I am currently living in Britain with a PAL WiiU but will soon be relocating to Chile. Will the console work fine with retail releases?? Also I am unable to set up any of the online side of things here in the UK as my bank account is based in Chile will Istill be able to set up acounts for the eshop etc when I am in Chile with the PAL WiiU?? I have spent a fortune on games etc and don't want to have to spend more rebuying them all for a different region console. I know the power supplies will need to be changed but is that all that is needed??
Chile is an NTSC country so retail releases won't work on a PAL Wii U. I'm not sure but I think you can only choose other PAL countries when setting up eShop on a PAL Wii U.
I had a feeling it would be the case. Would it still be possible to access the European eshop set up a NNID etc with a Chilean bank account while in Chile??

I can confirm that you can only access the region you set your NNID to's eShop.
Thanks for the help fellas one last question. Would it be possible to set up a PAL NNID on a PAL WiiU while actually in NTSC Chile using a Chilean bank account?? And would using pre paid cards help make the whole thing easier??
I just wanted to add a note about using a credit card with eShop. After a wee bit of research it appears there is no uniformity to this: Japanese eShop will apparently take a credit card number from anywhere (this was also true of the Wii Shop; only restriction being the card needed to be from a country where the Wii was sold locally), but in North America that's apparently not the case. Not sure what the story is in PAL territories, so Hy8ogen is right: get some eShop cards before you move, but I'd also try using your card domestically - eShop cards from outside PAL territories aren't going to work, however.
Something I'm wondering though: why do we keep referring to "PAL Territories?" I mean the system is HD so presumably the old methods of colour reproduction/resolution are no longer in play?
