With rumours flying about a remastered Spyro The Dragon trilogy is coming to Switch some time in the future, there are also persistent whispers that the other colourful mascot from PlayStation's early years is also Switch-bound. Yes, of course we mean Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, and a new listing on a Spanish online retailer is only adding fuel to that particular fire.
Said retailer, XtraLife, lists the Switch port - complete with a box art mock-up - for €49.99, although no release date is explicitly mentioned. Although the retailer has come out and stated the listing is only a placeholder. But a placeholder for what, we might ask..
This listing should be taken with a pinch of salt as we've seen mentions of this port seemingly disappear in the past, so until Activision officially goes on record, don't go setting your wumpa fruit-shaped heart on it just yet...
Would you play the remastered Crash Bandicoot trilogy on Switch? Or is it a port too far? Sound off below...

Just a matter of time. Makes a good fit.
I was not much of a fan of this series but I hope many will be excited for this to come.
I had both Crash Bandicoot 1 on the PS1 and Mario 64 on the N64. Crash didn't hold up well in comparison then so I dread to think what it would be like against Odyssey now.
That's N' SANE!
No shame.
I’d buy it.
Go ahead and release it on switch Activision, I will gladly double dip to be able to play these games anytime and anywhere. Same with Spyro the dragon while you are at it.
I’ve never played these games except once at a friend’s house so I’m excited about these rumors.
Still not getting it on PS4 because I’m pretty damn sure it’s coming to switch. I’ll be getting this day one on the switch though.
If it's coming, I hope it's a good port.
Please be real. I love me some tough 3D platforming.
If you pay attention you are going to see that with the game they also offer a free gift.
That normally happens when you preorder a game and they offer a little extra to guarantee the purchase before the release date.
If the ad is fake is a really good one as the person that did it even went the extra mile to mention this "gift" in the ad.
I have been holding off on getting it for the PS4 on these rumors I hope its true and the port is good. Maybe Spyro will be on its way as well exciting.
This makes me wish the Jack and Daxter Collection was coming to Switch. It’d be nice to have a GOOD portable version of the series. That said, I’d merrily stroll down memory lane with Crash and Spyro on Switch.
I always found Crash and Spyro as kind of depressing games. They had color but not in the way games like Mario and Banjo did.
Here's to hoping for a smooth port. Take game MAY have a capacity to eclipse itself in sales on Switch. Namely due to the extreme buying power owners have.
It would definitely be a thing to see it outpace the sales on Sony's system.
Would love this on switch , haven’t played it in years !
Nintendo's worst nightmare comes to the Switch. Time is up plumber boy, moustache man.
I borrowed Crash Bandicoot from someone back in the day. I think I played it for all of 2 hours. I wasn't impressed. I'll be skipping this remaster.
Side note: With what is happening with the Mega Man collection I wouldn't be surprised if Crash 1 was on the cart and 2 and 3 came on a download card.
'Crate expectations'? That deserves thumbs up.

Have it PS4 since launch and I STILL haven't played it. So if it does come to the Switch, it'll probably be a pass from me.
At least they did a collection right unlike Crapcom's cheap attempt.
@NESlover85 Shhh don't give them any ideas, if all devs are following Crapcom's practice then we all lose.
@MrGawain Yeah, I had Crash on PS1 and never liked it. Controls were clunky, Crash himself was annoying. Never understood why anyone who had access to Super Mario games would go for Crash.
Huge Crash fan. Love the 2.5D gameplay. I don't have a PS4. In like Flynn for a Switch release.
@JasmineDragon @MrGawain Apples and oranges (you can enjoy both). Crash is more comparible to the Donkey Kong Country games than Mario 64.
So, I'll just add this game to the growing list of third party titles hitting the Switch. Burnout Paradise, South Park ...but whole, Diablo 3 and now Crash Bandicoot. Should be a good year!
Now if only the game itself was decent enough... Those graphical issues have got to go. We can't depend on Panic Button every time... Even though they did a brilliant job at porting if this is true I really hope the folks themselves try to properly port it over. But then this is just a rumor, so eh
I rented the PS4 version and loved it. So if it does come to the Switch then I'm getting it.
