This just got through the Australian classification board along with Mr Driller 2. The fact that games like that are being rated basically takes away all of my reservations I might have had.

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"
“A thing may be too sad to be believed or too wicked to be believed or too good to be believed; but it cannot be too absurd to be believed in this planet of frogs and elephants, of crocodiles and cuttle-fish.”
― G.K. Chesterton
I mean the only reason we had inferior ports of Mario Bros. and the Donkey Kong games in the first place was because of hardware limitations that no longer exist, so why even bother with the NES versions
Mario Bros. got two NES ports. The improved version was a PAL-exclusive release (1993 "Classic Serie" edition), yet Nintendo still keeps releasing the older international version (1983).
There's only a couple of examples of arcade ports I think have some legit nostalgia due to their quirky differences I can think of: Asteroids and Space Invaders on the Atari 2600 - both playable and different in appearance/sound due to system limitations. I can't see why anyone would feel any nostalgia for a reasonably spot-on port of Donkey Kong that's missing a stage. Just bizarre!
That I would potentially buy, but I'd really just rather have the real deal. NES Mario Bros. is different enough from the arcade that I'd rather play it on MAME instead. What's up with Nintendo and their arcade games? Why do they pretend that they don't exist?
Along with the Nintendo Classics, I would like to see Doom, Speedball 2, Desert Strike (no chance, but this is a wish list), Sega Arcade Classics (this had Outrun), and Final Fight (this was better than the SNES Version, as it had the missing Industrial Level and Guy, with unlockable SF2 Alpha Cody/Guy)
Agreed, a localized Mother 3 on Wii U would be great. They made such a big deal out of Earthbound on Wii U last year (and rightly so), and I doubt ANYONE expected that announcement, so who knows? I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to do something else with the Mother series. But seeing as how little funding and attention Nintendo has given the Wii U VC as of late, things sorta look bleak.
Games I'm playing: Hotline Miami 2, Smash Wii U, GTA V, Dying Light, Resogun
I really want Sigma Star Saga to come to VC. I really enjoyed that game and felt it needed to be on a bigger screen. Plus I hope they will fix it so you can actually beat it lol
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Video of GBA games running on the VC are up. Here's one of them:
Two things.
1. The emulation looks decent, the colours are a bit washed out but I'm not going to read into that. Because youtube.
2. Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World..... why?
