Definitely a feature I want in Zelda VC games!

Such an awesome feature!

Just opened up the settings by accident... looks like for Wii U Virtual Console games we can configure the controls however we want.

EDIT: Oh, and another awesome feature!

@Sjoerd I'm assuming The Cave will be out in the PAL regions tomorrow, when the normal eShop update is meant to happen.

Nope, it's available today; I've already downloaded the demo.

I'm about to get this bad boy as 30p is too cheap to pass up and it will allow me to delete it from my Wii Channel.

Disappointing it's 50z here; hopefully that was an oversight that will be corrected later. I mean these are HD consoles so terms like "PAL" and "NTSC" shouldn't mean anything right? Not like people will be hooking up their Wii Us to composite video ports I hope!

Important to remember that this is the "trial" so I wouldn't make any judgments upon the final look and feel of the Wii U VC (which will officially launch in the summertime) based upon these early releases and remember that even Wii VC games got updated from time to time.

My Wii U eShop is acting up (what's new?) so I haven't gotten this yet.

Rest assured, I'll be downloading. Thanks Ninty for the basically free game!

If it's downloaded on Wii and transferred to Wii U, after paying the 30 cents do we keep both versions or only the one on Wii U?

I'm not really liking the fact Nintendo sold us the 50hz version instead of the 60hz version we got on our 3DS', I'm going to complain or at least reinforce the fact they'll need to update it in the future. Ok 30c is great for a VC game, but I still paid 30c expecting the 60hz version.

Both, but you should just delete the smelly Wii version 3

Really cool how you can use either Wii U gamepad, remote, or even the Pro controller! Though I don't really understand why it plays on both the TV and GamePad. The only other things I can't figure out....
1: I did purchase it, but it never gave any indication of DLing which confused me, then went to the Wii menue, nothing because I didn't see it at 1st in WII U. Ended up resetting and it told me it was in the DL Manager or whatever it's called.
2: From that point I booted up the game, not even sure what I hit unless 1 f my controllers was disconected orjust added while playing, and it gave me a menue similar to 3DS to reset, create restore point, etc, and I couldn't figure out how to bring that menue back up after.
So yeah, if anyone can figure either of these out would be helpful because I don't wanna be confused and not know why something doesn'tappear immediately DL, and to not know how to accesssomething that should be simple. Also, anyone thats aid this isn't for 3DS, I have it and it was selectable from the Ambassador Program. It's probably just not on 3DS eShop yet.

1) Yeah, select your "download manager" after pressing the home button to check the status of all your updates.

2) Gamepad ZR button brings up the menu. How they came up with that I am not so sure but I found it by accident when I bumped that button and it came up. My guess why that button is because Nintendo figures that button will never be used for a VC game?

I wish there was an option to play using the GamePad on the TV with the touch screen off.

im really loving this game a lot. already had it on my 3DS as part of the free Ambassador games and never gave it any playtime but now i'm hooked! Perfect fit for my gaming needs... simple to play, hard to master. 30 cents wont even buy an icecream nowadays but it will get you this little gem.

Bingo! The [ZR] and [ZL] buttons did not exist prior to the Wii Classic Controller (and CC Pro)

Either that or just tapping the touch screen.
It's a good thing you have the option to change the controller layout, because when it comes to games that use the shoulder buttons, I'd probably much prefer using the ZR button instead of the R button most of the time, like how in most Wii U games so far the ZL/ZR buttons seem to be used as the main shoulder buttons as far as I've noticed.

I just got it and I'm loving it Last time I played this game was on the original Animal Crossing.

Open the menu. Then push the right stick in until it clicks, and hold it. Then exit the menu with the stick still held in. It should "turn off" the touchscreen. Although it doesn't really turn it off. It instead dims it, and displays a message saying to tap the screen to restore the display.

I don't remember exactly where I read this. I think that it may be in the manual, but I am not sure.

They need to provide some kind of easy control for that screen turn off. I really don't like leaving it on when I go to bed with a download happening - even thought I have the auto power-off option selected. That's a couple of hours of screen burn-in I just don't need!

Home menu. Controller settings. You can turn off the screen from there in any application.