I've just finished this on the PS4. I'd never played them much before on PS1, and I can say as a Mario and Nintendo fan first and foremost that I very much enjoyed all 3 games. It's not as good as Mario in my opinion, but this is still very enjoyable and shouldn't be missed simply because 'it's not as good as Mario'. If anything I'd say this is more of a true platformer compared to 3D Mario games, which can be more adventure like.
Oh, and getting 100% on these games is waaaaaay harder than any Mario game. To the point where I couldn't get 100% in any of them, but I've 100%'d every Mario game I can think of. I definitely prefer the easier difficulty of 100%'ing Mario games, it's just much more rewarding and fun.
@MrGawain Crash Bandicoot 2 is vastly better than the original. I love it just as must as Super Mario 64, to be honest.
On a side note have you guys heard that Rime is now fixed? Just saw a video comparison from version 1 and the update is really impressive...anyone else going to buy it now?
P.s Diablo 3 is apparently coming to switch and in development?!
@GrailUK They just confirmed Burnout Paradise Remastered for PS4/One and PC (later). No Switch version to be seen...
@SuperCharlie78 WHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!?????????!!!!!!!!!
I think everyone was expecting this to come to other platforms anyway right? Sony have had a year exclusivity. It's owned by Activision so they were never going to pass on potential multi-platform sales...
@GrailUK Because EA loves us
@Oscarzxn Unlike the Gamecube port of The Wrath of Cortex, I hope they don't screw it up lol.
@JasmineDragon Mainly because of this crazy thing called a difference in opinion/likes?
I'd buy it, but only if it gets released on Switch.
We got the best Mario in years, the best Zelda in years, the best Xenoblade (So far), and we might be seeing the best Crash in years.
Best console maybe?
Want, want, WANT!
That would be a cool addition to the Switch library!
@MrGawain But Crash was so much more edgy than Mario! That means he's cooler!
@Muddy_4_Ever - That was always the problem with attitude characters. They die with the fad they harp on.
Gex, Crash, Sonic (to an extent), Vexx, Spyro... All claimed the "badass" title at some point and eventually all went to the wayside.
@Paraka Yeah, I was joking. I HATED the "edgy, skateboarding, potty mouth, sorta creeptastic" mascot era in gaming. The Mushroom Kingdom has always seemed above that. Dignity endures (and however goofy they are, Mario and Luigi have a dignity about them).
@Deathwalka fixed might be pushing it, I would say tolerable since it still has some slowdowns. the diablo 3 is still a rumor sadly.
@Rafke i can see them compressing the games file size like almost everybody else is. also time trials are litterally a required part of the game.
@edgedino appreciate the feedback dude thankyou...
I saw an article and video on the time earlier today and it seemed like night and day?! So would you say it’s still not worth it?
Diablo 3 in development was something I saw a lot of today, I have never played a Diablo so I checked for gameplay of the 3rd one which is the rumour and it looks amazing! I hope this ends up being legit?
I’m pretty sure it’s going to be legit considering the PS4 Version does not have the ‘Exclusive to Playstation’ writing on the top right corner that all other PS4 exclusives 3rd party or not have
Can't wait for them to officially announce this only to tell us that only 1/3rd of the game is on cartridge with the rest being a download code.
@darthllama : That wouldn't surprise me. God knows why it's nearly 25GB on PS4 for a barely-improved set of three games from the 90s. Odyssey is superior in every respect and requires a little over 5GB. Even three games the size of Odyssey is smaller than the N Sane collection.
@kobashi100 yeah it was pretty awful. It’s a shame for what I consider one of my fav 3D platformers. It deserves better.
@Muddy_4_Ever - I hate to admit, I feel we lost a couple other good mascots because of that era. Earthworm Jim not able to find his calling was one I mourned into the 3D era of gaming.
@Deathwalka performance is better but for me personally i would say no to it still cause its massive file size compared to everywhere else and costs more (mind you i go for physical to save space) but its more to the point of if u find it worth it or not, to me no far from it.
"With rumours FLYING about a remastered Spyro The Dragon trilogy is coming to Switch" - did nobody else pick up on that one?
