@Gamesake, you know, maybe nintendo doesn't want to give zelda and link a voice, maybe they are afraid that people start making critics on the new voic of zelda and link like they did with the voice of samus. And IGN will probably post a stupid article titled "KIlling Link" and well, that probably the main reason some companys just don't want to give voice acting to a the game. For me the voice acting in Metroid: Other M was not bad, and some games like F.E.A.R 2 and Sin & Punishment 2, have very good voice acting, but you know. Nintnedo really don't want to give Zelda and LInk a voice yet. A Voice Acting is nice, but I normaly preffer to read the subtitles, so I really don't care if a game has or not voice acting.
@hulklol123456789 It's like Keiji Inafune discussed in an interview I read earlier, when developers are afraid of criticism they're pigeonholed into making the same games forever. Voice acting is an aesthetic evolution that won't destroy anything in The Legend of Zelda, and if you like subtitles most every game has the option for hearing impaired. So I wouldn't worry about any "Killing Link" articles unless he starts wearing a dress and Zelda sits on his head.
If a company can afford voice actors they should have voice acting. Today when you encounter a text based game all it means is budget title.
Why? It's better to have a text based game than a poorly done voice job. Zelda is text based, so that means it is a budget title?
Why would anyone go out of their way to hire bad voice actors? The Wii doesn't have the limits of the GameCube and Nintendo can afford to give Zelda all the bells and whistles. Those townspeople should be voiced in Skyward Sword. If not, it won't hurt the game but it will make the presentation feel cheap.
Voice actors are expensive. Good voice actors especially so. And then you have to factor in different languages, and situation-based scripts. If you wanna add a notable amount of millions to your development budget on something that will at best divide the fans, then more power to ya, but expect to see a sizeable gap in your profit margins.

You're right. I just figured it was dimps, because they did much of the work on the Wii's daytime Sonic Unleashed levels, which were considered the better than the PS360 versions. Also, I got the idea since I heard the game was good. Nice to hear Sonic team is getting a return to form though.
The PS360 versions of the day stages are considered better by most fans.

Also, text based games make yourself give characters voice, and make the game different to everyone, as everyone has their own expectations to how a character speaks (usually based on the grunts).
If you force them to listen to a voice that is not used to them, it can ruin the experience, because all Zelda games are the same basically, that voice you had for a character will be constant though all the games, some may like it, some may not.

You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I'd take a slightly worse framerate and slowdown over "hold forward to win" day stages and depth-free night stages (the Wii version didn't even have combos) any day.
Wow, just read the IGN review. That's a higher score than Sonic 4 got and they explicitly stated in the review that they "saved the best for last (in terms of Sonic games released this year). The only thing they sounded dissapointed in at all was the at times frustrating level design, but that's it. While Sonic 4 was good because it harkened back to the originals, this sounds even better because it finally makes the game good in a modern form.
So does this mean Sonic is officially back?

Man that's good news. IGN's usually the site that bashes Sonic the hardest. I'll be buying it sometime down the road, but GoldenEye and DKCR come first. :3
YES! It must be great if IGN gives it an 8.5! After hitting peaks with "Sonic 3 & Knuckles" and "Sonic Adventure 2," Sonic headed downhill until he hit rock bottom with "Sonic '06." Since then, he's been slowly but surely improving, and now he's back on top!
However, it's a shame that Sega still hasn't figured out how to do a good Sonic multiplayer mode since Sonic Adventure 2: Battle.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

A bunch of Songs from the game have hit Youtube now, but here's the title screen music for ya. [youtube:iBP2zgTXURM] sounds to me like somebody was a big fan of Super Mario Galaxy's music.

They must mean 16 years, or they somehow forgot about the masterpiece known as "Sonic 3 & Knuckles."

They're the only ones. Everyone else is giving at least an 8 on Gamerankings. GT will probably end up being an outlier (perhaps a few others will join them though....).
