I think the digital deluxe promotion should be permanent and on all systems. December 2014 seems like an arbitrary deadline. Nintendo offers little incentive to buy digital like the competition. It wouldn't really seem to harm relations with retailers as games would be the same price and the discount is post purchase. It's not even that deep of a discount and, at least for me, would increase VC sales.
@Sephariel : That makes a lot of sense. I didn't think of that. I do hope, and it may with the linked accounts now, that it includes 3ds eshop purchases.

I keep forgetting about it and then check it every few months (or several months) and find out that I have some free eShop money. Like right now, I just found $5 waiting for me and I'm close to getting another $5.
Why should Nintendo carry it over to 2014. What little I did earn back from the delux promotion is my refund for buying the WiiU before the price drop.
