Nice to hear that hear that Sonic isn't continually spinning his wheels on the decision whether or not to be good or fade into obscurity.

I read Nintendo Power's review (a surprising 9/10) and it has me very excited for the game. I won't be able to buy it any time soon(it's an incredibly busy month for amazing games) but I'll be sure to rent it and probably pick it up later down the line.

ONM reckons it "won't top the classics or Sonic Adventure," yet on a graphical scale of Sonic's console outings, they place it considerably higher than Adventure. And they put Adventure lower than Unleashed, go figure. Oh well, this is ONM, 'constant contradictions' is practically their motto. Still, I'm definitely buying this when it comes out, especially based on other reviews.
For reference, they gave Sonic Colours DS 85%, and Sonic 4 got 88%.

They put Cube's Sonic Adventures DX lower in that scale thingy actually. They also rated the daytime levels of Unleashed very highly - hence its relatively high position (though the disastrous Werehog stages should've lowered it down) Overall though, they rate Colours better than any non-handhled console release since Adventure.
You're right. I just figured it was dimps, because they did much of the work on the Wii's daytime Sonic Unleashed levels, which were considered the better than the PS360 versions. Also, I got the idea since I heard the game was good. Nice to hear Sonic team is getting a return to form though.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
Sonic colours DS is now available as a demo on the nintendo channel in Europe, very impressed with it, only 1 level but it was gigantic plays like the rush series.
They no longer have to pretend to like playing bad Sonic games
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Because this is the only Colors thread I could find, heres a cutscene from the game: [youtube:uX37DK_av8k] Personally, I love it, I do think most of you will not.

Wow, Sonic's voice is deeper than I expected. Not bad though, actually. The writing is cheesy, but not as bad as Chip from Unleashed. Shudders at the offer of chocolate...
@irken Sonic has always been cheesy though. I think the level of cheese is about on par with Sonic SatAM. Not too much lame cheese but enough silliness to keep it entertaining for kids. It's a good thing.
Sonic's new voice actor is better than the old one too.

I just downloaded the demo on the Nintendo Channel and I was really impressed by it. I actually enjoyed it a lot more than the Sonic 4 demo that I tried on my Xbox 360. I think that I will definitely be picking up Sonic Colors on the DS now. I might get the Wii version too.
no. they're just desperately trying to either catch lightning in a bottle for a 3rd time like the story in the Adventure games or fell for the "all games should have voice acting, no exceptions" stupidity like half of the Zelda fanbase. It just depends on who you ask.
At least 3rd time's the charm for an actually talented voice actor.
If a company can afford voice actors they should have voice acting. Today when you encounter a text based game all it means is budget title.
Why? It's better to have a text based game than a poorly done voice job. Zelda is text based, so that means it is a budget title?
Why would anyone go out of their way to hire bad voice actors? The Wii doesn't have the limits of the GameCube and Nintendo can afford to give Zelda all the bells and whistles. Those townspeople should be voiced in Skyward Sword. If not, it won't hurt the game but it will make the presentation feel cheap.
