@ThanosReXXX Yeah it wasn't you in particular that replies to his posts a lot, but various people have done for a while. It's true that the drawings are all very similar and there's nothing inherently wrong with joking around with them, but I don't think it's unreasonable of him to find it insulting when you say his drawings are boring.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
Butch Hartman didn't even draw his own characters. The person who did the art for his shows is the same person who did Kim Possible. It's evident in recent years that the guy has really shabby artistic abilities.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
@Dogorilla Well it is what it is I stopped being constructive towards him long time ago when I saw that it is IMPOSSIBLE to give him any advice on anything.
Especially after what he is doing lately ... logging out of his account to see who of his ignored users has posted something so he can post as well. He is doing this to be noticed
@Dogorilla Well, no offense meant, but I think they are boring, or rather: as I explained before: they have become boring, because it's basically just LEGO, at this point. Parts are swapped every time, but the core image is still the same every time, and this thread is about artists and inspiring others with your drawings, build projects of photographs, and I'm sorry to say but copy/paste stuff is not really very inspiring.
@Link-Hero I'm not making excuses for anything, I just thought people were being unnecessarily rude. I appreciate Anti can be unpleasant at times too but I don't know why people keep going on at him instead of just ignoring him. That's why we have the ignore button.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
@Dogorilla Probably because some of us don't want to use the ignore button, because it's the ultimate form of defeatism/flee vs fight, and if you're not the one doing something wrong, why should YOU bow down and remove yourself from the equation by using that option? You may feel that you're removing somebody else, which is exactly what this function is supposed to make you think, but in fact it's you running away.
Well, I'm staying, so no ignore button usage for me.
As for him being unpleasant: far as I'm concerned, that's not even the case. He IS stubborn, hard-headed, selectively deaf and blind to a lot of things and comments that are actually meant as constructive, EVEN if they sometimes DO come across as harsh or a bit too much in your face.
I always try to keep certain factors in mind, such as him being from another part of the world, and as such having other views, ideas and upbringing, which shapes a person, obviously, and which might make communication less straight forward than between you and me, for example, and then there's also the fact that he has Asperger's, so he's in the spectrum of autism, but even that is no excuse.
I know several people that are also in the spectrum, but they are all high-functioning, logical people, if a little quaint at times. But never overly stubborn, self-pitying or as is the case with Anti sometimes, overly sensitive for his age.
So, it's not that he himself is unpleasant, there's just SO many factors all together that we might have to take into account, or not, and that makes communication, or trying to get somewhere useful when discussing things with him pretty exhausting, to say the least. And as such, as all normal people sometimes do, we lose our patience.
Nothing weird about that, and as a full-grown adult (he's 35 or older), he doesn't need anyone to hold his hand or to shield him from all the "bad" commenters on here. In fact, that kind of behavior could actually be WAY more damaging than him getting a bit of reality to chew on from time to time, because it's giving him positive confirmation that his behavior is warranted and okay, while it most definitely is not.
Anyways, I've now already said way more than I wanted to say about this and I don't want to be the a-hole that ruined this thread, so here is where I'll stop, before it also ruins my own weekend...
Nothing personal towards you, though. Just thought I'd explain myself and my views on this.
@VoidofLight I agree, and some people were really defending this dude, saying he didn't trace they saw him do it, you mean that 5 sec of footage that already had the whole thing drawn he was just making the lines darker, some people are just dumb AF.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!
(My friend code is SW-7322-1645-6323, please ask me before you use it)
@Dogorilla Well... I'm a very fair person when it comes to constructive feedback, but it's not a personal gripe about Anti's art style itself. He literally copy-pastes the same ab, eye, hair and muscle textures, recolouring some stuff here and there. It laughs in the face of true artistic merit and if I did that for an art project I'd probably get an automatic fail for the amount of copy-pasting that's been done.
I personally have absolutely no tolerance for bullying. This is not a double-standard though because I'm not bullying in this case. I'm providing constructive feedback, and opportunities for growth, which many users here have done before. But if it takes one joke to get onto the coveted Ignore list, or to get reported, then it takes away any enjoyment out of giving feedback.
@ThanosReXXX And what's funnier is that Anti posts almost in response to any constructive feedback that's given. Oh, so you don't like this random butch kickboxer I made? There, I made another one just with a different hairstyle and colour. It became samey after seeing three drawings.
@Zuljaras Well that's a very nice drawing. But it's not like you're surprising anyone with your artistry (in a good way)
Butch Hartman didn't even draw his own characters. The person who did the art for his shows is the same person who did Kim Possible. It's evident in recent years that the guy has really shabby artistic abilities.
@VoidofLight I did some looking into it and man, that Mikasa Ackerman fan artwork not only looks extremely similar to the original but somehow actually looks worse. Mikasa's a very reserved character so seeing Butch Hartman.... butcher Mikasa's external character traits of calm, collected and reserved... is not nice.
For people who don't know; the one on the left in the original and Hartman's is on the right.
@VoidofLight He got Mikasa's eyes and lips absolutely wrong, and destroys the mysterious and reserved effect the eyes in the original gave. Shame because I like Mikasa's character.
@TheJGG Yeah.. it's a shame that he did that. Makes me wonder too if the stuff on his youtube channel that he draws were all pre-planned and done by someone else, and he's just piggybacking off it like how he did with the art director for Fairy Oddparents.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
@ThanosReXXX I wouldn't say that using the ignore button is defeatist. If someone is bothering you in real life, you're under no obligation to continue engaging with them (depends on the circumstances of course, but generally speaking). I can understand not wanting to ignore people on here for various reasons though.
As for him being unpleasant: far as I'm concerned, that's not even the case. He IS stubborn, hard-headed, selectively deaf and blind to a lot of things and comments that are actually meant as constructive, EVEN if they sometimes DO come across as harsh or a bit too much in your face.

Agreed, 'unpleasant' was a quick oversimplification on my part. Although I will say, as an autistic person myself, stubbornness and sensitivity are fairly common autistic traits.
That's a fair point, but on this occasion I don't think there was anything wrong with his behaviour. All he did was post some artwork and I felt that people were picking on him unfairly.
@TheJGG I can see that you and everyone else meant no harm, but if you didn't want it to come across as bullying I think it would have been better to leave him alone after he said he was offended. Also - and this isn't a slight against you, just an observation - it's a little ironic that you criticised the repetition of Anti's artwork by making almost exactly the same joke as Thanos did. Or maybe that was the point?
Anyway, I've already derailed this thread enough so I'll leave it there. I'd contribute to the thread properly if I had any modicum of artistic talent , but I'm probably better off leaving it to the experts
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
@Dogorilla Yeah you put it nicely. My joke (parody of Anti's chibi-boxing stuff) was that it was repetitive and that was my exact intent, to copy Thanos' joke and do it with another one of Anti's pieces. So it was a joke on many different levels because not only did I criticise the work I also did it to the exact same extent that Thanos did.
I'm also on the autistic spectrum and I observe in my own life instances of stubborness and sensitivity, but even then I don't agree with the way it was handled by Anti. 'Tis a matter of putting up with everyone good or no, so this won't change much all said and done. But your points ring true very much so.
