Infographics, we know you love them. But this one's not an effort by bridesdressesforu.com, or some such similar site trying to hit the Nintendo demographic, but rather the mighty Google. Nintendo's social teams have been plugging it, too, so it's the infographic that the internet overlords demand you see.
To be fair it's a pretty decent effort and has some interesting stats, such as the staggering statement that over 300 million games featuring Mario have been sold, which averages out at 27,000 a day - though we doubt Mario is Missing even hit that number in its entire time on the market. There are some Google search and YouTube stats for you modern world technology fans, too.
So, look at this nice infographic - Nintendo and Google say you must.

@arronishere Forget that....there's no mention of the Land series except 1, no lost levels.....basically, its just half presented. Looks good though.
Now I want SMG 1&2 remastered in HD even more. Maybe NX can be the remaster machine like PS4? Why remake WW HD and then stop? I'm pretty sure it sold OK. Still want Sunshine HD, but that needs to be completely reworked to get a FPS Gamepad view when using FLUDD like or at least gyro controls like in Splatoon. Galaxy just needs an HD widescreen facelift in a 2-fer-1 package,
@rjejr Yes.
Happy 30th Anniversary Mario!
Ha, Mario's Time Machine.
Pretty cool! As mentioned above, however, this is missing a couple key entries. I find it sad that SML2 isn't on there.
Bit of a facepalm that one of the "dozens of titles" Google mentions between "Super Mario World" and "the next entry in the series" ("Super Mario 64") is "Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island"
Should have included 3D Land and 3D World, or actually, every main releases. Though that might become a bit too long. Nice infographic btw.
I was born the same year Mario 64 was released, but my first Mario game was Mario World. Also what happened to 3D Land & World. Maybe do another chart for MarioKart & Sports games.
The YouTube bit about Mario videos precisely shows why Nintendo needs to get their mitts off the bloody YouTubers. It's free advertisement and the old men up in Nintendo don't realize that.
@mjc0961 I'm so sorry for your terrible eyesight; I know what it's like to live with glasses.
1989 should come before 1990
It's funny they refer to all main Super Mario titles as 'Super Mario Bros.' including the 3D ones.
Super Mario Bros. 16; coming soon!
@arronishere Or 3D Land. Or SM64 DS, Lost Levels, All Stars, SML 2 & 3, or SMRPG, or any of the Paper, M&L games.
@StarDust4Ever I don't have a problem with most of those. SMW2 was technically just a Yoshi game, while SML3 was a Wario game. The RPGs are all spinoffs, and I don't care that they didn't bother mentioning Lost Levels or the remakes.
Only including two main series handheld games and not SML2, NSMB2, or SM3DL is disappointing although somewhat understandable. There's no excuse for leaving out "Super Mario 3D World," though. That one definitely should've made the cut. Despite that major snub, it's still a very nice and informative inforgraphic.
I like how they left out Mario 3D World and only mentioned the good games.
Also interesting that they mentioned Mario Bros. 2 takes place in Mario's dreams, but not that it's actually a re-skin of Doki Doki Panic. ^^
"You found all of the Super Mario Bros. memories!"
Sir, I disagree.
@shani yeah, the whole deal in the end credits of Mario 2 with Mario waking up and realising it was all a dream prooves it's non-cannonicity. But many enemies were introduced in SMB2 that make appearances in future games. Pokeys, Shy Guys, Bobombs, Sniffits, Birdo...
Happy 30th Anniversary, Mario!
@b_willers I remember all to well the confusion when at new year 1988 it turned to 1990, we just went with it.
Lol love how they talk about how many people have watched mario videos on youtube. and they take them all down now....
