Anyone that's been paying attention to the Switch eShop charts for North America or Europe has probably figured out that Enter the Gungeon has been a popular release. Now Dodge Roll Games has given an early sales figure to highlight how quickly the eShop userbase has embraced the dungeon crawler.
Check it out below.
We were big fans of it in our Enter the Gungeon review, describing the twin-stick shooting roguelike as being "right up there with the very best indie games on Nintendo Switch". It seems like a game particularly well suited to the hardware too - we've seen gamers on social media say that it's the sort of title they want to have on the Switch for easy portable play, while it can also be a fun one to tackle on the TV.
It's certainly pleasing to see another eShop success story on the Switch.

Hopefully they can patch it, bet they are kicking themselves about the price
its a bit buggy for me but love it to bits
Awesome game
Not sure why they would be kicking themselves about the price, looks like it was priced just about right by the look of the sales
I got this one immediately. I loved it on Steam but I hate playing games on my laptop so this was perfect.
£4.50 in the Russian eshop
Well worth that
The fact it's never reached number 1 and still sold 75,000 since it released gives an indication to how well Rocket League is doing. Apart from a few days on the US Eshop where it dropped to 2nd place, it's been number 1 in Europe and the US. Must be close to 1 million sales already.
I entered the Gungeon yesterday for the first time. Didn't play for long but I like what I see. Can see myself getting hooked by it.
Very fun game to play with a second player from time to time.
I knew it would come out on Switch too but I couldn’t wait and I bought months ago for Xbox, played a lot and then I bought it again for Switch and keep playing on this system.
Well nowadays it’s a common thing to say this game or that game is a perfect fit for the Switch, so I’m not going to say it again for Enter The Gungeon, but...
Hell, it’s a perfect fit for the Switch😆
Nice to see yet another success story from indies on the Switch.
Fun awesome game. Great news it's doing so well. The switch really is the star of the year for me. Success like this prove it. Also personally so happy I traded in the PS4. Love this system can't wait to see what comes next for it.
Never really knew much about the title but those are some delicious numbers.
I have a love/hate relationship with this game. I finally beat the first floor after 20+ attempts. I think ultimately I’m not a huge fan of roguelike level design.
It is undeniably fun, but I wish the co-op mode was available without beating the entire game, which I don’t think I will ever accomplish.
@kevinlo9 You have to beat the whole game? That’s weird. It’s a thing right away in the PS4 port. Hmmmm...
@kevinlo9 I'm pretty sure co-op is available right from the start. There is a character you talk to in the main hall at the start who asks if you want to play co-op.
Good to know. Thanks guys!
I don’t think I’ve seen This on the best Sellers’s list either... Makes you wonder what games like rocket league and overcooked are up to.
I haven't put near enough time into the game since getting it at Christmas but from what I have played it really is an excellent game. Haven't got past level 4 as of yet, and I don't care one bit, it is a ton of fun to play!
@kevinlo9 co-op mode is available the moment you start the game. talk to the purple mage. he can revive player 1 once as a spell, and if either of you dies, all treasure chests contain a revive instead of guns.
Fix the frame rate, Dodge Roll, it's unacceptable when the other versions (PC and PS4 for sure) run like silk.
(And yes, even in 'speed' mode, it runs poorly-- especially on boss fights.)
Love this game! Great for solo and co op. Made about 15 forays into the Gungeon so far. Died on the floor 4 boss-furthest I've been. Top 10 Switch games of 2017 for sure!
This game is not for me but I am thrilled it is selling so well... I hope all these success stories make it to all devs so the supply of amazing games keeps coming!
@ECMIM I tried replying to you last night, for some reason it didn't go through. I played the PC version at launch, and have had a few crashes with this Switch version, and some brief stutter on some bosses, but it's more a skill ceiling than stutter that has halted my progress. Compare this port to WWE18 in regards to slowdown issues.
Guys the top lists doesn't apply to your whole region like Europe, but the country only.
Great sales, i would of thought most indie games do well, they don't have to sell millions to make a profit
Great game. They totally deserved this success. This is a true quality title.
Great game, although I've only spent 1,5 hours with it yet because of all the moons in Odyssey
Good to hear an excellent game is doing well.
