i dunno, a 'Netflix Channel' might be nice for current subscribers or people who were already halfway interested, but i don't use Netflix normally, and it wouldn't get me into the service if it were available on my Wii.

PlayOn can technically run NetFlix on the Wii with little complication, but I haven't tried it out for that function yet myself. I have tried Hulu, AdultSwim, and several other streaming options on it, which mostly worked very well -- high-quality content on Hulu had a lowered framerate, however, and there were other minor issues. It's not free, but you can download a demo that works for 2 weeks, and see if it seems to go well with NetFlix for you.

It can be complicated if your home network / router doesn't allow the local connections properly, but I didn't have any trouble setting it up. You might also have downloaded it during the brief period after Nintendo's last Internet Channel update, which briefly broke PlayOn until they released an updated, compatible version. It has some drawbacks, but it achieves a great deal considering the limitations of the Wii browser. Certainly a dedicated channel would be preferable, but that still seems unlikely at the moment.

A dedicated, properly architected NetFlix channel on the Wii would be a HUGE coup for NetFlix, and potentially for Nintendo. There is enough margin in content delivery to keep them both happy. I'd get it in a heartbeat.
yeah, seems like a no-brainer. at least the internet channel got updated after like two years. it can't keep up with youtube though, so wishing for netflix seems like a waste of hearts.
I have netflix on my 360 and I have the disk for the PS3 for when I get one. I love it on my 360. In fact I am using it right now. It would be nice on the wii, But the 360 is capable of HD and if your connection is good enough (mine is) you can stream movies in HD. Im not saying I am against it coming to nintendo consoles, just that I would not use it. Now if they made a netflix streaming service for DSi, well, I would be ALL over that.
Wii : 5234 3442 0233 5325 3DS: 2664-2106-1671 I have A LOT of games, if you want to play something, just email me jangonov...
Seems like no one here knows the wii channel japan got that has something similar to Netflix, Wii no ma, is the name. Might get a worldwide release I read in a Q/A. You can either Rent (and possible buy) Anime episodes like Pokemon and Kirby for Nintendo 50pts-100pts. Theres also movies you can watch.
Heres proof, on youtube search, Wii no ma threater update.