I was excited about Crash Trilogy coming to the Switch a while back but as time goes on I seem to be less and less bothered. I already have the original games on my PS3/Vita so might just play them instead.
@wazlon ya but the rumours also have been saying that it will be ps4 exclusive as well for a limited time just like crash.
@Audiobrainiac yeah big shame. I stopped playing the vita version after couple of hours. Performance issues just made it unplayable for me.
Shut up and take my Wumpa Fruits!
That would be neta even that I'd never been a massive fan of Crash's series (I skipped the PS and N64 generation). From that era I'm just waiting for a Sin & Punishment remake (sorry for the off-t). Another game that intrigues me from the first PS iteration is Vagrant Story but its clumsy controls always put me down. I'm a big fan of Matsuno's Tactics Ogre. The TO PSP remake would be a good fit for Switch as well.
@Audiobrainiac I doubt that, Crash was never a Sony series, but a Universal one (now Activision), the first 3 games and CTR were Sony permanent exclusives, acording to a deal with Universal that said that all Crash games after those would be multiplatform, but aparently now Activision bought them from Sony and for that reason now arecoming to the Switch or PC. Jak however, was and still is a Sony first party franchise, and I doubt they are going anywhere that's not PS.
Grew up with both Mario, Crash and other platformers. It was easy to enjoy Mario 64 alongside Crash because they're both really good. Really felt a sense of rhythm to level design in Crash 1 and the Crash universe just oozes personality.
Still debating whether I'd get this on the Switch. Already have both the PSOne originals and the PS4 N. Sane Trilogy, however, I've always enjoyed replaying Crash levels every now and then and the Switch's portability means I could do that anytime, anywhere.
@Oscarzxn I figured as much. I just like to dream of it.
I have it for PS4, Crash should stay on Sony systems.
@Tandy255 Of course you can. I personally got little to no enjoyment out of it, hence my statement. But if someone else actually enjoyed it, that's great. I am not literally sitting here in judgement of the game or its fans. I'm a fan of a great number of things that lots of other people think are trash.
@Meaty-cheeky
? Sony doesn't even own the IP and why rob Nintendo and PC players of the experience for no reason?
I was pretty bummed about missing out on the Crash remakes, since I never intend to own a PS4. So happy about this, and about time.
@Meaty-cheeky Crash Bandicoot were never Playstation exclusives. Look up the games and you'll see that it has been on Nintendo consoles as well.
Meh.
I’m sorry, but I’m all rumored out. Since launch, we have heard rumors about:
-GTA 5 (how this could happen, given the size of the game, I have no idea)
-Diablo III
-Fallout 4
-Crash Nsanity
-Fortnight
-Red Dead Redemption
I seriously wish that these companies would either squash the rumors, or make some sort of announcement already! I seriously doubt that remasters/rereleases are E3 worthy.
@MrGawain
I think comparing it to Mario Odyssey is a bit of an un fair comparison.... If anything I think it would be fairer to compare it to something like New Super Mario Bros U.
I'd consider Crash as more of a 2.5d side scroller with some mild 3d elements.
I had it on PS4 and for what its worth I thought it was a fantastic remake and well worth investing in.
I recently sold my PS4 and replaced it with an Xbox One S, I love the Xbox and have no regrets other than no longer being able to play Crash.
If it does release on Switch it will be a day one buy for me.
if the rumor is true (i doubt it is) it might no sell on Switch the games been out of a while the hype has gone and and a lot of people like myself would have brought it on PS4 so they probably wouldnt buy it again on Switch
@JasmineDragon Well, right now neither Crash nor Mario 64 is playable on Switch. Want to make a bet which one will arrive first?
Actually, DKC Freeze will probably release before both of them.
@KryptoKrunch I'm just a purest that's all. I also feel that Sonic should also be exclusive on Nintendo systems also, because of the Nintendo and SEGA rivalry of the 90's.
Most SEGA fans are also Nintendo fans.
@SimplyCinnamon53 I found Spyro to be a more colourful game than Banjo-Kazooie, but I certainly agree with you on Crash Bandicoot.
