What if the Wii U had (as well as built-in memory) an option to store some of your data in a cloud-based service provided by Nintendo? Then you could access your game saves on a friends console and continue right were you left off, and you could put ANY game data in the cloud, that way you could back up all your game saves (Some game data you can't save to the SD card on the Wii) and you could set it up to be automatically updated, so you don't have to keep copying it into the cloud? As well as just game saves you could put in whole games and play them directly from the cloud that way if you run out of internal memory you can just put it into the cloud VS buying more SD cards.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
To me, I don't necessarily see the point of the Wii U having cloud-based saves. I highly doubt that many people would see the need for them and unless Nintendo ties the ability to a Club Nintendo account, it would just add another account I have to manage.

The PS3 comes with a big 160 GB hard drive, yet the cloud service is only 150 MB. Pathetic.
I think Xbox 360 is going to have cloud saving too, but how much space will they let us use?
512mb of data.
but lol at nintendo somehow becoming a leader in online.
512 MB? Well, it's better than what Sony offers on their cloud service, but that's the same amount as the Wii. And people complained about the Wii not having enough storage space...
@LordTendoboy Well the other problem was the Wii couldn't boot straight from an SD card. It seems like the 3DS can though so they might be going for an SD storage solution. I think it was mentioned the system could support external hard drives. This really shouldn't be a huge problem.

@TheSolarKnight Agreed. If external hard drives are supported (and the e3 wii u fact sheet said it would) then I really don't see the need for this. In my opinion I just prefer having all my own data and not depending on my internet. ( as it sucks)

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
