Hello, I'm thinking of selling my copy of SSBB to get Mario Kart Wii but I'm really confused. o.O
First of all, are there two different Mario Kart Wii games? I looked it on eBay and there was Mario Kart Wii (2008?) and Super Mario Kart Wii (2009). Is there a difference? Is it a different game?
Also, I played the game at a freinds house once and he had wheels that you out the remote into to play the game. I hope I'm making sense. Well, do I HAVE to but the wheels or can I play with just the Wii remote? What about a GameCube controller?
My last question is online gameplay. Do people still play the game even though it's over a year old? Can you chat with other people somehow? Also, is the online gameplay even enjoyable?
Only one MKW game. There is Super Mario Kart, which was released on the SNES available on the VC, as well as the 64 release.
You don't have to play with the wheel. You can play with the wheel case, without the wheel case, with the wiimote and nunchuck, classic controller or Gamecube controller.
Yes. You can chat with friends in rooms but its pretty limited. And Yes.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Mario Kart Wii is playable with 4 controllers: Wii wheel, Wiimote and Nunchuck, Classic Controller, and the good ol' GameCube controller. And yes, people go online all the time. My mom races online at least once every week and it never, and I mean NEVER gets old. There is a way to chat, but you have to enter the other persons code, and they have to enter yours. The chatting is pretty lame though. You can click on pre-made messages. Example: Person 1: Hello Person 2: Hello Person 1: What do you want to do? Person 2: Regional Race!
You get the point. Hope this helped.
I'm a SSMB fan, but I would say that MKW is way better.
Also, the game always comes with a Wii Wheel and besides, you can play the game with just a Wiimote; the wheel is just a shell. And lol @Funky+Gamer's example of chatting. It really is that bad.
I'm a MKW fan, but I would say that SSBB is way better.
MKWii is a great game, but be aware that they ruined Battle Mode in this one.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

F-Zero GX is only brutal hard on story mode, but normal Gran Prix is just right.
As far as it goes, don't ditch Brawl for Mario Kart Wii as it's not worth the trade...hell it's not worth the $50 I wasted on it (or brawl for that matter due to control lag compared to Melee.) MKW is terrible compared to any of the past titles, the forced wonky bikes at 100cc, the boring as crap tracks, and rubber banding AI...it's a nice trifecta of stank. Not that it's a hugely awesome game, but even the GC title kicks it's ass and you'd be better off getting that for 1/2 the price. MKWii and Brawl successfully made me lose faith in blindly purchasing of 1st party made games for Nintendo in the first time in 25 years on a Nintendo console (while Starfox on DS did it on the portable end.)

Personally I love Mario Kart wii and still play it and I got it soon after it came out in 2007 i think, i still can easily find a race online quickly and I only play with the wheel, but i know there are other ways to play as well. As for SSBB i got bored with pretty quick and ended up returning it.
Feel free to add me and contact me
Darn you Nintendo, my backlog is already out of control and you are just making it worse with these new game announcements!!!!
