@theblackdragon Hmmm, I didn't think about the WiFi vs Local multiplayer aspects.
@irken004 Graphically, no, it's not the most attractive but it does have the best music and IMHO it's the best AS (note: I haven't played Trax yet) game on the WiiWare service. Very challenging and fun puzzler! I recommend anyone to pick it up.
Now playing: (Wii - DJ Hero 2) (WiiWare / VC - -- / --) (Game Cube - Second Sight) (DS / GBA - Eragon / --) (Xbox360 - Burnout Paradise) (XBLA / XBIG - Puzzle Quest / --) Wii FC - 2346 1195 9083 7926 XBOX360 Gamertag - BrazCanMan
Rotohex's MP was pretty cool but I only played it a few times.
I don't think Light Trax would really work with splitscreen multiplayer, the vector graphics along with the frequent shifts in perspective would be disorienting while trying to focus on one half of the screen only. Online MP would've been nice though.
I haven't played it, so I can't comment on what the game is like, only that I had thought they were designing it as a multiplayer racing game, and that was why I was interested.
Rotohex and Decode both had multiplayer. The series has predominantly been single-player so far, yes, but that doesn't change the fact that I prefer to play with others.
What's with the Rotohex hate? It's the second best Art Style game overall (just after Kubos).
And not attractive? It's a stunning looking game in the minimalist style. The glow of the triangles is hypnotic when matched with the music. It's a game you just let go of yourself to enjoy, and it comes up trumps. I love Rotohex, and I'm looking forward to Lighttrax because, visually at least, it seems to be in a similar vein.
I'm really digging this one so far. It's got some really interesting ideas and feels more like a puzzle game than a racer to me. Currently undecided if it's "the best" Art Style WiiWare game (I do love me some Cubello) but it's pretty damn close.
The music is so good too. It's going in the rotation with the Shop Channel and My Aquarium as background music for writing. Makes a neat unintended visualizer too.
Rotohex is absolutely amazing if you're really good at it... it's almost like an out-of-body experience, your subconscious does all the work forming hexes as fast as your fingers can keep up while your conscious does nothing but stare at the screen in amazement
Rotohex is a slow grower. Once you get the hang of it it's amazing. First I thought ORBIENT was the best Art Style game. Then I got into CUBELLO and loved it even more. Now that I learnt how ROTOHEX is being played I think Rotohex is the best of them all.
My score is a liberal "all Art Style games are unique and addicting once you get the hang of it 9/10".
Can't want for light trax and ROTOZOA being released in EU.
Bought it. Like it way much. Funny to me how topics switch too Knucks! Anyway, this game takes me back to the days of "TRON: Light Cycles"... Wi-Fi would've been a plus, but still good without it!

This. This x 10000000000000
The best Art Style games are the ones that demand that you lose yourself in the game, to the point where you're not even seeing the visuals any more, you're feeling the gameplay.
I swear to God, there have been numerous times when playing Rotohex where I don't even see the triangles, much less hexes. My body plays the game, I'm just seeing swirls of colour. It's hard to explain, but Rotohex is one of the few games (Kubos is another one I can immediately think of) where I just don't "see" anything while playing.
The reason Light Trax is a day 1 download when it comes to Australia for me is, it seems to be a similar experience.
That said, I love all Art Style games, with the exception of Pictobits (not conceptual enough for this series, it's a "mere" puzzle game), and Digidrive, which is not even a Skip game (Q-games developed that one, a rare misfire from them, imo), so doesn't "feel" like an Art Style game.
