Feature The Bloodthirsty History Of Monster Hunter, From Sony PlayStation To Nintendo Switch
In the hunt for knowledge? You've come to the right place
Monster Hunter is Capcom’s second-best-selling video game franchise. It’s bigger than Street Fighter, it’s bigger than Devil May Cry, and it’s bigger than Mega Man. However, it could be argued that Monster Hunter has had a rocky road leading up to the monumental success of Monster...
News Monster Hunter is Ten Years Old Today
No sword is too big
Monster Hunter is now officially ten years old, with the original title on PS2 arriving in Japan on 11th March 2004. Its early years were on Sony hardware, with the PS2 and outstanding success on the PSP, before Nintendo swooped to secure exclusive releases in the main series. Monster Hunter Tri on Wii has been followed by...

We recently reported on Monster Hunter Real 2014, a Monster Hunter-themed extravaganza at the Universal Studios theme park in Osaka, Japan. The exhibit, which is open until 11th May, features Monster Hunter themed food and drink, elaborate models of gear from the game and quests that visitors can go on. One of the...
Soapbox A Monster Hunter Obsession, and Why the Franchise Could Take Off in the West
Tom Whitehead argues the case for the divisive, demanding series
I'll put it out there right from the off — I'm no Monster Hunter veteran. Not by a long way, and in fact my first experience with the series was Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii. I played the campaign to completion and enjoyed it a lot, but it wasn't until Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate that...
Video Capcom Celebrates 10 Years of Monster Hunter
Epic
This is a big year for the Monster Hunter franchise, and Capcom has every reason to be happy with its current status. Monster Hunter 4 cruised past the company's sales targets for Japan, and in the process won't have done any harm to Nintendo's chances in retaining exclusivity of the franchise. In the Japanese market MH counts for a lot, so its...

An optional extra for those with just the 3DS game
While today's 3DS Nintendo Direct from Japan showed a variety of interesting upcoming games, there was a surprise announcement of a new peripheral that will allow those with Monster Hunter 3 G on 3DS in Japan to take their local multiplayer games online for the first time. All you need is a Wii U...
News Monster Hunter 3 G Traps an eShop Discount in Japan
Re-packaged "Best Price" offer also on the way
Fans of the Monster Hunter series that live outside of Japan have been a little hard done by, casting envious glances to gamers in Japan who are looking forward to Monster Hunter 4, while the rest of us wait for the expanded version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. While Ultimate is also coming to Wii U...
News Resident Evil Director Wants To Make a Monster Hunter Flick
Run to the hills
Despite the sheer volume of duds and the critical mauling they invariably receive, Hollywood still seems obsessed with tapping into video game culture and creating movies based on well-known gaming franchises. The failures of Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter, Dead or Alive and Alone in the Dark have done nothing is dampen the...
News Monster Hunter News Teased by Capcom Community Representative
North American hunters on alert
The release of Monster Hunter 3 G and the confirmation of Monster Hunter 4 have been contributing factors to making 3DS the must-have handheld console in Japan. When 3 G was released it contributed to week-one 3DS console sales that surpassed the actual launch of the system, and the game itself passed 1.5 million...
News Doubts About Monster Hunter 3 G Worldwide Release
We're still hoping
Monster Hunter 3 G has been, as expected, a success since its Japanese release in late 2011, surpassing 1.5 million sales. We've been waiting for news of a confirmed worldwide release, but have only had rumours and speculation in place of formal announcements. Some on the ground in Japan seem to doubt that the release will come at...

AWESOME! Can't wait! Day one buy for me!
I want this so bad.
This could be my first game in the series...
Can't wait to get owned by a pleesioth....in THREE DEE! Is that joke old by now?
Just wondering if you can import character from mh3..
More Monster Hunter for me
Really want this and MH4 to come to the west, would be most triumphant!
as I never tried Monster Hunter Tri (Bad Me!) I really want this in the west, even if it doesn't have online!
Now all we need is a western release, and we are good to go! Well, beside MH4, but if we get that we will be extremely lucky. (Has anyone heard of MH2 Dos? Yeah, neither did the localizers.)
Can you import characters from Monster Hunter 3 on the wii??? And it's annoying that the game doesn't have online. That might be a deal breaker right there.
Sad to say, but this game NEEDS Online Co-Op if it comes State-side or it'll flop. Heck, even in the UK. The Japanese are fine without net play, but further west people are much more spread out and don't always have people to play with. Hope they make our dreams come true!
Whats the difference between MH4 and MH 3G?
Imagine playing this on the 3DS XL's glorious screens!? ME WANT!
Now if only they'd just release this and P3rd in the US...
Every time a new 3DS game releases, it makes me want the 3DS more and more. I mean I didn't the 3DS, I 75% sure that I want one.
Sry, I meant: " I mean, I didn't hate the 3DS."
Finally a big,awesome,fun,long,3DS RPG.
isnt this the same as mh3u
