My review is posted on the Nintendo Love Affair website. The link is posted in my profile! Squarehead Studios has been amazing to work with and I really enjoy their first game.

Has anyone else played it? What did you think of the controls?

Actually, there's a mobile version of this, just with a different name.

Not at all, Star Ghost is an evolution of the mobile game. There is no left stick on a mobile, for example.

I think the game is really brilliant! It's polished, it's addictive and fun, and the game design is solid. I especially like the left stick action, since the player has to choose between either traction and shooting. And the traction feels realistically slow, so the player really needs to plan when to use traction.

I find it to be a good strategy to save 50-100 credits at the easier levels at the start for more lives, instead of buying upgrades right away.

@jariw: Definitely! Saving is the way to go. Sector 3.1 really calls for some upgrades though... Has anyone figured out how to use the viruses to their advantage?

@Chandlero: It's hard to believe that Star Ghost is his first game. So much talent.

No...? I read something about it on the screen (I think) but didn't bother. I avoid the viruses at any cost. So they can actually be used to my advantage?

If he has been a professional game developer for so many years at such high class game studios, that surely gave him lots of the experience needed to not make many of the beginner mistakes. So it's not entirely fair to compare him with first-time developers.

You are absolutely right. He has a load of experience. But to go from developing a part of a game to an entire one is a transition that takes a lot of skill. Rhys rocked it!@jariw:

@Pahvi: Wow - thanks!

This is certainly a game where practice means everything.

David Wise's soundtrack? I want to this but I don't have money on my eShop account. Damn.

It would be great if David Wise made soundtracks to all future Nintendo games.
