Random: Travis Touchdown For Smash? That's A Big "No Comment" From Suda51

Id love to see him get added into smash, he has quite a bit of history with Nintendo but besides that, his personality would be quite unique among the roster.

If he's in then PLEASE for the love of all the gods out there do NOT give him a counter, practically the entire roster has a counter(exaggerating here but you get the point).

I can see his moveset being something I would like, I'm pretty good with the sword dudes in general. I really want Dante, imagine what combos he could do.

I'd say he's too "adult themed" of a character for Smash... but we do have Bayonetta, and hes pretty tame in comparison

I put Travis as my pick for Fighter 11 since as a huge video game nerd, it seems a nice cap to the huge video game love letter that is Smash, plus similar situation to Bayonetta in terms of tone of game + Nintendo exclusive sequel. Would be cool to see it actually happen.

Please no 😪 so many characters deserve it wayyy more than he does. A couple niche games with a marginal cult following over Crash, Spyro, Sora, Doom Guy, hell even Isaac from Golden Sun? If there were like 20 more characters being added then MAYBE but we only have 5 more coming!

Not to mention Joker is from a game that has loads of adult themes and monsters shaped like...inappropriate body parts. I don't think Travis comes close to pushing the boundaries.

Anyway, I think he could be cool. We need a snarky "I'm better than you" sort of guy on the roster.

I would buy him as a dlc character. So far, none of the dlc characters have been of interest to me but I always liked no more heroes on Wii.

Yes please. Also KOS MOS, Ryza or Ryu Hayabusa, Crash, Rayman or Hatsune Miku. I would replace Rayman for Doomguy, but I’m not sure how he sits after the MS buyout. (Yes I know we got Banjo).
But any of these characters would be a better pick than Waluigi.

I really want Ryu Hyabusha, but I am not going to complain if I see Travis strutting down the battlefield.

I've been a supporter of Travis, Shantae, and anybody but Waluigi for Smash since before they announced Joker, so I'm still hopeful.

The thing is if it was from another developer then you can assume that they could be added but with Suda is such a joker that I do know what too believe.

Indeed, #nowaluigi. Id rather have a new zelda Character (champions) waluigi is a waste of character slot lol. There are enough mario, pokemon and fire emblem characters (so please not more of them lol)

@Arkay why do people hate counters so much? You can bait them easy.

Xenoblade 2 needs a rep. They could just put in KOSMOS to represent the entire series.

While Travis would be pretty cool, the game has way too many anime human characters already!!

I could see this happening, tho I’d rather it not. We have enough anime sword fighters, tho Travis could have some grappling mixed in which would be cool. I just don’t think he fits in smash, same as bayonetta for their adult theme. I really doubt we’ll get any nostalgic Nintendo characters from the past as dlc but I’d love to see more representation there as we have too many guests at this point. Remember your roots sakurai.

Travis would make an excellent fighter for Smash.

That would be a great addition to the game. (I would love Juliet from Lollipop Chainsaw in smash , but that is just wishful thinking)

@raygboyd333 as much as I want Travis, charging the beam katana might be a strong reason for him not joining. It's a trademark of the character and it could be incorporated into a move set well. I just don't see Nintendo doing it. Unless, maybe Travis gets cheeky and faces away from the camera when he does it. But still, I think the implication is too strong.

I'd love if we get to the end of all of the Dlc we get Waluigi as a bonus

i dont think many of you have even played nmh. travis would fit right in, way more than most of these reps we've gotten

I want him in smash just so I can get a Amiibo of him XD plus id love to play as him though i think he would feal off as his personality would have to be toned down allot

@boop23 yeah definitely with the mix of his wrestling moves and beam katana plus his alt weapons from NMH2 he would have a large pool of moves to pull from. I dont know if you ever herd of it but there was a PS3 game from Platanom called Anarchy Rains (something like that) I thought he'd be perfect in aswell.

I hope Travis makes it into Smash. I also would really like to see Ryu Hayabusa and a Space Invader.

@Losermagnet exactly, which is why i feel like he's not going to be in it. this is the company that took inklings "gesture" in mario kart, just because they found it offensive to an extent...

The one dlc nobody would complaint about. About adult themes, i only recall the katana charging and that he is horny all the time, not an obstacle too hard to overcome yo be in smash (outside of the killing bloodbaths but theres no killing in smash). I think bayonetta is way more mature themed that nmh.
I hope for him and, hayabusa, lloyd, and other funny or classic char like the contra commandoes. My dream char now would be isaac (adult or young) my last dream char was terry.

Travis would be a fantastic addition. I 100% completed both Wii games, and beat other Suda51 games, such as killer7, Flower Sun and Rain, and Sine Mora EX.
I picked up Travis Strikes Again for Switch and will hopefully beat it in time before No More Heroes III.

I can understand Cloud and Joker being in Smash as Final Fantasy and Shin Megami Tensei started on the NES 30+ years ago and have plenty great Nintendo exclusive games. They just have that huge extra that can't be said about other 3rd Party characters like Dante, Sora, or Crash. Those definately need more time (and good games) in the Nintendo oven.

@AlienigenX Honestly she has a lot more moves then Travis Touchdown. But I can't stand Tara Strong's peppy bimbo voice.

That being said, I don't want Travis in Smash, I'd rather have him in a new fighting game where he won't be censored so enthusiastically.

I've already got Joker and Byleth in but Travis in would make Ultimate the perfect smash game for me.
