Sure, sure, we've seen Sakurai's insane gaming setup, but wouldn't you like to know more about the couch he was sitting on during the latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter reveal? Obsessive fans in Japan think they've now identified the exact model - or at least the brand of the couch - he sits on when he's at home.
According to the Twitter user @Dragon_lily, it's apparently a design by Japanese company Nitori. The couch featured in the first tweet (below) may not necessarily be the correct size and is more likely to be a two-seater, as noted by @SaberSnake.
Twitter user @Cheesemeister3k says the first model on display - priced at 161,029 Yen - equates to $1,506.42 USD. The two-seater is valued at 99,900 Yen, which is about $931.96 USD. Some fans have supposedly gone to furniture stores to try it out.
Unsurprisingly, this isn't the first time an item of furniture has been identified by Nintendo fans during a broadcast. As you might recall, the former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé was spotted using an old Herman Miller chair, and a petition was then created to get him a new one.

I’m not sure whether I should be impressed or worried for Sakurai’s safety. I’d rather his mummified corpse wasn’t found stuffed in a deranged fan’s extraordinarily plush sofa.
I couldn't care less about Sakurai's furniture. If he was shown chewing gum then Nintendo fanboys would be in Japan's landfills the next day trying to find it & sell it for 100000 Euros online.
It looks very comfortable. Personally, I would like to know where Kana Chan's (WWE Wrestler Asuka and Youtuber) couch came from. It looks really nice, though I will say that the chair reminds me of Sakura just by its look alone. Is that weird?

I remember in the early '90s, a Nintendo Power interview asked Miyamoto if he was ever recognized in public, and he responded like "the fans who would recognize me are probably at home playing video games".
I bet times have changed since then.
Didn't he also have to avoid speaking too much at one point, or fans would go crazy with speculation?
I clicked to see if that was all the article was... I was unimpressed to find it was. I didn't read it but the picture was fun to look at. It sure looks like a small living room if that plant pot on the left is also in a corner. I am somewhat surprised. It also looks nice and minimalist, though.
