Big John Games has announced its latest 3DS title, Smash Bowling 3D, which is expected to be released via the eShop on 8th August for $4.99. The developer notes that the bowling sim expands its lineup of sports games, which currently consists of the Big Bass Arcade series.
Here's what the studio had to say about the upcoming release:
Smash Bowling 3D provides an incredibly accurate interface to apply aim, ball spin, power, and positioning to hone in on your perfect throw. Two control styles are available: Buttons mode to quickly dial in your shot parameters, and Touch mode which uses the stylus to completely customize your bowling aim and control your release.
Big John Games' most recent release, Big Bass Arcade: No Limit, received a reasonable score from us back in June.

They also have a "design a ball, get the game for free" contest according to their facebook page.
Cool
Hmm, I'll wait for some gameplay footage, first.
If it has online multiplayer play I buy it. If they left that out the devs blew it.
There is already two bowling games out, as long as it adds something new that the others don't have (online stuff) then that would be great!
I don't know if I'm the only one, but when I read "Smash B______ ready to strike 3DS", I wet my pants in excitement. Only to be brought back to reality with the word "Bowling".
This looks pretty cool.
Undead_terror, what are the other two bowling games?
Bleh. All I needed to read was, "...From the makers of 'Big Bass Arcade'" to put me off. But hey, I guess it's bowling. I'll take bowling over fishing any day.
Nintendo should make a new IP called "Super Smash Bowl", it would be a hit. XD
@Donjwolf, I believe he's referring to Bowling Bonanza 3D & Undead Bowling (although only one of them is a normal bowling game).
