS2, etc. BEMANI games looked as sharp as Arcade style by using PS3 component cables even they are not 720p / 1080p.

I will not put my DDR PS1 games on my PS3 Slim despite the output was 1080p as i found it made the arrows move faster than the songs and it ruined the music sync.
I got very bad result by playing DDR PS1 on PS3 machine due to heavy off sync.
PS3 was not suitable for playing rhythm games from PS1 due to different emulating process.

Today I worked a little on Castletoria The game is now fully ported to Game Maker Studio 2 from GMS1.4. There were lots of bugs

I tweaked some things shown on the screenshots. Now with GMS2 I can "handcraft" the rooms. Which will result in more variety and random details

@Tyranexx My backlog right now consists of The Wonderful 101: Remastered (which I backed on Kickstarter), Ōkami, Trials of Mana, Ni no Kuni, Kingdom Hearts III, Tomb Raider trilogy among others. God I hate Wonderful 101. The control scheme is so contrived on Switch and it has such stupid difficulty. Tried the first (FIRST!) boss fight and got so frustrating I deleted the game. Don't think I'll be putting it back for a very long time; even on a larger television screen it's so hard to keep track of everything. Plus the low-poly models are ugly...

I don't even use a printer all that much now due to COVID. Everything I do work-wise is distributed online anyhow, so not only is it good for health and safety, it's also very good for the environment. Having said that my argument against the whole "saving the planet by not eating meat" thing is that it's complete BS. Not in that it's false but the meat's already been made, so not eating it won't undo the massive amount of damage it's done to the environment. My mind works in that black and white sense; so that may explain why not many people think in that process?

Some news stations could... run non-Coronavirus stories? Ultimately the only time I go to a television at all is to either play video games, or watch Formula One. That's the only thing I use cable television for myself, but my family like football, rugby, cricket... the whole nine yards. It's not really for me, even though I'm a very athletic person football is such a wildly cultish sport, same with American Football, and cricket, that I just don't want in. F1 seemingly has a very small base of fans, though they're very outspoken.

This weekend is a race actually so it'll give me a very welcome opportunity to disconnect from the world and tune into some cold hard racing! There's 21 more races after that this year, at least for Formula One... I've started getting into other racing series as well, hopefully to make the summer denser; such as Super Formula, and IndyCar. I looked at the schedule and I'll be able to watch all but five of the Indy races; the ones I can't see are because of how late they begin. I am NOT a night owl, so waking up between 10pm and 3am is not on the cards!

I don't know why but there seems to be a very vocal group of people that hate on Sky News. Dunno what's up with them, it's a very great place for news. I assume it's politically motivated, politics really bring out the worst in people. Unless it's with trusted family you never really know if someone'll lash out by letting their politics speak for them.

Yeah Ramadan fasting includes water. I didn't intend on fasting today but I managed to forget to drink for nine hours. I can therefore surmise that... I'd rather go twelve hours without water instead of twelve hours without food. Ironic considering you can only go three days without water, but three weeks without food. Swim training's been rescheduled so the coaches can return home on time to break their fast, and so the other swimmers who also fast, come back for a special 8pm training session. As if I'd ever go for that but it's good that it's there.

It did get better, and I saw it less as a vent and more an expression of absolute raw frustration. An ice pack and sleep solved everything and I was back exercising the next day. Then, knowing my atrocious luck I smashed my hand against the metal ladder in the swimming pool, and couldn't feel my hand for a solid five minutes. That's bruised but it's not gonna kill me.

Free dress should be standard but of course there's the risk some chick'll show up showing so much leg that she'll knock out all the boys. So here it's perfectly fine, from my side at least, to wear uniform. I miss free dress of course but it eliminates visual social class elements, so bullying based on wealth is harder.

Social media is indeed a double-edged sword, that can be used for you as much as it can against. I'm not interested in dealing with toxicity on social media platforms, not because I'm insecure, but because I'm pragmatic and considering all angles. Besides, while there'd be a small group of people that could be worth reaching out to through social media, there'd also be a small group of people that aren't so savoury. So keeping those kinds of people away from me is better than dealing with them, plus getting some good contacts.

I'm not a fan of selling my life, and people that've tried to convince me said that of course it's not the main feature. Even if I used it purely for DMs something would never have sat well with me anyway. I'm not worried that I'll get addicted but it's such a mainstream platform that doesn't suit my preference for not following the status quo. I've thought about it since and I've come to the following conclusion; that people wanting to reach out to me through Insta... may as well try to use a jet pack to fly to the moon.

@Tyranexx Ah, don't remind me: it's been ages since I've been to an actual pizza place, and I don't mean anything commercial like Domino's or the like. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-related restrictions, it would seem that it's going to take quite a bit longer until I'd even be able to go to a pizza place again, so for now, it's pizza from the frozen deli department in the supermarket...

@bimmy-lee I've no idea? Are all Vulcans blue-bloods? They sure are emotionally detached/cold, so that could also account for blue blood...

@Wavey84 No offense and nothing personal, but factually speaking, that's a whole hell of a lot of nonsense. Had you started your comment with "in my opinion" then I possibly wouldn't even have bothered responding, but in this case, I'm making an exception...

I mean, come on, a 55 inch not cutting the mustard anymore? Just your opinion, my friend, and definitely no fact. There's a distinct and VERY useful reason that we have these official industry standards where the size of the screen that's suitable for you is related to the size of the room you'll put it in, combined with the distance from which you should watch, which by the way at 55 inch is at least 7,5 feet, so if you feel or think you need to sit (far) closer than that, you're either myopic and in dire need of some seriously strong spectacles or contact lenses, or you're heading towards getting either one of these, seeing as you'll ruin your eyes, if you keep it up long enough...

And besides that, sitting too close to an even larger screen would probably necessitate you looking left and right all the time, and in a far more exaggerated way than is natural, to take in all the action going on at the screen at any given time. Ideally, you should be able to view the ENTIRE screen in one glance/from one single viewpoint, instead of having stuff escape from your attention because it's only barely noticeable in your peripheral view...

Sure, it can be more immersive, but it's actually also far more straining to the head, neck, shoulders AND your brain, so it's far from recommended to practically press your nose right up against a 60 or 70 inch screen...

On a side note: and basically telling people with smaller screens to "get with the times" isn't really very classy at all, even if it was only meant as kind of a half-serious joke.

@Zuljaras Ah... stick figure animations. Reminds me of the great times when these were actually a thing. Here's a couple of cool ones that contain some of my favorite scenes:

@Anti-Matter You should obviously NOT use composite to HDMI converters, but an ACTUAL component to HDMI converter, which when it's not also an upscaler, will be a direct through-put of the signal, and as such will also not suffer any lag. Here's an example of what to look for in your local area or Amazon store:
https://www.amazon.com/Portta-N3CVRHP-Component-Converter-sup...

@MarioLover92 Might be worth investigating and/or keeping in mind for you as well...

@Anti-Matter - That’s a cool place, I really like the odd, angular room on the second story made of concrete. I just want to go inside cool building like that and check them out.

@ThanosReXXX - Ah, I thought you were a Star Trek fan, but I missed the mark on my joke because I googled and Vulcans have green blood, not blue. So a swing and a miss on my part. I could swear you’ve mentioned ST before, but maybe another series? It’s in the original series that we learn Vulcans have green blood.

@bimmy-lee Well, I actually AM a Star Trek fan, but the original series was never completely broadcasted over here, so I've only ever seen snippets or single episodes, every once in a blue moon, so that might explain my poor knowledge on that particular bit of information...
