Buy it or not? IDK is this a trick question? What else do you do?

It depends. If it's backwards compatible with the Wii U, I'll probably pick it up around launch. If by some chance it's backwards compatible with both the Wii U AND the Wii, I'll be pre-ordering one. If it's not backwards compatible with either of them, I'll probably wait a year or so after launch for the library to build and price to drop a bit.

Whatever it is, hopefully it will be forwards compatible with third party releases

Cheer and scream that this generation of horribleness is over.

How is this generation horrible compared to other generations?

Stagnation from every major console developer. That's how.

Well seeing how Nintendo has basically been left alone to support the Wii U I understand why games may not be release as often on Wii U. I cannot speak for the other consoles as I don't own them or follow their news often. I don't think this generation has been horrible. I already own more games than I can play and there are more games on the way.

I tend to be very conservative with my game purchases. I won't pay 20 dollars or more unless its a game I really want. The only games that really fit that bill on Wii U are Arkham City, Lego City Undercover, Pikmin 3, and Wonderful 101.

But the game quality has absolutely nothing to do with whether there is stagnation or not. It's stagnating because despite a change in hardware, we have not seen much of an advancement in software. Nintendo is putting more 2D Platformers, a genre that can pretty much do nothing with new hardware but add prettier graphics, out than ever. The PS4 and XB1 have a grand total of one game per system that actually take advantage of the increased system power for anything more than graphics, and even the graphics look almost identical to last-gen. I mean, the fact that I can still be wowed by GTA or TLOUS's graphics just as much as I can by Infamous or the new Madden is kind of sad. I remember going to stores back in 2005 and being absolutely stunned by the updated visuals of the 360.

And stagnation is a problem. I obviously haven't played every great game ever, so there is plenty available for me to play on my previous gen systems. What will get me to buy a new-gen system is new gameplay only possible with new hardware.

Really the only place that I'm impressed by this generation is with Handheld. The 3DS is getting terrific software and the 3D effect is neat, and the Vita's not half bad either, with definitely impressive visuals and power under the hood and some really neat features (though I don't have one).

I count like 10 games on the Wii U that to me are worth playing. The Wii U is 2 years old.

More like play only play 5 minutes a day or you'll run out...hah...anyone?

...

all jokes aside I can see people would say there's not enough games if its their only console. I mean we can't expect people to like every genre so there will be some hits people don't like and then remove the shovelware or slightly better than last gen versions like arkham city on wii u and you're left with around 10 stellar games.
