Pokémon GO has racked up 752 million downloads since it launched last year, according to app intelligence startup Apptopia.
The smartphone app has also generated $1.2 billion in revenue so far - to put that in perspective, it generated $950 million in 2016 alone. While the title clearly has less momentum than it did last year, it's still pulling in the cash - and the recent update is only going to draw in more players and moolah.
Apptopia is also reporting that about 60 million players logged on during June, with 20 percent of them opening the game at least once a day. The game's peak was in August where it racked up 100 million monthly users.
The stats keep on coming, though - according to Apptopia, 57.4 percent of the game’s players are male, while 38 percent are millennials (aged between 19 to 34). 32.5 percent of its users are 18 or younger.

Pokemon GO isn't going away I guess
Interesting...
Very impressive sales numbers.
I'm surprised this game still has legs, but I never got into it myself.
I just picked this back up last week because I needed to get off my bum more.
The new features and added Pokémon are cool. I'm happy to see this still going.
It's a good way of making money from those who don't actually play games.
Behold, the horror of the casuals.
Pokenot GOing away
It's still a fun and engaging game. Niantic is doing a pretty good job on it, be it still a little slow on updates. The occasional events that increases spawn rates for different kinds of Pokémon make up for it though!
Though I don't know much players who pay for it, I usually put in around €5 for incubators after each big update, and do the rest with coins I get from gyms by playing the game. They do need to work for their money.
I can't help but think that their revenue will drop substantially with the new gyms... they've made it so much easier for proper players to earn coins.
Because of the action being taken against spoofers, my daily rewards have gone up from 20-30 coins per day to 30-50 coins per day.
Before I would only spend money on the game when I was in urgent need of something, but now that I've got more coins coming in, I can buy things in advance, so will probably not need to spend money on the game again at this rate.
Just waiting for the "Pokémon Go is dead" people to show up, if they already haven't.
I still play this.
Lol, here I am: I thought it was dead? Its definitely dead in Holland.
@HappyMaskedGuy I assure you, the die-hards still playing this game are anything but casual. Its a much bigger committment to jump in your car to drive 10 miles because someone in your town spotted a totodile than going on a scheduled guild raid in WoW by logging into a computer 5 feet away from you. The casuals stopped playing months ago.
I picked up a Go Plus recently and it's increased my participation in the game significantly.
Remember when this game used to be fun?
Niantic used Pay Day. It's SUPER EFFECTIVE!
Sorry I had to.
I still play daily and go through peaks and troughs of enjoyment depending if what short term goals I have.
Given the rate the gyms swap hands here in Sheffield there is still a decent community playing it.
One thing bothers me though: am I the only player who bothers to rename his Pokemon? I don’t think I’ve ever seen another player bother.
The recent Raid Update is nice, but they NEED to add trading and 1v1s by the end of the year, supposedly a while back they said that 3 major updates would come in 2017, being the Raids, Trading, and PvP, yet we're 1/2 way through the year and we've only gotten one of them
When the update for raid battles first arrived, I went out and was about to attempt a raid battle against a tier 4 Pokemon, when some guy approached me and invited me to help him and his friends take it down together. I was just surprised that people still went out to play the game as much as I still do.
As long as they keep adding and developing for it I think they can keep this going for a while. I know I like to play on the walk to the gym, makes the little walks more fun.
I finally got a new phone and am able to play this again!
@RadioHedgeFund They stopped showing other players' POkemon names and only show the breed, so they didn't have to wrry about policing the names.
