I want back the brain cells I have lost from reading this thread. Pointless subjective ranting. Let people enjoy what they like.
This but to an extent as long as the game is rated accurately then anyone of that age or above should be able to buy it Except for games that are porn/rape just don't feel they really have a need to exist.
So should porn not exist in video form? Or adults can watch it, they just can't take part in an interactive process?
Porn shouldn't exist period. It serves no good purpose.
Edit: I am not banning anything from anyone, though. If people like porn, don't let me stop you from watching it. Again, I'm not a judge. I'm just making a statement about my opinion. Again though, please be aware I am not judging anyone. You like something, fine. You don't. That's fine, too. I am not a judge.

dude I'm 31 and I strongly agree with the OP - maybe you're the one too young to see why his point is so valid and so mature.

I'll refer back to my favourite movie of all time to make a point. Blade Runner. The scenes where Roy Batty puts a nail through his hand, poke's Tyrell's eyes out and breaks Deckard's fingers are as important to the movie as his Tears in the Rain monologue. They just are. Largely because they are violent. They have meaning beyond the gore that wouldn't have been achieved without it. So if someone came along and said it was a horrible movie because of those things I'd be appalled.
Yes, it is true that violence, sex and gore can be used for a cheap distraction. In the same way that bloom, brown, handholding and quicktime events can. Or cheezy dialogue and worn out clichés. I personally cringe more when I hear some of the lines in How To Train Your Dragon than I do when watching the Bear Jew in Inglorious Basterds bash a Nazi's skull in with a baseball bat. Because in the end this is all about pulling you into the story.
I'm more offended by art that treats me like an idiot than art that "offends".

omg this might be favorite thread of all time : P
+1 to sky's response lol
On a serious note OP, your view of the world is going to be so drastically different in the next several years. I know it doesn't seem like it now, but your mentality at 13 is going to be incredibly different than when you reach adulthood.

I bought Blade Runner on Bluray, sight unseen, because it was one of the few "important" films I somehow missed.
I've tried to watch it twice, but have given up each time around the part where that dude finds Daryl Hannah by the garbage bags and invites her into his home. It just so slow, and I can't get into it at all. I will try watching it again next week, so I don't feel guilty about wasting $7.99 on it.
I too should give Blade Runner a watch, especially since my friend kept on bugging me to. He even kept on mimicking that one racially insensitive character that got me interested.
