I can understand how people might think the KEY was "boring" because you couldn't die, but not every game has to be hard. Too often these days games are criticized for being easy, in some cases that's fair, but there is a place for those calm, relaxing games that don't stress you out. Honestly, with the yarn style of the game I wouldn't want it to be hard because it really is made to just be fun.
Hit the nail right on the head. It really annoys me when people rail a game just because it isn't "hard enough". But of course like any other category an easy game CAN be bad, but so can your average difficult game. So really such critical judgement is unfair. Now this isn't to say I don't like challenge in my gaming, but sometimes it's nice to just relax and have a non-intimidating session now and then. Not every game one plays has to be a life and death struggle after all.

Yes, a challenge is always welcome, but not every game I play needs to be difficult. Some can just be a joy to play. That's exactly what I got out of Kirby's Epic Yarn. It was enjoyable because it was just so charming and fun, not because it had the most frantic gameplay or tight platforming.

This game made me want to take another look at Kirby's Epic Yarn after quitting soon after getting it. KEY is a lot more fun than I remember.

KEY was in no way a bad game, and I welcomed it's easiness. If I recall correctly, getting 100% was a bit of a challenge for me and my friend, as many late stages and bosses required the player to lose almost no gems to ace, so every time one of us got hit, we ran like crazy trying to grab every gem while he shouted, "GET THE CRAP! GET THE CRAP! GET THE CRAP!" Sure, it wasn't nearly as difficult as 100%ing, say, Wario Land: Shake It, but it still gave us a good amount of fun.
To add to the trend of yarn games... Yarn Fire Emblem?
And more on topic... I'm sure this game will have its charm, regardless of difficulty. Yoshi needs more games. Besides, this feels more natural for Yoshi than for Kirby.

What you gotta remember is who this yarn game is marketted to. It's not going to be hardcore gamers that relish the challenge, it's more likely aimed at the younger audience who will need that help to complete the game. On this point you can't expect it to be too challenging. Even if they have a challenge mode, it's likely to be seperate from the mainstory like the challenge modes in NSMBU. I certainly hope not but that's the likely scenario.

I went back to playing Epic Yarn, and that game is enjoyable. In some cases in can be difficult to achieve Gold, but people need to look at that game the same way people look at Journey.
Not really interested. I have Kirbys epic yarn, beat it, and it pretty fun, but I dont think I would replay it. I found it to be to easy. Hopefully this will be a little harder?

No harm in hoping, but both Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story were very easy as well. So why should Yoshi's Epic Yarn be any different?
trying to turn almost any modern FPS into an adorable yarn game sounds like a fantastic idea. The fact that the internet has not made a video showcasing this idea is tragic.
A single game/theme seems a waste though. Surely what Call of Duty fans have secretly desired is "Call of Duty Land" - a collection of individual missions from the groundbreaking series of best-selling and critically praised war shooters, all stylised to appear like adorable handicrafts. I think the candy land-themed Russian airport massacre will be a fan favourite myself. The taking of the Reichstag with everything having a plasticine appearance will be equally loved.
