Again this topic? BTW "underrated hit" is a contradiction.

no, it means games that sold well but had bad reviews

So ends a saga older than time itself.

If you believe so, go ahead and name a couple.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - amazing amazing game. sold great. has 71 on metacritic.

Modern Warfare reflex, great game, selling great - has 76 on metacritic.

So ends a saga older than time itself.

ok, guys, i think at this point he knows "underrated hits" was not the best choice of phraseology. just leave him alone and deal with the topic at hand. you know what he means.

anyway, i'll have to agree with almost everything that's been listed... except for the number of titles that actually did sell well and review well. but i strongly second Opoona, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Okami, and Zack and Wiki.

but extreme examples would be if someone liked Toy Story Mania! or Just Dance. Red on metacritic ("shovelware") and selling great. Haven't played them. That Princess Disney game too. also holds for Wii play.

Toy Story Mania is the funnest ride at DisneyWorld. There is a reason why the waiting time was up to 140 minutes.

I actually gave up on the line.. is it similar to Men in Black (Universal) and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters in Disneyland? I did those.

@mnementh Yes but much better.

Id like you all to see Game Spy's meaning of what an underrated game is.
Poor Sales: All the ingredients were there: great gameplay, critical attention, even good marketing. But for some reason gamers themselves didn't open their wallets to take it home.

Outta Nowhere: These are the "sleepers," great games from unexpected places. No hype, no big names -- just fun from out of left field that people overlooked.

Originality: Sometimes great games are too experimental for their own good. These ones tinkered with new gameplay so much that people may have been afraid to try it.

Overlooked: Finally, a category that includes a little of most of the above. We can't say why, but either critics or gamers just plain missed this otherwise awesome title.

That definition seems flawed. The first is "poor sales" but the others too seem to fit that category (only mentioning critics for the 4th category). Then he says Outta Nowhere are overlooked and then it has another category for overlooked.

You can have an underrated game that sold over 1 million. And there not numbered, so why does it matter which comes first?

Both games are mediocre and have scores they deserve, and they didn't sell that mutch.

Uh, actually Reflex is top-notch awesome! Check the review this site provided. Unleashed? Meh it really was mediocre and the point where you said they didn't sell, well I'm not sure about Unleashed, but Reflex sold a lot more than you may think.

That review doesn't proof anything. Compare Reflex to New Super Mario Bros in sales and scores eventhough it is underrated, and you know the difference between a medicore and a great game. Or compare Reflex to it's bigger brother on the xbox. It's a mediocre game on the wii and i still sells ok because it has no competition in the genre.

You can't really compare NSMBW to Reflex. It's impossible with them being completely different genres. Comparing it to the XBOX 360 version it isn't really fair either due to the fact that the 360 has stronger hardware than the Wii so it can produce a better game. And yes, the review does prove something my furry little friend, it proves that Reflex is a good game and deserves to be played.

So the autcome of that review to you is a fact??? not an opinion??? you can compare games, Reflex looks bad it's big brother on 360 looks good. That's a comparison. You can compare nsmb to Reflex. One is a forgetable port to make a quik buck the other is a monumental game, which sold millions of copies. That's a comparison

I never really look at The Force Unleashed as an underrated hit for the Wii because the game went to every damn platform But game play wise its is pretty fun, until your arms start hurting from all of the constant waggling.

Master Barny you completely avoided my point in every way possible. You can't compare a Side-scroller to a FPS. You just can't in anyway. Reflex was not just a quick buck. It was a port of a great game, trimmed down for the Wii. Yeah I was joking a little there dude. I know your not furry (or atleast I hope your not).

EDIT: Oh yes the the outcome of the review is a fact because it tells you what to come to expect from the reviewer's point of view and tells/shows you what to look forward to and Reflex getting a 9/10 looks to me like a fairly good outcome there smarts.
