Alright people, break out your hats because we are in for a major discussion. After the showing of the previous trailer, people over the internet has been making comparisons with the E3 2013 footage.
The visuals have been clearly downgraded. Take a look.
In my opinion, although these downgrades are noticeable, but not entirely outrageous. It seems like Monolithsoft had set a high visual target when they made the pre-render E3 2013 trailer and realized they can't achieve it OR have to prioritize the power to other aspects of the game (better AI, smoother gameplay etc). I personally still think the game looks fantastic, albeit the visual downgrade.
Although the hangar footage suffered a slight downgrade, but the actual world has been IMPROVED
@Jazzer94 Some structures are missing too. Not to mention the ground texture looks better in the E3 2013 footage. HOWEVER, this is just the hangar footage. I've read somewhere that the actual open world gameplay visuals are actually improved. I forgot where I saw those images.

@Sanya This game is still going to look gorgeous though. This is definitely not Watch_Dogs and Dark Souls 2 type of downgrade lol.

Also, look at the night time illumination @_@
@Mahemoth Running on Wii U hardware with little to no gameplay aspect? The Wii U's power was entirely used to render those graphics. As time moved on the Devs probably allocate the resources to other aspects of the game.
I dunno how it was on the Wii, but I hope we'll be able to see the monsters from a distance here. The 3DS version (guessing because limitations even on the New system) I was just exploring early on in the game and all of the sudden this giant ape thing shows up out of nowhere. lol (I died)

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@Hy8ogen Ground textures maybe would need more footage to be certain, the little changes like mechs not being there now aren't necessarily downgrades the lighting however is.
Draw distance on Wii is pretty stellar, honestly. You can see those huge monsters from a mile away. It's really cool to see what looks like a small or average-sized enemy, and then spend 3 minutes running closer to it until it takes up the whole screen.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
I really hope the online multiplayer mode includes voice chat. Please Monolith we really need voice chat to coordinate all those complex tactics/dolls functions.

This game is gonna suck. It’s so not gonna have 1080p and 60fps and now the lighting isn’t true hdr with ray casting enabled? Pffff, talk about a crappy game.
I guess I just have to let go of my anticipation of enjoying those creatures with their testicles hanging down their necks.

I beg to differ, lol. I'd rather close the distance faster or just plain have less distance. Easier to render that way to boot.
Anyway, X reminds me of how Bloodborne looks. There's a lot of detail in the environments, twisting, intricate scenery. It's much more than even was in Xenoblade and Dark Souls.
