@crimsontadpoles That literally never happened to me. Probably because I'm rather reserved with my insect glaive jumps, unlike those hunters who happily send Raging Brachydios flying into the lava.
Far more likely was the mount itself just failing due to awkward positioning, especially against Gogmazios... never try mounting immediately after he rushes a lower wall.

@meleebrawler thanks for all your help, you're a very skilled hunter. I've made it to HR6 now.

My weapons and armour are probably far too weak to do HR6 quests, so I might just keep lurking in the HR5 quests for now

@crimsontadpoles No problem. We did kinda have to get away from those droves of urgent-craving hunters after all . And I should also thank you, since I can likely complete my high rank Gammoth set now.

@Joeynator3000 Yeah, we should definitely hunt together sometime. I'll need to make better weapons and armour first, otherwise it'll just be a case of me hiding in the corner while you do all the work

I could help you find some high rank armor/weapons, depending on the monsters anyway.

I'll probably just farm one of the weaker HR5 monsters for weapons and armour, and that should keep me going for a long time.

Well it's far too late for me to hunt anyway. I'll have shiny new armour soon enough.

@crimsontadpoles If you haven't made the low rank version already, Shogun Ceanataur armour is very good for general-purpose use with lots of extra affinity and Razor Sharp. Najarala is a good way to farm more efficiently via captures. Heck, you could possibly even make low-rank Shagaru armour: as an "end-game" low rank set, if you upgrade it a bit it'll have comparable defence to most early-to mid high rank armours.

In other news, I have been blessed with a 3-slot Blunt+5 talisman that I will delightfully stick on as many sets as possible.

So, yeah.
I kinda hope MH5 is just an NX launch title for Japan, and we get 5U/G as a simultaneous release. Launching three games in three years in the US would, in my opinion, be too much.
